The Disneyland Resort 2022 All-American College Band’s summer season has ended. The band ended its summer run with a swingin’ set at the Hollywood Backlot Stage in Disney California Adventure on August 12, 2022. This ended a summer of performances, clinicians, and education for the band. This is the first college band to perform at the Disneyland Resort since 2019. After which, the program was put on hiatus due to the pandemic.
The return of the Disneyland Resort All-American College Band marked the 50th summer the band had performed at the Disneyland Resort. While there was no reunion as had happened for previous milestones, the return of the college band itself was enough cause for celebration. Fans turned out for the final day of performances for the band. As had been the norm throughout most of the summer, the band had the following set times:
- 4:30 PM – Patriotic Flag Retreat in Town Square, USA at Disneyland
- 6:10 PM – Main Street Station Marching Set at Disneyland
- 7:10 PM – Sleeping Beauty Castle Marching Set at Disneyland
- 8:00 PM – Pre-Parade Marching Set at Disneyland
- 9:00 PM – Jazz Set at Hollywood Backlot Stage at Disney California Adventure
The energy at all the performances throughout the day was top-notch. The band and the audience were there to celebrate and go out on a high note. During the Main Street Station set, as the band was preparing to start a song, they all rushed the band’s student leader Glynnis. After a big group hug, the ban continued on with its performance. Throughout the day there were lots of magical moments, musical moments, humorous moments, and wonderful moments of community. It was a celebration of this program that is over 50 years old and all of the people who make it happen. This goes from the students, the staff in front and behind the scenes, and the friends and families who support the band. The result is a magical and positive thing that is very unique to this program and also to the Disneyland Resort.
