Disney has released the first teaser for the live-action version of The Little Mermaid. In the trailer, Ariel can be heard singing Part of Your World. In this iteration of the Disney animated classic, Halle Bailey will be playing Ariel. The trailer also gives a first look at both Prince Eric and Ursula.
The Little Mermaid has quite the cast. It includes Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder and Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian. The Little Mermaid – Official Teaser Trailer
The Little Mermaid’s music is brought to life through a collaboration of original composer Alan Menken and also Lin-Manuel Miranda. The duo came together to create for additional songs for the film. They do not replace classics like Kiss the Girl or Under the Sea.
The Little Mermaid is set to arrive in theaters on May 26, 2023.
