Star Wars and CHOC Stars - GEEKS CORNER #812

0:17
Welcome to Geeks Corner. I'm Mr. Daps.
0:19
>> I'm Katie.
0:20
>> And did you know that The Mandalorian
0:22
debuted on November 12th, 2019
0:25
that came with the launch of Disney
0:28
Plus? I one I did know this. Oh, good.
0:31
>> But two, when I was watching the new uh
0:34
trailer for the Mandalorian and Grou,
0:36
>> which we will be talking about,
0:36
>> which we will be talking about,
0:38
>> I was actually thinking about how that's
0:41
one of the last like
0:43
>> big huge times as a Star Wars fan I have
0:46
felt so like united with the fandom
0:48
>> because I will never forget the feeling.
0:50
It was like 3 in the morning. Um, I
0:53
finished The Mandalor uh I finished
0:54
season season one, episode one of the
0:56
Mandalorian the day it uh premiered. I
0:59
will never forget the last like five
1:01
seconds and you see like
1:04
>> Yeah, that was crazy.
1:04
>> You see Grou and everybody was like
1:07
>> spoiler.
1:08
>> Everybody was like, "What? What is that?
1:10
What? What? Huh? Huh?"
1:12
>> I will never forget.
1:15
>> Which might have been one of the best
1:17
surprises of all time. Like you think of
1:20
that, you think of maybe Luke, I'm your
1:22
father. No, no, I'm your father.
1:23
>> No, I'm your father. Yeah,
1:25
>> maybe in Star Trek the death of um of
1:30
Spock like would be up there, too. But
1:32
that kind of got out there, I think.
1:33
>> But in 2019, the fact the fact they
1:36
could hide it,
1:37
>> it was because they I mean, and it was a
1:40
hard thing because then for Christmas
1:41
that year, kids couldn't get little Baby
1:43
Yoda toys or plushies, whatever.
1:46
>> But so worth it. I actually think it's a
1:49
prime example of why you shouldn't give
1:51
away too much in trailers, but we'll get
1:53
to that later. What should people do
1:54
now, Katie?
1:57
>> You should subscribe uh to hear us, DPS
2:00
Magic. Uh yeah, that was a sentence. Um
2:04
leave me alone. Okay,
2:06
>> go ahead.
2:07
>> Do that. Yes. Also, go into the chat. Um
2:12
share opinions, share thoughts. Uh we
2:14
are at our best when we're having a
2:15
conversation. Also, go to dapshq.com
2:20
>> for some surprise stuff.
2:22
>> There's some surprises happening.
2:24
There's some little secrets that people
2:26
don't know on the main feed. So,
2:28
>> which we do not have an after show
2:30
tonight, but if you're on Daps HQ, you
2:33
will know why. All right, there you go.
2:37
That that's what we've got for you. But
2:38
it has been a very busy week for us.
2:41
We've had several events. I feel like
2:43
lots of things going on, but perhaps
2:46
most importantly, yes, Star Wars is
2:49
important, but more important is the
2:51
chalk walk in the park. We attended a a
2:54
preview, a kickoff, whatever you want to
2:56
call it, earlier last week, I guess, on
2:58
Thursday night. And uh this is really
3:02
the kickoff of the Chalkwalk season.
3:06
Yes, registrations open and and we know
3:09
the date, which is August 2nd, if you
3:11
didn't know. And if you'd like, go to
3:13
chalkwalk.org/dapsmagic
3:15
and join our team. We would love to have
3:17
you. But uh this is really the chance
3:19
where members of the media and special
3:21
guests get an opportunity to get to know
3:25
this year's ambassador, which um oddly
3:28
enough, this year's ambassador family we
3:30
already do know. And uh we've known them
3:33
I think probably almost what
3:36
>> I I looked at when we did Rock for
3:39
Chalk.
3:39
>> Yeah. When was that? That was eight
3:40
years ago.
3:41
>> Eight years ago. So, it's been a long
3:43
time and and we've known them. They're a
3:44
fantastic family and uh we could talk
3:47
about them or we could let them talk
3:50
about themselves. So, watch this video.
