Marvel has released a new Guardians of the Galaxy trailer. After some powerful logos (watch and you’ll see what I mean), this new trailer shows some of the origins of Star-Lord. The rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy are revealed for the misfits that they are viewed as. The team is built. And finally, they are off to save the galaxy.

So what do you think?
This is my favorite trailer for this film to date. The other trailers have been fun and entertaining but this is the first one that added some depth to it. This added a sense of reality to the Guardians of the Galaxy for me. I had worries that the film might be too hokey for me but after this trailer I can see that there will be more than just the cheap laughs. There will be laughs though, which we have come to expect from Marvel movies. We also see that there is a real risk as the result of failure by this group of unlikely heroes and the powers that be are clearly uncomfortable with it. Friendship also is developing that won’t be uneventful either. All this to say, it looks like Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be a movie that will be humorous but also have heart… if this trailer is doing an accurate job portraying what we will get to see.
Guardians of the Galaxy will be in theaters on August 1st and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Josh Brolin. Yes, it is a pretty awesome cast.
