Our adventures in the parks continue in 2017 with the last day of the holiday celebrations throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Many gathered to see the spectacle and fun of the holiday season’s final offerings. Our main aim was to see Viva Navidad one last time. Before Viva Navidad was Elena of Avalor’s royal welcome.
Viva Navidad has great live music, lively dancing, and wonderful Disney characters to celebrate the Christmas season. It’s been a steady entertainment offering the last few holiday seasons, so there’s a good chance it’ll be back. But, it’s a little sad to see it leaving Disney California Adventure for now.
There were a couple of other final performances for the parks. The first being Believe…In Holiday Magic – the fireworks show. Though it also returns to the holiday time year after year, this season has been a hard one to catch it. Rain and winds have prevented performances in the past. And, in fact, this was the first and last time for the Sunday DAPs crew to catch it! It was also a great opportunity to try some wide angle shots.
After the final fireworks was the last Paint the Night as far as what has been announced. This spectacular parade had everyone in high spirits watching. And it was clear that performers in the parade were giving out all their energy to make it a great last night. The parade makes way for the Main Street Electrical Parade to return in two weeks.
It’s bittersweet to see so much leaving this week, but it makes way for some great things coming up. And other holidays will be right around the corner. In the meantime is a half marathon, return of classic night entertainment, and original states of rides for all to enjoy. And we will be back next Sunday to share our adventures the week after!