3:59
After he passed, we would start to see
4:02
monarch butterflies lots of different
4:04
places on the way to school or on the
4:07
way um at the beach. I've never seen a
4:10
butterfly at the beach. And we walk to
4:11
the beach and all of a sudden a
4:12
butterfly crosses our path.
4:14
>> When he was here with us, um whether it
4:16
be at school, baseball, um even when he
4:20
was coming to chalk, I mean, every
4:22
nothing ever really got him down. Um he
4:24
was just very positive about everything,
4:27
always willing to, you know, give
4:29
somebody a hug or anything like that.
4:31
>> He was diagnosed with acute
4:33
lymphoplastic leukemia. I remember Tim
4:36
was reacting right away and crying
4:40
because it was something that confirmed
4:41
the worst fear. And for me, I was just
4:44
in shock because you never imagined to
4:48
hear those words about your baby. So,
4:51
um,
4:55
within 24 hours, we had a diagnosis. We
5:00
had his first dose of chemo. He had had
5:02
surgery. um he had had a port placement
5:06
and he um and now we had a road map um
5:10
about that what our lives were going to
5:13
look like for the next um 3 and 1/2
5:15
years. This is so life-changing. And
5:18
they said,
5:20
"This is going to be a lot harder on you
5:22
than it is on him." Like kids find ways
5:24
to be kids. That's why we do what we do.
5:27
That's why we work here. Um, but that's
5:31
why Chalk said, "We're here for all of
5:33
you, for the whole family."
5:36
>> Captain America's here.
5:40
>> America, what's going on?
5:42
>> I stole my window.
5:44
>> And now what are you doing?
5:50
>> Yeah.
5:59
Carter was diagnosed in uh on October
6:01
2nd, 2015. So we created team Carter
6:05
strong and um we were able to walk a
6:09
year after he had um been diagnosed. So
6:12
it was a big celebration. We had really
6:15
big team almost 100 people. We had so
6:19
many friends joining us. Um, it was a
6:21
real big celebration and and so much
6:24
fun.
6:27
We found out that he relapsed on July
6:29
5th, 2017. Chalk was there every step of
6:32
the way um to help support us again.
6:35
>> Um, when he passed away, he was actually
6:36
in remission. So, the the treatment did
6:40
its job. Unfortunately, it just takes
6:42
down your immunity. I mean, it strips
6:43
you down so low to kill the cancer that
6:46
it allowed um other foreign things into
6:49
the body, which which eventually was
6:52
what ultimately
6:54
caused his cousin to pass away.
7:01
Getting that news, I immediately wished
7:03
Carter could be here. um that he
7:06
deserves it and um he would have loved
7:08
to be the ambassador, but I know we are
7:12
so honored and grateful to have this
7:15
opportunity to share his story.
7:17
>> I hope he's he knows he left the legacy
7:20
for it. Um yeah, we're just so happy to
7:23
uh be able to support and promote the
7:28
place that means a lot to us.
7:29
Fundraising is a big passion for us. We
7:32
have just pretty much fundraised year
7:35
round. Um it's selfishly it's our way of
7:38
keeping Carter's name present and we
7:42
love to be able to um come together and
7:45
support these causes that are so
7:46
connected to Carter.
7:48
>> One of the fundraisers we do for Chalk
7:51
every year is um a a lemonade stand and
7:55
I believe all of the money goes to
7:57
towards chalk. this is a forever hole in
8:01
our family to be able to advocate for
8:04
those families and for those that are
8:05
not um no longer with us. I would love
8:08
to make sure that no family has to
8:11
endure a pain like we do every day. Um
8:14
so that's what continues to drive us. So
8:16
my hope for the future is a cancer-free
8:18
future. Now they're partnering with um
8:21
Ray Children's and I'm excited for the
8:23
future um that more chalk families will
8:26
have um access to cutting edge research
8:29
and treatment options. Those options for
8:32
families that maybe weren't available
8:34
for Carter, but that the funds that we
8:37
raise are help propelling a future um
8:39
for that dream to be achieved.
