Original Broadway Creative Team Returns For New Beauty and the Beast Tour

The original Broadway creative team behind Disney Theatrical Productions’ Beauty and the Beast are coming together again for a new tour of the production through the UK and Ireland. Production is now underway on the show that will see it begin with a five-week run at Curve Leicester in May 2021. It is unknown at this time what stops the show will make after.

The Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast includes music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and a book by Linda Woolverton. It was the first theatrical production to be released by Disney Theatrical Productions. It ran on Broadway for 13 years from 1994-2007. It also was produced in 37 countries globally.

Beauty and the Beast tells the love story between a beast who once was a prince and a girl from a local town. Without true love, the Beast will never be able to return to his original form. Disney first told this story in the 1991 animated movie musical of the same name.
