Disney to Withdraw Listing on NYSE Arca

BURBANK, Calif. (AP) — Media giant Walt Disney Co. said Friday it plans to withdraw listing of its shares on the online stock exchange NYSE Arca.
Disney said the move will lower costs. The withdrawal will happen within the next two weeks, the company said, adding that it will keep its listing on the New York Stock Exchange.

NYSE Arca was formerly known as the Pacific Stock Exchange.

Separately, Disney also said Friday it had closed its acquisition of computer animation specialist Pixar Animation Studios Inc. The $7.4 billion all-stock transaction was announced in January.

Disney shares rose 8 cents in after-hours trading to $29.17. They had closed up 69 cents, or 2.4 percent, at $29.09 on the Big Board.
