0:36
>> Welcome to Photo Nicks. I'm Mr. Daps.
0:38
And I'm Clocky. And today we are going
0:40
to look at photos of Disneyland like we
0:43
have in for the past 18 other episodes
0:45
or 16 other episodes. 16 other episodes.
0:48
>> Mhm. And these photos are not from the
0:50
summer of love, but they're sure darn
0:52
close, aren't they?
0:53
>> They are very close. They're actually
0:54
from the spring of almost love. So,
0:56
we're going to look at photos from 1964
0:59
springtime. Uh, these are images that
1:01
were all uh slides from one uh trip to
1:04
Disneyland. I picked out, I think, the
1:06
most springiest of them. Uh, they're all
1:08
dated. They were all printed in March,
1:11
but looking at them, they're definitely
1:13
at least late late winter, which now is
1:16
early spring.
1:18
>> So, it's time to look at some springtime
1:20
crush photos. Is that what we're saying?
1:22
Since summer of love and crush comes
1:26
You know what? We We are going to have
1:28
fun today. You [laughter] bet.
1:30
>> Make sure we're
1:32
[clears throat] Go for
1:33
>> Make sure we're Oh, yeah. We'll do this.
1:36
Make sure wherever you're listening or
1:37
wherever you're watching to uh like and
1:39
subscribe. Comment on anything that you
1:41
see that we didn't see. And we're going
1:44
to look at a lot. The these pictures are
1:46
they were fun to look at uh last night,
1:49
night before, and they'll be fun to look
1:51
at with friends. So, let me pull up
1:54
springtime.
1:57
>> And this is extra fun because while you
1:59
have seen these before, I have not.
2:01
>> Correct.
2:01
>> And maybe I've seen like one or two just
2:03
in passing or something, but uh [snorts]
2:06
the odds are I haven't seen them and I'm
2:08
not aware of them for these this
2:09
episode. So,
2:10
>> it's always fun to look even closer than
2:12
we have before. So, here we have a
2:14
beautiful spring day [snorts]
2:16
>> in Disneyland
2:18
>> and on Main Street USA. We have the
2:20
Matterhorn in the back. We have the
2:22
Wooler Music Hall on the right. We've
2:25
got the Emporium on the left and just
2:28
some people walking around. I see I
2:30
think that's even a fur coat there as
2:32
well as
2:33
>> full dresses. Short sleeves here though.
2:35
We got a guy with short sleeves short
2:37
sleeve shirt getting ready to take
2:39
either the sur wagon.
2:41
>> He's from up north.
2:42
>> Yeah, definitely. [laughter]
2:44
>> I do love looking at this too. You've
2:46
got the cannon that's still in the
2:48
walkway, which I can remember it being
2:50
like that years ago. And uh now, of
2:54
course, it's in the planter. [snorts]
2:57
And the other we I see while we're
2:59
looking at garbage cans, I see one here,
3:02
one here. That's two, three there, four
3:05
there. That's a solid five there. Yeah.
3:08
>> Wow. It's also interesting how similar
3:10
those garbage cans are to what they are
3:12
today. Like
3:13
>> Oh, yeah.
3:13
>> The general color scheme is the same. Is
3:15
it the same painting? No, but in fact,
3:19
it's almost switched, isn't it?
3:20
>> A little bit. And also same location.
3:22
The There is a garbage can right here.
3:24
There is a garbage [snorts] can, right?
3:25
Because I know there's a mailbox right
3:26
there and a garbage can next to it.
3:28
>> Yeah. I mean, we've leaned against these
3:30
garbage cans many a time.
3:32
>> It is. I wish you could read what it
3:34
says in the main street cinema in the
3:36
background, too, because that's kind of
3:38
cool to see.