8:54
One, fantastic video. Chalk did a
8:58
amazing job with this one. Uh, two, when
9:01
they announced that Carter's family was
9:03
going to be the Ambassador family this
9:04
year and and walk in his honor and
9:07
represent him in his honor, my first
9:09
thought was, how come they haven't been
9:11
already? because they are already
9:14
ambassadors for chalk and advocates for
9:18
um the the cancer cure that they're
9:20
they're seeking and the world seeking
9:22
and uh they are fantastic
9:24
representatives of chalk. Fantastic
9:26
people. I hope you get the chance to
9:28
meet them. If not, you'll get to meet
9:30
them through us as we uh continue to
9:32
share Carter's story and their story and
9:34
uh raise awareness and funds for Chalk.
9:37
So, if you would like to join our team,
9:38
you can go to chalkwalk.org/dapsmagic
9:40
org/dapsmagic or just go to
9:42
chalkwalk.org and search for DAPSMagic.
9:44
Um we'd really love to have you walk
9:46
with us on August 2nd bright and early
9:48
before the sun comes up. And even if you
9:50
can't walk with us or you can't be
9:53
there, you can still join the team. You
9:54
can still fund raise. You can still uh
9:56
help raise awareness for Art Chalk, I
9:59
guess they're calling it now. Uh which
10:01
it's it's for RAY Children's Health
10:05
Orange County.
10:05
>> Yes.
10:06
>> Got it. Um
10:07
>> and and the biggest thing um and they
10:10
they talked about it last week at the
10:12
event is every single dollar is going to
10:15
make a difference. This is not just oh
10:18
well I I don't think I can raise the
10:20
most money or I don't think I have the
10:21
most difference. Um
10:24
Jamie was talking about it with um you
10:26
know you never know who's going to see
10:28
it. You never know who's going to feel
10:30
influenced. You never know um if someone
10:32
is going to want to grow up and they're
10:34
going to want to cure cancer or if you
10:36
just don't know. And I I think that that
10:38
is what is so beautiful and impactful is
10:41
like every single person has the chance
10:45
to make a difference. So let's do it
10:47
together.
10:47
>> And if you're worried about fundraising,
10:49
sign up anyway. We will help you with
10:50
the fundraising. It seems like every
10:52
year I help a couple people make sure
10:54
that they get whatever it is that their
10:56
goals are. And and we have friends of
10:59
ours also that that will help other
11:01
people fundraises as well. And I can
11:03
think of a couple off the top of my head
11:05
that are always willing to give
11:06
shoutouts and and support in that way
11:09
and help uh move these things forward.
11:11
But we hope you'll join our team. It'll
11:12
be a fantastic morning. It makes such a
11:15
huge difference for a fantastic cause
11:16
and it's something that's very uh near
11:19
and dear to the DAP's Magic Heart.
11:23
something that's not so near and dear to
11:25
the ma DAP's magic heart but is near and
11:27
dear to our eyes maybe our ears too I
11:30
don't know uh there's a new standard I'm
11:33
going to call it format it's not really
11:36
a format it's a standard I think
11:37
>> sure
11:38
>> uh that is coming out it's called
11:40
Infinity Vision which I think is
11:42
hilarious because the first movie that
11:44
it's going to be available I believe is
11:46
for Avengers Endgame
11:49
and I don't know if that's where it came
11:51
from But
11:53
>> who's to say?
11:53
>> Who is to say? But Infinity Vision is
11:56
coming out this year. It was announced
11:58
at Cineacon last week. And basically
12:01
what this is going to do is create a new
12:03
standard for viewing and hearing, I
12:06
guess, the whole experience for movies
12:09
that currently are released by Disney
12:11
and I'm sure they hope beyond that. So
12:14
um it's going to require these theaters
12:18
to have the largest screens for maximum
12:20
scale. So it looks great. Laser
12:23
projection.
12:24
>> Lasers
12:25
>> for superior brightness and clarity,
12:26
which I think is a big thing. Yes.
