Knott’s Merry Farm has been a holiday delight for many years. Now returning on November 19 to Knott’s Berry Farm, this event will have new and returning classics for families to enjoy.
Among the returning things to do is the Christmas Crafts Village, where guests can shop around Ghost Town for some unique gifts. Some of the memorable shops are things like a chainsaw wood carver and glass blower. Over in the Bird Cage Theater is the returning A Christmas Carol and A Gift of the Magi. Throughout Ghost Town will be nightly snow falling, which has been a big hit over the last two years. Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies will also perform on select nights.
At the Charles M. Schulz Theatre Merry Christmas, Snoopy! will be an ice skating spectacular performed on select days. This holiday themed show will have the Peanuts gang skating with other world class skaters in an awe inspiring show.
Two new shows will debut at Knott’s Merry Farm this year. It’s The Merriest Christmas Show Ever, Charlie Brown will be performed on the new Calico Mine Stage. Charlie Brown and friends will be trying to put on the best Christmas pageant ever. A Peanuts Guide to Christmas features the Peanuts gang giving tips on how to survive the holidays, and will be over at the Camp Snoopy Theatre. It’s sure to be fun with some mash ups of classic Christmas tunes.
Besides shows and attractions, another new feature to the festive occasion will be some of the residents from last summer’s Ghost Town Alive! helping bring Christmas spirit throughout Calico. Guests can even go to the Town Hall for some Christmas activities, and carolers will liven up the streets throughout the day.
A new Calico Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at the new Calico Park this year. A Bell Choir and citizens of the town will be out to celebrate this nightly ceremony. Santa Claus will be in Santa’s Christmas Cabin over in the Wilderness Dance Hall.
Christmas at Knott’s is something I look forward to each year, and with these new additions I’m anticipating it even more! It’s a festive time with wonderful ambiance and delicious goodies. It’s definitely a destination for the holiday season! Be sure to check it out between November 19, 2016 to January 8, 2017.