3:39
>> And uh and it's fun to see the Matter
3:41
Horn in the background. Like there is
3:43
this view is always fun because there's
3:45
something about the
3:48
possibility of what's coming as you're
3:50
entering or entering into Disneyland and
3:52
it's before you've gotten to see the
3:53
castle. But when you do go that left
3:55
way, which is not super often for me,
3:58
there are fun things to see as you're
4:00
walking in and uh the possibilities. The
4:03
other like small details I can see is we
4:06
have the Yale lock company. So the key
4:09
is there as well as you can barely see
4:12
it here, but it's the Hallmark gold
4:13
crown store. So you see the Hallmark
4:16
Crown right across which is now
4:17
Disneyers,
4:19
>> but before
4:20
>> Yeah. And then you can see the old wood
4:24
where market house I guess you call it
4:26
now, Starbucks,
4:27
>> which is a more traditional look for
4:30
that space than I think it's all painted
4:31
now. Is that correct?
4:33
>> Most of it. Yeah. But yeah, it's got the
4:36
Well, that might be painted a red color,
4:38
though. Oh, okay. I remember it feeling
4:41
more like wood 20 years ago or whatever
4:44
it was. Maybe even 30 years ago back in
4:46
the day. It'd be fun to go back and look
4:48
at some of my not as old of this as this
4:51
pictures.
4:53
But yeah, this one's a fun photo. Plus,
4:55
we've got the the sign for the horseless
4:59
carriages.
5:02
>> You can see zero mailboxes, though.
5:04
There would have been one right over
5:05
here on the left, but
5:06
>> just slightly out of
5:08
>> just out of just actually or it's that
5:10
little piece right there next to that
5:11
lady.
5:12
>> Oh, so that ladies in the way. I see. I
5:14
love their bags, too.
5:15
>> Oh, yeah.
5:16
>> Like look at the size of that bag.
5:18
[laughter]
5:18
>> Well, and and handbags.
5:21
>> Yeah, that that's not going over your
5:22
shoulder. You're carrying that
5:24
>> all day. Bag.
5:26
>> Same thing with There's another one
5:27
there.
5:28
>> You don't really see many of those
5:29
anymore, do you?
5:31
>> Well, not really. I mean, most
5:32
Disneyland, you know, pushing a stroller
5:35
instead.
5:36
>> Maybe maybe Dapper Day.
5:38
>> Yeah.
5:39
>> Furs. You don't see F.
5:43
>> Once again, only Dapper Day. Um, it is
5:45
interesting.
5:47
>> Yeah. Well, they're fake, but
5:49
>> Yeah.
5:51
Huh. Very fun.
5:54
And we see tree growth. So, this is 64
5:57
trees. So, we're looking at some tree
5:58
growth here and there. and we'll go to
6:01
the next which is
6:03
>> Oh, this is fun.
6:04
>> This is a great one. I realize we we
6:06
haven't done enough of Tomorrowland. So,
6:10
this one's fun. And actually looking at
6:11
this one even more. Uh we've got the
6:14
Autotopia with all the cars lined up
6:16
ready to go. We have someone
6:19
walk this where I'm trying to think
6:20
where we are.
6:21
>> She's getting off the train. This is
6:22
this is the uh Tomorrowland train
6:24
station
6:26
and we had I'm going to ask this
6:28
question. We had that in ' 64.
6:31
>> I'm pretty sure.
6:32
>> Okay.
6:33
>> I could be wrong, but like I'm I'm
6:35
fairly confident that this is the
6:36
Tomorrowland train station.
6:38
>> That that is that is likely right
6:39
because we moved or not we I didn't do
6:41
it. You didn't do it, but Disneyland
6:42
[laughter] did it. Moved the viewer
6:47
station uh overhang over to Tomorrowland
6:50
to be the Tomorrowland one. So, that
6:51
would make sense here. Plus, we have the
6:53
Tomorrowland fencing. We have
6:55
attractions
6:57
attraction posters underneath what is
7:00
the skyway. That's the that's the
7:02
takeoff and
7:04
>> landing of the skyway.
