IMAX and Disney+ have partnered together to give Marvel fans at home the chance to watch some of their favorite Marvel movies in IMAX’s Expanded Aspect Ratio. The partnership called, IMAX Enhanced on Disney+, will be launching on Disney+ on November 12th as part of the Disney+ Day festivities.
There will be 13 Marvel movies that will get the IMAX Enhanced on Disney+ treatment. This includes:
- Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings
- Iron Man
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Captain America: Civil War
- Doctor Strange
- Thor: Ragnarok
- Black Panther
- Avengers: Infinity War
- Ant-Man and The Wasp
- Captain Marvel
- Avengers: Endgame
- Black Widow
IMAX’s Expanded Aspect Ratio is 1:90:1, a full 26% more picture for select sequences. This will mean that viewers will see more of what’s happening on the screen. There will be even more enhanced audio and visual technology from this collaboration in the future. One thing coming is the immersive IMAX signature sound by DTS.

IMAX is billed as the most “immersive canvas for filmmakers to bring their visions to audiences.” Bringing this technology to Disney+ will create an even higher fidelity viewing experience from the comfort of homes around the world. Disney+ is the first streaming service to utilize the IMAX Enhanced technology.
