5 Reasons to Visit Knott’s Merry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm will be transformed into Knott’s Merry Farm – a holiday celebration – starting November 21st.  Here’s some reasons to stop by the park:

  1. Ghost Town Festivities

Ghost Town gets dressed up during the holiday season.  Carolers travel along Engine 41.  Craft shops set up residence along the streets.  It’s a very festive Christmas celebration.  Having visited during the holidays I can say this is something I look forward to every year.  This area of the park has always been entertaining in its rustic, historic look and authenticity.  During Christmastime it’s even more magical with the residence bringing in the holiday spirit with all they do.  It’s worth going in and walking around.

Peanuts Characters Lucy's Wish List2. Entertainment

There are several opportunities for shows around the park.  A staple of the park, and always a crowd pleaser, is Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies.  Yes, that Kirk and those Hillbillies.  It’s hand clapping entertainment with great comedy.  Before the Hillbillies take the stage at the historic Bird Cage Theater, melodrama players put on The Gift of the Magi and A Christmas Carol.  Along the streets are the carolers I mentioned above.  Over in Camp Snoopy, Christmas Time is Here, Charlie Brown will be at the Camp Snoopy Theater.  The show will have great Christmas tunes, and have the Peanuts gang!

  1. Merry Christmas, Snoopy!

The ice skating show deserves its own reason.  There are only a few times a year to see an ice skating show at Knott’s Berry Farm, and they never disappoint.  Not only are the Peanuts characters skating, but world class ice skaters take the stage.  I’ve seen many of the different shows Knott’s offers, and they keep getting better and better.  The Christmas one is a tradition that has been around for a long time.  It’s exclusive to the park, and always incredible!

  1. Snow Fall and Tree Lighting

In Ghost Town every night, snow falls along the streets for the holiday season.  It’s almost a transformation of the town, and creates an environment unlike any other.  Where else can you go to an authentic old west town AND have snow fall?  On the Calico Stage is Snoopy’s Merriest Tree Lighting.  It’s a whimsical stage show with none other than Snoopy and a very large Christmas tree.  It’s a special time of night to watch this lighting.

Knott’s has some of the best food.  That alone is reason to go any time of the year.  BUT, it’s even better at the holiday time!  Special Christmas treats are around the park for everyone to enjoy.  My favorite is the fresh made egg nog!  Yes!  Fresh made. Egg nog.  There is nothing finer, my friends.  Great baked cookies and other treats are around, many of which (including the egg nog) are found in the Wilderness Hall.  Oh man.  I’m getting hungry.  I’ll see you all in the park!

(and below is the official release from Knott’s about what to expect)

Joy is in season at Knott’s Merry Farm! Snoopy and a cast of world class ice skaters perform Merry Christmas, Snoopy!, a whimsical ice show bursting with characters and remarkable skating. Take a trip back in time and celebrate Christmas in the Old West town of Calico.
