Every afternoon in Town Square on Main Street, USA, Disneyland takes a few minutes to recognize and honor veterans and active duty service members during its patriotic flag retreat. During this beautiful ceremony, the flag is lowered for the day by the Disneyland Resort Security Honor Guard. Quite frequently the Disneyland Band and/or Dapper Dans provide patriotic music for the flag retreat. Service members and veterans from the branches of the military are also honored and recognized.
On November 11th, this was done on an even grander scale as the Disneyland Resort celebrated Veterans Day. For this special patriotic flag retreat, the 1st Marine Division Band joined the ceremony. Veterans that work at the Disneyland Resort were also invited to be a part of the ceremony and be honored. The flag retreat was incredibly moving and beautiful. The flag retreat takes place in the late afternoon every day at Disneyland. Consult the Disneyland App or ask a cast member for a specific time as it does occasionally change.
