One Day at Disney: Meet the People Who Make the Magic Across the Globe takes a look at one day at Disney and all the people who make it up. For this unique project, Disney documented cast members from around the globe on a Thursday in January of 2019. The result is a documentary and a book that has a widely diverse set of stories and people brought together to show one “ordinary day” at The Walt Disney Company.
The book is divided up into different hours of the day starting at midnight. Because the company is a global one, as the story travels around the globe the day actually ends up being 40 hours long! Throughout this 40 hour day, stories of people from Disney Parks, ESPN, Marvel, Pixar, Imagineering, ABC, and other places not even generally realized (or recognized) are shared. The result is a much bigger look at just how much happens around the different parts of The Walt Disney Company.
It is quite easy to get lost in One Day at Disney: Meet the People Who Make the Magic Across the Globe. There were multiple positions that are showcased that were familiar to me, including some familiar faces! There were even more positions that I just hadn’t considered before, and still others I took for granted. As I dug deeper into the book I found myself reading faster and eating up the stories of the people on the pages. The first few times I picked it up I went through just a few stories but it seemed like every time I returned to the book, I got more engrossed.
One Day at Disney: Meet the People Who Make the Magic Across the Globe is an enjoyable book that Disney fans will find fascinating as they get a deeper look at the scope of The Walt Disney Company. While there is a general timeline that the book works its way through, the book is structured in a way that the reader can open to any page and read about a person and their role. This makes for a nice experience where you don’t have to read through it all at once and in a linear fashion.
The arrival of One Day at Disney: Meet the People Who Make the Magic Across the Globe is on December 3, 2019. This also is the day that One Day at Disney will arrive as a 52-episode short-form series One Day at Disney, launching with a feature-length documentary. One Day at Disney: Meet the People Who Make the Magic Across the Globe is a fascinating and enjoyable book that Disney fans will enjoy paging through.
