A Look at Disney California Adventure’s Pacific Wharf Before San Fransokyo Arrives

At the D23 Expo earlier this year, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced that Pacific Wharf will be re-imagined to be themed to San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6. When it is complete, guests will be able to meet Baymax and be immersed in the world that was created by Walt Disney Animation Studios for the film. The newly themed area will include new places to eat and also places to shop as well.

Currently there are several dining establishments found at Pacific Wharf. They include:

  • Alfresco Tasting terrace
  • Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill
  • Lucky Fortune Cookery
  • Mendocino Terrace
  • Pacific Wharf Cafe
  • Pacific Wharf Distribution Co.
  • Rita’s Baja Blenders
  • Sonoma Terrace
  • Wine Country Trattoria

The Bakery Tour, hosted Boudin Bakery, gives guests a look at how sourdough bread is made. It starts with a video where Colin Mochrie and Rosie O’Donnell explain the history of sourdough bread and how it is made. Guests also get a sample of the bread. They then get to go on a tour of the bakery and see bread being made right in front of them.

Ahead of the transformation of Pacific Wharf into San Fransokyo, Daps Magic team member Angela spent some time filming a comprehensive tour of the area. Watch it here:

Here is a look at the concept art for San Fransokyo at Disney California Adventure:

Pacific Wharf in Disney California Adventure park will be reimaged as San Fransokyo from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Big Hero 6,” where East meets West and technology meets tradition. Imagineers are in the early phases of this work, but there is something coming for children of all ages, for the young and young at heart. There will be a place to meet Baymax, plus new spots to eat and shop. (Artist Concept)
