One of the things that have been missing since Walt Disney World reopened last July is the traditional entertainment offerings Disney is so well known for. There has been the return of Disney characters, cavalcades, and other re-imagined ways to experience Disney characters. The Main Street Philharmonic has also made a return. Stage shows have not made a return up to this point. However, this will soon change.
Today it was announced by the Disney Parks Blog that the process has begun to bring back more singers, dancers, technicians, and other cast members that are a part of Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Harambe Theatre.
The return of Festival of the Lion King will be modified from what it was before Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the rest of Disney’s theme parks closed last year due to COVID-19. this will include changes to how the show is presented for the guests and how things are handled backstage. This will mean that there will be different choreography to accommodate physical distancing. Audience seating will also be adjusted to be in line with safety protocols as well. It will create a theater experience that is similar to other theaters that are already open at Walt Disney World Resort.
