Disneyland Resort Honors Veterans With Special Veterans Day Patriotic Flag Retreat Ceremony and Display in Opera House

The Disneyland Resort honored its veterans for Veterans Day yesterday with a special Patriotic Flag Retreat Ceremony and also a display in the Opera House on November 11, 2022. The Patriotic Flag Retreat was held in Town Square on Main Street, USA at Disneyland at 4:30 PM.

The Patriotic Flag Retreat happens daily and veterans are also honored each day. However, on Veterans Day, things were even bigger than on other days as Cast Members who are Veterans were invited to participate and gather on the steps in front of Main Street Station to be honored. They were joined by the Disneyland Security Honor Guard, the Dapper Dans, a Marine color guard, and also the Disneyland Band. Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro and Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock were both on hand for this special day and ceremony as well.

Over at the Opera House, there was a special display thanking veterans for their service. It also shared how The Walt Disney Company continues to work with and support veterans. This display was in the place where the Walt Disney bench normally sits. It was moved into the exit area of the Opera House. Both Walt and Roy Disney served during World War I. Walt Disney was a driver in the Red Cross Ambulance Corps and Roy Disney was a petty officer in the U.S. Navy.
