Walt Disney Animation Studios’ original action-adventure “Strange World” journeys deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest—and by far— most crucial mission. Helmed by director Don Hall (Oscar®-winning “Big Hero 6,” “Raya and the Last Dragon”) and co-director/writer Qui Nguyen (co-writer “Raya and the Last Dragon”), and produced by Roy Conli (“Big Hero 6,” “Tangled”), “Strange World” releases November 23, 2022. © 2021 Disney. The film goes on an adventure deep into an uncharted and treacherous land. There, a family of explorers named the Clades, find some fantastical creatures. Unfortunately, the differences within the family threaten to ruin this mission, their latest and most crucial.

Director Don Hall shared the Strange World is a nod to pulp magazines, popular fiction that was printed on inexpensive wood pulp paper in the first half of the 20th century. “I loved reading the old issues of pulps growing up,” he said. “They were big adventures in which a group of explorers might discover a hidden world or ancient creatures. They’ve been a huge inspiration for ‘Strange World.’” Pulp magazines also inspired other action-adventure movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark and even Star Wars: A New Hope.

Strange World is directed by Don Hall (Big Hero 6, Raya and the Last Dragon) and co-directed/written by Qui Nguyen (co-writer of Raya and the Last Dragon). It is produced by Roy Conli (Big Hero 6, Tangled). Strange World releases on November 23, 2022.
