Knott’s Berry Farm will bury a time capsule in a ceremony to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the park and farm. The capsule will be buried at the entrance to Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair, and will be opened in 50 years. Anyone that will witness the presentation at the Calico Mine Stage will have their photo in the capsule via a panoramic photo taken during that time! Also everyone there can get download the photo on the FunPix account. The ceremony will be today, June 30 at 4 pm. Below is the official press release.
Knott’s Berry Farm Hosts 100th Anniversary Time Capsule Ceremony on June 30th at Calico Mine Stage
In honor of Knott’s Berry Farm’s 100th Anniversary Grand Celebration, the park will host a memorable Time Capsule Ceremony on Wednesday, June 30 at 4 pm to commemorate the past and present memories created throughout the last 100 years. It will be placed at the entrance of Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair, to be opened 50 years from now, on June 30, 2071. The ceremony will bring park characters, Ghost Town citizens and Knott’s staff members together on stage, as representatives place notable items inside the time capsule. It is a way for the people of Knott’s to preserve our history and heritage for the future descendants to discover 50 years from now.
Along with the items selected by each department for the time capsule, the Knott’s team will also be placing a banner covered with names and signatures of our current park associates. So, a half-century from now, the future park associates will be entrusted with the honor of upholding the values and traditions that we instill today. Additionally, Knott’s will be commemorating this ceremony by capturing a panoramic picture of everyone in attendance. This image will also be placed in the time capsule so that 50 years from now, the folks who gather to for the opening of it can know exactly who was present the day it was sealed. Attendees can purchase or download the commemorative photo onto their FunPix accounts. The Knott’s Family Reunion 100th Anniversary Celebration runs daily through September the 6th, 2021. Ticket reservations are required for entry into the park.
