Star Wars Rebels Season 2

Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season Two – Mr. DAPs Home Theater Review

StarWarsRebelsSeasonTwoBluray[3]

The story of the crew of the Ghost and the budding rebellion continues with Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season Two on Blu-Ray. Season Two takes the crew of the Ghost closer to the Star Wars that many fans grew up knowing from the original trilogy and even the original movie, Star Wars: A New Hope. Season Two brings back characters both new and old as the crew of the Ghost makes new alliances and struggles against the oppression of what seems to be an increasingly more aggressive Empire.

Quality

One of the things I love about Star Wars Rebels in general is the amount of effort that is put into quality. From sound effects to making sure things look and feel right, it’s apparent that quality is important to the team behind this show. This release of Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season Two is no exception. This looks and sounds great on my big screen TV and it is incredible to see something new from Star Wars coming to life, even if it is in a slightly different format than we traditionally were given.

Extras

There were bonus features included on each Blu-Ray disc included in this release. Here is a look at what was offered:

  • From Apprentice to Adversary: Vader vs. Ahsoka – Executive Producer Dave Filoni talks about the climactic ending of Season Two between Darth Vader and Ahsoka Tano.
  • Connecting the Galaxy: Rebels Season Two – Take a look at the connections between Star Wars Rebels and the larger Star Wars galaxy’s other releases.
  • Rebel Recons – Originally released on StarWars.com, these episodes take a behind the scenes look at each episode of Star Wars Rebels: Season Two.

The extras included with Star Wars Rebels: The Complete Season Two were fun to watch but honestly, I would always like more. There are some incredible tidbits found in these features. There are also some behind the scenes glimpses into the world of Star Wars. All this said, would still love MORE!

Final Thoughts

Star Wars Rebels Season Two takes the story of the crew of the Ghost to a whole new level and it is awesome. While there were elements of the first season that I had some mixed feelings about, this season was much more solid and incredibly enjoyable. Watching the first episode I couldn’t help but think, “this is Star Wars!.” This season continues on with that trend and is a very solid season and very enjoyable to be able to binge watch. I would love to have more extras included with this release but I definitely have no complaints about anything that was offered. This is definitely worth adding to any Star Wars fans home entertainment library. This one easily gets a hat tip!
