Earl of Sandwich will be opening in its new location at Downtown Disney District on February 1, 2023. This temporary home for the popular sandwich shop is the former home of La Brea Bakery. Journalist Scott Gustin broke the news about this location’s opening. The newest iteration of Earl of Sandwich will be opening at 11:00 AM on Wednesday and 11:00 AM on Thursday as well. On Friday it will begin to open at 8:00 AM.
The opening of Earl of Sandwich at this new location is the third time that Earl of Sandwich will be opening at the Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District. It opened in its original location at the other end of Downtown Disney in 2012. It was at the former home of Compass Books. This location originally closed in June of 2018. It would reopen in the same location just months later in October. It would close permanently at the location on January 22, 2022.
The return of Earl of Sandwich to Downtown Disney, albeit as a temporary pop up, has been met with much enthusiasm by Disney guests. After the Earl of Sandwich ends its run at this location, Porto’s will be the next business to inhabit the location. It is expected that the building for Porto’s will not be the same. A timeline for when this Earl of Sandwich location’s closure and the arrival of Porto’s has not been announced at this point. A new permanent home for Earl of Sandwich has also not been announced for the Disneyland Resort at this time.