12:28
>> And then also premium audio formats. So
12:30
it's fully immersive sound. And I
12:32
believe there's 70 theaters that are
12:35
already set up for this.
12:36
>> 75.
12:37
>> 75. I was close. But um the light thing
12:41
is the big deal to me because how often
12:43
do you go to movies or you watch movies
12:46
and it just feels dark? Well, I was
12:48
going to say, does this also mean that
12:50
the movies are going to be filmed in
12:52
daylight and no longer in darkness?
12:54
>> Well, I'm wondering if it's if they are,
12:57
but technology hasn't caught up to being
12:59
able to show it. So, I would be curious.
13:02
I didn't see uh Avatar Fire and Ash in
13:05
theaters,
13:06
>> but watching it on the home screen, it
13:08
was fine. like I could see where yeah,
13:10
that could be dark or whatever, but um
13:13
>> but I I am curious if this is going to
13:16
make it not seem as dim when you go to
13:19
the theaters and watch movies. So, uh
13:22
I'm I'm curious. I'm cautiously
13:23
optimistic about this. I think it's a
13:25
great thing that Disney is continuing to
13:28
push the viewing experience forward.
13:30
They have a long legacy with that going
13:32
back to Fantasia and uh you know, it's
13:34
not Fanta Vision. That sounds way more
13:36
excit. But you know what?
13:38
>> If it was named after the Infinity
13:41
Stones
13:42
>> from the Avengers and all that stuff,
13:44
there is a precedent because Fantasia
13:46
Fant, you know, like that.
13:48
>> Yeah,
13:48
>> I don't know. That could be kind of fun.
13:50
We'll see.
13:51
>> All right, let's keep moving right
13:53
along. The Mandalorian and Grou tickets
13:57
are for sale. They're probably going
13:58
very fast. I haven't looked, but uh we
14:01
have our tickets. We will be there
14:02
opening night. And uh this is the first
14:06
Star Wars film to hit the big screen in
14:09
seven years. 2019. Yeah.
14:12
>> Oh boy.
14:13
>> Yeah. Seven years almost. I'm I don't
14:15
remember what time. It was December.
14:16
>> December. So not quite to the month. But
14:19
uh we got a new trailer right before the
14:21
the tickets went on sale last week and
14:24
we have both watched it.
14:26
>> I for one think it's fantastic. I love
14:29
the use of Star Wars music. I don't
14:31
expect it necess necessarily to be in
14:34
there.
14:34
>> Sure.
14:34
>> Like I expect more Mando music to be in
14:38
than than John Williams music, but who
14:41
knows? Maybe they're
14:43
>> maybe they're pulling from it a little
14:44
bit. But uh what do you think of the
14:46
trailer?
14:46
>> I love it. It feels so
14:49
classic Mando. I I have said for a very
14:52
very long time, you can you can run the
14:54
tapes, okay? I've said this for a very
14:56
long time. Season one of The Mandalorian
14:58
is probably my favorite Star Wars
15:00
cannon, period. Um, it is so fun. It is
15:03
so different. It's so fresh feeling. Uh,
15:06
and this trailer feels like that. I will
15:09
say I
15:12
wasn't the biggest fan in the world of
15:14
when it became like, oh, season 3 is
15:17
like Luke and Luke does this and then,
15:20
okay, Book of Boba Fett is now like
15:22
Mando three and a half. And I was like,
15:24
"Okay, this feel it's starting to feel a
15:26
little bit draining." This when he was
15:28
like, "I'm a bounty hunter. You give me
15:31
your deck of bad guys, I'll take them
15:33
all out." I was like, "Yeah,
15:35
Dan Jiren."
15:37
Um, I love everything about this. I also
15:39
love uh the little Baboo Frick guys.
15:42
Don't know their names. That's fine. I
15:45
call them all Baboo Frick. Um,
15:48
amazing. Love them.
15:50
>> They are hilarious. Like I love the
15:52
little interactions happening.
15:53
>> Bad baby. Um, super fan of that. I
15:58
>> I want to see them in Galaxy's Edge.
15:59
Just Just saying.
