Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort sometime in 2019. This will be the largest land to be added to the Disneyland Resort since it opened in 1955 and will transport guests into a galaxy far, far away.

History of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Originally announced in 2015, this new land has been much talked about and has been speculated about even more! After that, new images were teased occasionally and even more speculation happened. Next, it was announced that this new land would be opening in 2019 at both the Disneyland Resort and also in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. At Star Wars Celebration 2017, more details about what the land would include were released.  This included some specifics about what exactly this land would be like and the attractions that would inhabit it. Fans went crazy realizing they would be able to pilot the Millennium Falcon and fight in a First Order battle! Things got even better when a model and name for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was revealed at the 2017 D23 Expo. Since then, portions of this model have arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and also at Disneyland. At the same time, construction for this new land continued at both parks.
