The Return of the Disneyland Band Adds Extra Magic to Disneyland

Today the Disneyland Band made its return to the Disneyland Resort with performances at Disneyland. This is the first time the band has performed in the park since it was shut down last year. Its return brings back live entertainment to the Disneyland Resort and is a welcome added dose of magic to the Happiest Place on Earth!

The first set for the Disneyland Band was on Main Street, USA at the Train Station. Friend of DAPS MAGIC Angela was able to catch this performance and share it. You can watch it below! DAPS MAGIC will continue to add more videos here as they are filmed and edited.

Disneyland Band Returns to Disneyland

The Disneyland Band was originally assembled for the opening day of Disneyland in 1955. Walt Disney asked  Vesey Walker to put the band together for what was initially meant to be a two week run. However, the popularity of the band had it continue on. Through the years, the band was directed by James Christensen, Jim Barngrover, Stanford Freese, and Art Dragon. In 2015, the band received and update and began to utilize multiple directors.

For over sixty years the Disneyland Band has brought magic through its musical performances into Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom. The return of the Disneyland Band is one more large step in the return to whatever new normal is as the world recovers from the pandemic. The band itself is the musical embodiment of Disneyland as it again is a source of joy and inspiration to all who come to this happy place!
