Disney is continuing to re-imagine the telling of some of its classic animated features. One of the upcoming live-action remakes is the 1940 classic Pinocchio. Tom Hanks is reportedly in talks to portray Geppetto in the tale. Geppetto is the woodcarver who ends up creating Pinocchio with the wish that he could become a real boy and Geppetto could then be a father.
This version of Pinocchio is being directed by Paddinton’s Paul King. Andrew Miano and Chris Weitz are producing. The three of them are the scribes behind the most recent draft of the script.
Tom Hanks has quite a few things coming up. In 2019 Hanks will be appearing in Greyhound, as Woody again in Toy Story 4, and also as Mr. Rogers in an untitled movie based on the television personality.
