Star Wars Rebels Season Two Trailer

Star Wars Rebels The Siege of Lothal Season TwoThis past weekend at New York Comic Con, the official trailer for Star Wars Rebels Season Two was released. The trailer includes quite a bit of footage from the first episode of the second seas0n, but also some teasers at what else will be coming this season.

According to interviews at New York Comic Con, this season will really delve into the characters quite a bit more. Last season was introducing the team, this season will get into backstories and personalities of the crew of the Ghost and also a few others.

Another big announcement was that Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Seventh Sister will be appearing as one of two new inquisitors in this season. Gellar’s (who is married to Freddy Prince Jr. who voices Kanan) character will be speculated about a lot this season as fans try to see if there is a connection with Star Wars: The Clone Wars one can predict from the focus of the Seventh Sister’s mission…. this will be discussed in a later post reviewing the series.

Star Wars Rebels Season Two will return to Disney XD on October 14, 2015!

So what do you think?

Having already seen the first episode of this season, I’m stoked for what is coming. This trailer just reinforces the feeling that I get that when Star Wars Rebels returns we will be getting something that feels like the original Star Wars I knew and grew up with. Part of this is the return of Darth Vader, part of it is the music. I think the biggest part though is the way the story is being told. It is a small band of rebels fighting a David and Goliath fight against the evil Empire.

I enjoyed Star Wars: The Clone Wars a lot and thought it did a nice job of filling in a lot of the gaps left open by the Star Wars prequels. I never felt like they were the Star Wars that I grew up with however. What I’ve seen so far of this second season does. I only hope that we haven’t just seen the very best parts of the season and instead we are seeing the glimpse of what will be a steady tone throughout the season (and beyond!). The one thing I’m reserving judgement on is the new light saber wielding villain. I hope he is a strong enough character to really make him interesting and isn’t just a gimmick.

More Darth Vader, more Ahsoka Tano, more of the crew of the Ghost, and more conflict between the sprouting Rebels and the might Galactic Empire will be a lot of fun to watch on Monday nights!

Make it a GREAT day!