16:00
>> Like I've I've been asking, put him in a
16:03
tree, please. Um, but yeah, I I am so
16:08
sold on this. I'm so hyped. I hope it
16:10
captures that feeling of the like
16:13
spaghetti western that The Mandalorian
16:15
originally was because that was like my
16:18
favorite Star Wars experience. So, more.
16:20
>> So, here's my question with it all.
16:23
Like, I've I've watched the trailers
16:24
several times now.
16:25
>> Sure.
16:26
>> And I've watched all the trailers at
16:27
least a couple times.
16:28
>> Okay.
16:30
>> Who do we think the villain is?
16:34
Because I wonder if it hasn't been
16:36
revealed yet.
16:37
>> I don't think so, which I like.
16:38
>> And I'm wondering if all of the cast
16:40
lists that we've seen so far are missing
16:43
someone. And who it is, I don't actually
16:46
know. Like it could be Thrawn. It could
16:50
be somebody that's in the cast that ends
16:52
up being a traitor. I
16:53
>> was going to say what if
16:55
>> it's Reaper.
16:56
>> I was going to say what if the villain
16:59
is the resistance.
17:00
>> Maybe
17:01
>> the rebellion. Sorry, that's wrong era.
17:03
>> Well, it'd be the New Republic by then.
17:05
But uh
17:05
>> yes,
17:06
>> I mean that's possible. Or or maybe it's
17:09
a politician in the New Republic. Or
17:11
maybe it's like there's so many
17:13
possibilities for who it could be. And I
17:15
feel like it's very intentional that we
17:17
haven't seen anything about this. And I
17:21
almost feel like it's going to be a at
17:25
the time Baby Yoda moment
17:27
>> where suddenly there's this reveal and
17:30
everybody goes, "What?" So everybody
17:33
stay off the internet when it gets
17:34
closer because as soon as uh the the
17:37
reviews come out, you know, somebody's
17:39
going to leak it. So just stay off X,
17:41
stay off of, you know, all of it. Um,
17:44
but I think I'm wondering like who that
17:47
big bad because I feel like this is such
17:49
a setup for a big bad. Yes. Like there
17:53
has to be some big bad and maybe it's an
17:54
Imperial officer. Uh, you know, like who
17:57
knows? Like I don't think it's or former
17:59
former imperial officer. What?
18:01
>> I think the fats are a distraction.
18:03
>> Yeah. or or they're hired by, you know,
18:06
like I think they're
18:09
>> I think they're a challenge, but I don't
18:12
necessarily think it's the big bad. And
18:14
I could even see there being a
18:18
I'm forgetting the guy, the Jeremy uh
18:20
Allen White's character's name at the
18:22
moment, but
18:23
>> it's something fat.
18:24
>> But you could almost see them end up
18:26
having to come together at the end to
18:28
fight something. I don't know. I'm just
18:30
team. Yeah, they they could put together
18:32
a team and fight whoever this I just
18:35
feel like there has to be a big bad.
18:36
>> There has to be.
18:37
>> And I don't think it's the guy that you
18:38
see as they're showing the guys around
18:40
the table,
18:41
>> which does remind me a little bit of I
18:43
think it was Ahsoka where uh they were
18:45
kind of pulling the
18:47
>> remnants of the Empire back together
18:49
with the hope that Thron return. So
18:51
maybe this is the return of Thron. Like
18:53
who knows?
18:54
>> I would be okay with that.
18:56
>> Return of Thron.
18:57
>> Yeah, this this is this is really Star
18:59
Wars. the return of Thron, not the
19:00
Mandalorian and
19:01
>> Grou. No, don't do that.
19:02
>> I would be I'd be totally okay though
19:04
with a return of Thron. Yes, that would
19:06
be fun.
19:07
>> Um, but who knows? Like, time will tell.
19:10
>> Who's to say?
19:11
>> But that isn't all the Star Wars stuff
19:12
that's happening right now. Next week.
19:15
Next week. That's right.
19:16
>> Holy moly.
