Jack Lindquist

Public Memorial for Disneyland’s First President to be Held at Chapman University

A week ago, Disneyland’s first President, Jack Lindquist, passed away at the age of 88. In honor of his life and career with Disney, Chapman University will hold a public memorial.

According to the Orange Country Register, Lindquist was a “longtime university trustee.” The public memorial will be held at the University’s Fish Interfaith Center at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. In addition, the University’s President, Jim Doti and more will speak. Doti was quoted saying, “Chapman lost a great friend with the passing of my hero, Jack Lindquist. There are so many ways he lit up our university.”

One wing of the University’s library is dedicated to Lindquist and his wife, Belle. Several rooms are themed with historical Disney memorabilia from the Lindquist family. Lindquist was also said to be a “regular guest” on campus.
