The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana will be reopening on Friday, June 19th. The announcement could be found on the Bowers Museum’s website. With the reopening of the museum also came an announcement that Walt Disney Archives: 50 Years of Preserving the Magic will be extended until October 18th. The exhibit had opened just before COVID-19 forced the museum to close.
For those who wish to visit the museum and see this exhibit, it is suggested that tickets are purchased in advance as the Bowers Museum will have limited capacity in order to help keep a safe environment. On top of limited capacity, the Bowers Museum will also have other safety protocols in place. This will include face coverings, which will be required for both staff and guests of the museum. Social distancing will be observed as well. Hand sanitizing stations will also be placed throughout the museum. The museum will be increasing its cleaning protocols, especially in “high touch” areas. Water fountains will be closed to help prevent any potential spread of the coronavirus. Signs will also be placed throughout the museum to help encourage safe practices.
The Bowers Museum had to close its doors on March 17th due to the coronavirus. This was just after it opened Walt Disney Archives: 50 Years of Preserving the Magic to guests at the beginning of the month.
