Hocus Pocus fans are one step closer to seeing the sequel. Bette Midler has shared that she finished filming her portions of Hocus Pocus 2. In a post on Twitter, Midler shared a photo of what looked to be some sort of edible spooky treat with the caption “THAT’S A WRAP!!!!” The treat had a photo printed on it of the Sanderson Sisters and the spellbook.
Bette Midler returns to the role she originated in 1993’s original Hocus Pocus, Winifred Sanderson. She will be joined by Sarah-Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson, Kathy Najimy as Mary Sanderson, and also Doug Jones as William “Billy” Butcherson. They will be joined by newcomers to the franchise Whitney Peak (as Becca), Lila Buckingham (as Cassie), Belissa Escobedo (as Izzy), and Tony Hale (as Salem’s mayor Jefry Traske).
The premise behind the sequel is quite similar to the original film. The Sanderson Sisters are accidentally brought back to modern-day Salem and the three girls who brought them back will have to figure out how to stop the sisters from devouring all the children of Salem and wreaking havoc on the world.
Hocus Pocus 2 will be released in the fall (2022). Are you excited to see this sequel? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
