Ivanna Sakhno has joined the cast of the Ashoka Tano series that is being developed for Disney+. What her role is, currently isn’t known. It is believed, however, that it will be a new character that has been created for the Star Wars series.
Sakhno will be joining Rosario Dawson, who will be portraying Ahsoka Tano, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo who will bring the Star Wars Rebels character Sabine Wren to the live-action series. Representatives for both Sakhno and Lucasfilm declined to comment on the story to Variety, who confirmed the story.
Sakhno has appeared in films like Pacific Rim: Uprising, The Spy Who Dumped Me, and Ivan the Powerful. She has also appeared in several episodes of Hulu’s High Fidelity.
The Ahsoka Tano series, called Ahsoka, was announced in December 2020. Dawson, who will play the lead role, first portrayed Tano in season two of The Mandalorian. Ahsoka is expected to begin production in early 2022. Hayden Christensen is also expected to return to the role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the series. Dave Filoni is writing and executive producing Ahsoka. Jon Favreau is also executive producing.
