Ink & Paint Program Comes to Disneyland

Watch Program – Last Day at Fortuosity

Many have asked me over the last few months, “what happened to the watch artists?” For many years these artists painted personalized artwork that was then scanned and printed onto the face of a watch. Guests would then take home both the art and the watch. With the closure of this program, many have wondered what would happen with the artists they had come to know and love. Yesterday it was announced that they will now be found painting ink & paint cels in the new Disneyana Shop on Main Street, USA starting on July 20, 2013.

The ink & paint program will be releasing a series of ink & paint cels that begins with a train themed cel entitled Right on Time. Mickey Mouse will be the conductor who is trying to keep the trains on time. He is joined by Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck who appear to be waiting for the train to arrive. The cels will be available framed or unframed along with framed and a signed postcard.

On July 20, to celebrate the beginning of this program, several of the ink & paint artists will be on hand at the Disneyana Shop to sign cels and allow guests to see the artists behind the art. The artists include: Eric Scales, Dave Smith, Charles Landholm, Todd Wiesenhutter and June Valentine Ruppe. They will be at the Disneyana Shop from 9-11 AM on July 20.

Guests who are unable to come into Disneyana Shop can also purchase ink & paint cels here while supplies last.

  1. Would love to more about the Ink & Paint releases from Disneyland.

    1. Thanks for the feedback Beth! We will do our best to accommodate this request. :) Is there anything in particular you’d like to know?

      1. Ink and Paint Releases in Disney World are done a couple of months in advance of the release with Post Cards. Is there any way to know what is being released ahead of time and pre-orders like they have in Disney World.

We have been collecting since they started in Hollywood Studios. We have also collect a few pieces from Disney Land when we visited this spring. But we like to know how to find out what is next.

        Thanks
        Beth