19:17
>> Next week, the expanded timeline for
19:20
Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will arrive at
19:23
Disneyland officially on the 29th. If
19:25
you're going to Disneyland after dark
19:27
the night before, you will get a few
19:29
hours early. Um, it'll be interesting
19:32
because it it's it's going to be dark
19:34
then. So, part of me is like
19:37
maybe like how much can you like it'll
19:40
be amazing seeing Darth Vader in the
19:41
dark. Uh,
19:42
>> but I don't know. I think it'll be fun.
19:45
But
19:45
>> scary.
19:46
>> This last week we got a look at the
19:49
characters that are coming to Star Wars
19:51
Galaxy's Edge or the the heroes and
19:54
villains. I guess you could say also.
19:56
So, we're going to take a look at them
19:57
and and share our thoughts. Hopefully,
19:59
they all work. And um let's see. Bam.
20:04
No, it didn't work. Let's see if I go up
20:07
here if it goes now. Huh. There we go.
20:10
>> Yay.
20:11
>> There we go. All right. So, we've got
20:12
Luke, we've got Leia, we've got Han,
20:14
we've got R2-D2, who's already been
20:16
there, and Luke has visited before.
20:19
>> But, uh, what do you think of this look?
20:21
Like, the band is back together. I am
20:25
completely obsessed. I think everything
20:28
about this is amazing. I also love and
20:31
maybe maybe I am in a a minority here. I
20:37
love the looks that Han and Le are in.
20:40
>> They aren't necessarily any one film.
20:43
It's it's not oh it's not Hoth and oh
20:46
it's not A New Hope and oh it's not
20:48
whatever.
20:49
And yes, Hans vest. And people are
20:52
saying, "Oh, the colors." I think they
20:54
look great.
20:56
>> And do they really wear the same clothes
20:58
every day for seven years or whatever it
21:00
is?
21:00
>> They don't when they go visit Batu that
21:03
they aren't in different clothes.
21:05
>> Well, and think of uh of um Padme,
21:10
>> correct?
21:10
>> How many outfits did she have? I think
21:12
it's time for Leia to get some more
21:14
outfits. Clearly Han needs to change
21:16
because laundry needs to happen at some
21:18
point when he's not a bachelor anymore.
21:21
And um I don't know. I think it's great.
21:23
I think this this looks like a lot of
21:24
fun. Um
21:25
>> I can't even begin to tell you how like
21:29
not emotional like cry, but emotional
21:32
happy this photo makes me specifically
21:34
because
21:35
>> it's like a reunion.
21:36
>> Yeah. And as someone who has desperately
21:41
wanted this for seven years in Galaxy's
21:44
Edge, um we had a similar conversation
21:48
last week. Um if it had truly been like
21:51
the immersive
21:53
um the Legends of Frontier Land, the
21:57
Disney parks play up, everything caused
21:59
consequences, everything follows you. I
22:00
would have been all on board. Those
22:02
things weren't realistic and didn't
22:04
happen. And when that was not the
22:07
reality, I immediately was like, "Okay,
22:09
I want all of Star Wars." Like, I want
22:11
to take all of the toys out of the toy
22:12
box. I want to put them all into a Star
22:17
Wars themed land because like, yeah, I
22:19
want to see, especially when R2 showed
22:21
up, I was like, I want to see Han and
22:24
Leia and R2 and Luke and everybody like
22:29
all together in front of the Millennium
22:30
Falcon because the Millennium Falcon's
22:33
right there. I want to see the comic
22:35
book.
22:36
>> Well, okay.
22:37
>> I do. I just I want to see I I want to
22:39
see how they put this into story because
22:41
apparently they have and uh I think that
22:44
comes out this week or next. I don't
22:46
remember. I need to look that up. Um but
22:48
I want to see that comic book. I want to
22:49
read that comic book and and see how
22:52
this all works because I think it looks
22:53
amazing and I think how they storytell
22:56
it will be a lot of fun, too. I also
22:58
think it's very fun as we look at Leia.
23:01
She has a holster
23:03
like
23:03
>> as she should.
