Marvel Studios: Legends arrived on Disney+ today. Currently, with two legends explored, it gives a good primer (or reminder) for fans looking forward to WandaVision. WandaVision arrives on Disney+ next Friday on January 15, 2021. Unsurprisingly, the first two episodes, released today, focus on Wanda and Vision.
In the first Marvel legend, the story of Wanda is explored. The line “there is nothing is more terrifying than a miracle” is repeated as her story and struggles are shared through a montage of moments. There is no narrator, only lines pulled from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Ultron plays a significant role in Wanda’s story in Marvel Studios: Legends. This makes sense as Age of Ultron is where Wanda first appeared. The episode gives a look at her growth and her hurt as the evens of the Marvel Cinematic Universe transpire.
In the second episode that focuses on Vision, fans get a reminder of his origins as Jarvis and then transformation to Vision with the arrival of Ultron. It then pivots into the relationship growth between Vision and Wanda as they grow into their roles as part of the Avengers. This episode gives another perspective on the story of Wanda and Vision. It is a beautiful love story, albeit heartbreaking.
Marvel Studios: Legends offers a quick reminder of the stories of Marvel’s superheroes that we know and love. Watching the first two episodes, Marvel Legends also seems to help focus the viewer in on the elements of the stories that will be relevant moving forward (unless this is misdirection at some level). At under ten minutes, these are a great refresher course ahead of the arrival of WandaVision. Check them out and then share what you thought of them in the comments below!
Two episodes of Marvel Studios: Legends have been released on Disney+ on January 8, 2021. It is unknown when more will be arriving on Disney’s streaming service.
