It appears that the first Captain America movie with Anthony Mackie as the Star Spangled Man has found its director. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Julius Onah is set to direct Captain America 4. Onah is best known for directing The Cloverfield Paradox, which came out in 2018. The script is being penned by Malcolm Spellman, who was the screenwriter for The Winter Soldier. He is writing the script with Dalan Musson who was a staff writer for Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Where exactly Anthony Mackie’s Captain America will be headed is completely unknown at this time. Since entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Sam Wilson, Mackie has brought to life Wilson who would become Falcon and was also Captain America’s sidekick. He eventually would become his replacement as Captain America. This did not come easily though, as was seen in the 2021 Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
A release date for Captain America 4 has not been announced yet. It also isn’t known when exactly this film will be going into production.