23:04
>> Yeah, it's awesome. Like she has a
23:06
holster. She has the the gloves, the
23:09
vest. Like she is ready for battle. And
23:11
I think that's awesome cuz really it it
23:13
actually builds on the whole Batu being
23:16
on the like the wild west of galaxy far
23:20
far away.
23:21
>> Well, and she's wearing a Hanesesque
23:23
belt.
23:24
>> Yeah. I mean, there's there's definitely
23:26
some really good storytelling choice.
23:28
Her hair looks very Leia. Like I think
23:30
that's fantastic. It could be very uh I
23:33
don't know um Empire Strikes Back I
23:36
guess kind of it pops out at me looking
23:38
like. But um
23:39
>> I will say the
23:42
teaser video or the announcement video,
23:45
whatever you want to call it, when um
23:46
they announced Leia
23:47
>> Mhm.
23:49
someone whoever directed that just
23:54
absolute absolutely incredible work
23:56
>> nailed it
23:57
>> because whoever had the idea to say
24:00
here's R2 Leia is going to lean over to
24:03
R2 I was like
24:06
>> well Leia did do that was Leia
24:09
>> well
24:11
whoever pointed the camera and captured
24:13
the moment
24:14
>> there you go
24:15
>> beautiful it was fantastic
24:17
>> I I think if you want to, me as a Star
24:21
Wars fan, if you want to make me cry,
24:23
um, pretty much every single time, uh,
24:28
Leia's plea to R2 to Obi-Wan Kenobi will
24:31
make me cry almost every single time.
24:34
Um, I love Princess Leia, I love Carrie
24:35
Fischer, I love everything, um, about
24:38
that. And so, yeah, I'm so stoked on
24:43
this. Like,
24:46
I don't even know. I cried the time I
24:48
met Princess Leia at Princess.
24:50
>> I'm sure it'll happen again. It'll be
24:51
great. Uh, we also got another picture
24:54
of Luke with R2-D2 in front of the
24:57
Millennium Falcon. Um, I'm excited for
24:59
the return of Luke. I loved when he came
25:02
for season of the Force and just seeing
25:04
families of all generations and ages
25:07
being excited to see Luke. And I think
25:09
that's really the benefit of all this is
25:12
they're not going to just see Luke,
25:13
they're going to see Han, they're going
25:14
to see Leo, Leia, Chewbacca, all all of
25:16
the characters from all sorts of
25:17
different eras um that they're going to
25:19
get to to enjoy. And and then Han and
25:23
Chewy in front of like I actually think
25:27
>> this could end up being when we see them
25:29
in person in front of the Millennium
25:31
Falcon. This could be that Chewy were
25:33
home moment from the Force Awakens. Are
25:36
you kidding me? like like
25:38
>> that's fantastic. And uh just watching
25:41
the video and seeing this picture and
25:44
the other pictures uh you know Han has
25:46
his swagger. Obviously we know and love
25:48
Chewy and um I think that's such that's
25:52
going to be a lot of fun to see. Like I
25:55
I will be curious if they do any of the
25:57
like um avoiding the Empire and you know
26:02
kind of mission work that that Rey has
26:04
done in the past with uh Vim Marotti and
26:08
uh I think that's going to be absolutely
26:10
fantastic.
26:10
>> I mean Han kind of has to because Han is
26:15
known to shoot first and ask questions
26:17
later. Mhm.
26:18
>> So I think if he was to end up in the
26:20
same room as say some troopers
26:23
>> could be fun.
26:24
>> I mean
26:25
>> it makes me wish the cantina was bigger
26:27
so they have a show moment. But
26:29
>> literally was about to say this makes me
26:32
realize that my dream is you stroll into
26:35
Han is there. Han is in one of the
26:37
booths specifically
26:39
because
26:40
>> why not?
26:41
>> Come on.
26:42
>> That's the way it should be.
26:43
>> I'm actually
26:44
Someone get a someone get a photo.
26:47
Disney, if you're listening, I want a
26:49
photo shoot of Han in Ogas.
