New Poster Arrives for ‘The Little Mermaid’ Ahead of Full Trailer’s Arrival on Sunday

A new poster was released for the live-action version of The Little Mermaid. The poster is reminiscent of the classic poster for the animated film with Ariel sitting on rocks in the ocean. This poster has a very different feel to it with a darker and stormier feel. This is perhaps indicating the storms she will have to swim through to reach her happily ever after. Along with showing the poster, Disney also shared that a full trailer will be released on Sunday March 12th during the Oscars.

The Little Mermaid stars Halle Bailey (grown-ish) as Ariel; Jonah Hauer-King (A Dog’s Way Home) as Prince Eric; Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, Snowpiercer) as the voice of Sebastian; Awkwafina (Raya and the Last Dragon) as the voice of Scuttle; Jacob Tremblay (Luca, Room) as the voice of Flounder; Noma Dumezweni (Mary Poppins Returns) as Queen Selina; Art Malik (Homeland) as Sir Grimsby; with Oscar winner Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men, Being the Ricardos) as King Triton; and two-time Academy Award nominee Melissa McCarthy (Can You Ever Forgive Me? Bridesmaids) as Ursula.

The film is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago, Mary Poppins Returns) and will be arriving in theaters on May 26, 2023.
