Animated Shorts Coming to Disney+ Streaming Service Next Year through Disney’s Short Circuit Program

Who doesn’t love animated shorts? Fans of the Walt Disney Company have come to love the short stories that unfold before them, especially before Pixar films. Disney has decided to pursue creating more animated shorts, even creating the new Short Circuit program that will bring us all new shorts to the streaming service next year.

The new program will allow anyone at The Walt Disney Animation Studios to pitch an idea for a new short. If their idea is selected, they can work with other artists and creators to make their short film a reality. This program is already well underway and there have already been three shorts chosen to debut in Spring 2020! Here’s a little bit about what you will see on the Disney+ Streaming Service.

Jing Hua (Flower in the Mirror)

This short comes from director Jerry Huynh, a technical director at Walt Disney Animation Studios. You have definitely seen his work in some of your favorite films, with his body of work including Moana and Ralph Breaks the Internet. We are sure that this new short will be something absolutely magical!

Just a Thought

Remember those awkward pre-teen years? We’ve all been there, and Just a Thought will draw on these shared experiences! Director Brian Menz also drew inspiration on newspaper comic strips he grew up loving. Menz has worked on many of your favorites including BoltBig Hero 6, Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, Zootopia, Moanaand Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Exchange Student

Director Natalie Nourigat has also worked on Ralph Breaks the Internet and has recently made a career drawing comics. We can’t wait to see what this short will hold for us!