26:53
>> They might happen. He's walking out of
26:55
it in the in the video. So,
26:57
>> we will see. We're also going to get to
26:58
see Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers,
27:01
which to me, as much as I've always
27:03
wanted to see Han, Leia, and Luke in
27:06
Galaxy's Edge, Darth Vader is the one
27:08
that I think in some ways brings the
27:12
most to it because he is arguably one of
27:15
the best villains of all time.
27:18
>> Like, he's he's scary. You can't see his
27:21
face. Like,
27:22
>> you know him by breathing.
27:24
>> Yes.
27:24
>> Like, that's iconic. And Kylo Ren is
27:26
great,
27:27
>> but Darth Vader will always be Darth
27:30
Vader. Like, there's no way to beat
27:32
Darth Vader. Like, yes, there is. But,
27:34
but like as a villain, I just think he
27:37
is absolutely fantastic. It's going to
27:39
be amazing. It makes me wish like
27:42
>> I'm ass sure there's going to be an
27:43
arrival moment like Kylo Ren had, but it
27:46
makes me want even more because
27:50
>> I will so also say if if Mr. Vader is
27:55
going around
27:56
um going around the Galaxy's Edge like
27:59
Kylo was and you know interrogating and
28:01
making sure that people's alliances were
28:03
in the right place.
28:05
If if Darth Vader does that I
28:09
>> I can't wait.
28:09
>> I'm scared.
28:10
>> I can't wait.
28:11
>> That's that is a little too scary for
28:13
me. It's going to be fantastic
28:15
>> cuz you have like as we're Kylo we have
28:18
10ish 15ish years and like people like
28:21
okay cool I know Kylo Ren Darth Vader
28:25
interrogating you and saying where is
28:28
your allegiancem no goodbye
28:31
>> think of little kids scared during Jedi
28:32
training academy also it's awesome just
28:35
one more point on this picture it's
28:36
awesome to see Darth Vader and the
28:38
Stormtroopers in Galaxy's Edge during
28:40
the day yes with light I thought it was
28:42
super cool seeing the dark pictures when
28:44
they announced this, but seeing this,
28:47
it makes him look that much more
28:50
imposing and scary. All right, we will
28:52
also see Ahsoka still there. Basically
28:55
the same place she still is. Fantastic.
28:58
Love Ahsoka. She's got another season
28:59
coming out soon. Uh, can't go wrong with
29:02
that. Then
29:04
ahead of his movie, he's not going
29:06
anywhere either. Mando and Grou will be
29:07
there. Can't wait for that. Like I'm
29:10
curious if they add somebody or
29:12
something or whatever once once the
29:15
movie comes out or will it be like
29:17
Millennium Falcons enough which it is.
29:19
>> I'm so excited.
29:20
>> Um also great. And then over in the
29:23
resistance encampment will be Ray
29:25
Skywalker and um I guess she's still
29:28
just Ry at this point. Who knows? We'll
29:30
see what the the comic book says.
29:32
>> Well, I mean
29:33
>> I mean she's still Ray Skywalker.
29:34
>> She's still Ray Skywalker.
29:35
>> But yes, she just might have not have
29:37
discovered it. And I think this is a
29:38
great picture. Like uh shout out to
29:40
Christian at uh Disney for taking all
29:42
these pictures because he did an
29:44
absolutely fantastic job with them.
29:47
>> She looks so cool.
29:48
>> She does. All of
29:49
>> uh I I just think
29:52
>> I think everybody wins with this and
29:54
it's going to be so cool because
29:55
everybody can go see more or less their
29:58
favorite character and it'll be fun to
30:00
see how that plays out in the near
30:01
future. Um, it'll also be fun as Mando
30:05
and Grou come out and as time moves
30:07
forward and we get more Star Wars
30:08
stories to see who appears in the land.
30:12
>> Like, will we get somebody from Starf
30:14
Fighter? Who knows? Will we get somebody
30:15
new from Ahsoka or will we see Hera come
30:17
back? Like, there's lots of
30:19
possibilities. So,
30:21
>> you might. You might. You never know.
30:23
But, we are running out of time for
30:25
tonight. So, Katie, what should people
30:27
