Meet Babu Frik From Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Babu Frik

This last week Star Wars released a new image of a new alien, presumably from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Not a lot is known about this new character but he immediately garnered the attention and the affection of fans around the globe. The new alien’s name is Babu Frik.

Babu Frik - Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

What IS known is that Babu is an Anzellan droidsmith. He works with the Spice Runners of Kijimi. He is able to hack, reprogram, or repair just about any droid. Droid’s security systems are no problem for him. Could this have something to do with C-3P0’s red eyes? Hopefully, more will be learned about Babu Frik with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in December.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrives in theaters on December 20, 2019. It will conclude the Skywalker Saga that began back in 1977.  Currently, this is the description of the film: “No one’s ever really gone… Rey’s journey continues and the Skywalker saga concludes in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, coming December 2019.

What do you think of Babu Frik? Do you think he ends up with a pivotal role in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker or will he be more of a cameo? Or will he perhaps have a small role with big implications? Weigh in with your thoughts in the comments below!
