Subtropical Storm Nicole isn’t just potentially impacting Florida, but also the waters around the state. Due to this, ships of the Disney Cruise Line fleet have been forced to alter their course. This will be changing itineraries for the fleet as the storm forces ships to skip Castaway Cay. This comes as Florida has a state of emergency ahead of the storm’s arrival.
At this point, this has caused both the Disney Wish and the Disney Dream to change their itineraries. Guests aboard the Disney Dream that departed on November 7th were given a letter sharing that the ship would be getting an extra day at sea as the ship headed to Cozumel, Mexico. The Disney Wish is also going to be headed to Cozumel, Mexico instead of Castaway Cay.
Here is the new itinerary for the Disney Dream this week:
- Monday November 7, 2022 – Miami, Florida
- Tuesday November 8, 2022 – At Sea
- Wednesday November 9, 2022 – At Sea
- Thursday November 10, 2022 – Cozumel, Mexico
- Friday November 11, 2022 – At Sea
- Saturday November 12, 2022 – Miami, Florida
Here is the new itinerary for the Disney Wish this week:
- Monday November 7, 2022 – Port Canaveral, Florida
- Tuesday November 8, 2022 – At Sea
- Wednesday November 9, 2022 – Cozumel, Mexico
- Thursday November 10, 2022 – At Sea
- Friday November 11, 2022 – Port Canaveral, Florida
At this point, other ships in the fleet have not changed their itineraries. Subtropical Storm Nicole is expected to become a category 1 hurricane before coming ashore on Florida late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning somewhere between Miami and West Palm Beach. This isn’t expected to have the same intensity as Hurricane Ian, which caused lots of destruction when it crossed Florida earlier this fall.
Daps Magic will continue to follow this story and provide updates as they become available.
