Could Wedge Antilles be in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? The pilot, from the original Star Wars movies, could be appearing in the final movie of the Skywalker Saga. The news comes from a Rebel Force Radio tweet. Denis Lawson, the original actor behind the role of Wedge, will be reprising the role.

This news runs at odds to previous indications that said Lawson was bored with the role and uninterested when asked to join The Force Awakens. The actor, now 72, was shown in cover art for the upcoming Resistance Reborn book before a post was removed. It is possible that J.J. Abrams has convinced Lawson to return to the role and help wrap up the Skywalker Saga in a fulfilling way that the actor found more interesting. It is also completely possible that this won’t be confirmed (and it currently hasn’t been by Lucasfilm) until the world premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Wedge Antilles did appear in Star Wars Rebels. Lawson is also the maternal uncle of Ewan McGregor, who portrayed Obi-Wan in the prequels and will also be in an upcoming Disney+ series based on the character.