7:06
>> How fun is that?
7:07
>> Right. Two skyway buckets.
7:09
>> The rocket in the background.
7:11
>> Yeah. The the do the Douglas rocket.
7:14
>> Once you've seen Disneyland handcrafted,
7:16
you never see a rocket the same.
7:19
>> Never look at that the same.
7:21
in the far background you could that's
7:24
the top of the Disneyland hotel I'm
7:26
pretty sure
7:26
>> is that really
7:29
do I also see what is that plaza in
7:31
front of it or something this this is
7:34
either I don't think plaza is that tall
7:36
this is either
7:36
>> emporium
7:37
>> emporium
7:39
is emporium tallest I think the emporium
7:41
is taller than I think so yeah then
7:44
>> can I zoom in yeah
7:46
>> yeah that's the that's the emporium and
7:48
>> oh and that now that you've zoomed in I
7:50
can tell it's Yeah.
7:51
>> Disney hotel. That's crazy.
7:55
>> And just look at the I love the old
7:57
Autotopia cars.
7:59
>> Yeah.
8:00
>> Like if I had my way with Autotopia,
8:02
they would make them electric or clean
8:04
air or whatever and look like this cuz I
8:06
just think these are so fun. Like
8:09
speaking of electric, there's even the
8:10
little gas stations here. The little gas
8:12
pumps.
8:13
>> Yeah. Good. I do. We have any uh garbage
8:18
cans that you can see.
8:19
>> Let's see.
8:21
You think there would be one here?
8:22
>> Because I I definitely thought at first
8:24
the uh pumping station was
8:28
I don't see any.
8:33
>> No, I don't see any.
8:34
>> It's also interesting looking at this. I
8:37
don't know that the fencing has changed
8:39
at all for this train station since
8:41
then.
8:41
>> No.
8:42
>> Like maybe the color has. I mean, the
8:44
color has changed, but I think they
8:46
still have those like square
8:48
>> the
8:49
>> diamond. Yeah.
8:51
>> Yeah. Like, I think that's pretty much
8:53
the same as it is today.
8:57
>> That's very fun. Yeah. I don't see any
8:58
garbage cans though.
9:01
>> So, Skyway,
9:02
>> feast or famine with those today. Huh.
9:05
So, these uh attraction posters for the
9:08
Colombia, for 20,000 leagues under the
9:10
sea or or submarine attraction, Skyway,
9:13
there's there's Monro and the um
9:16
Storybook Land Canal Boat.
9:17
>> Storybook land. Mhm.
9:19
>> I mean, as a preview for our next
9:21
episode because I was looking for this.
9:23
This right here is the old Automat
9:25
restaurant.
9:28
>> So, this would have been an eating
9:30
location before they added uh everything
9:33
over here. So all the um
9:37
>> um
9:38
>> carousel progress and everything like
9:39
that was right here. There was just a
9:41
restaurant there.
9:44
>> So that is a fun one.
9:47
>> It's amazing how different the skyline
9:49
is now from that direction. Well, and
9:51
you have that big autotopia thing. I
9:53
guess it's a little bit to the right
9:54
now, but there's still there's just a
9:57
lot of things blocking the view now.
9:59
>> Oh, yeah. Well, and I I'd be curious to
10:01
go back and and look towards the design
10:04
hotel and go, can I even see the top of
10:06
it? I was trying to decide if you could
10:09
or not. I mean, that'd be fun the next
10:10
time you're in town to hop on the train
10:12
and do like a little video of us cuz
10:15
this is basically, if I'm right, this is
10:18
the second to last car if you're on the
10:20
train, usually if it's one of the the uh
10:24
>> sidefacing cars. And uh we could get
10:27
this the shot very easily, I think.
10:29
Yeah, this Yeah, this shot still exists.
10:31
Although, it'd be hard to line up
10:32
anything other than these fences because
10:35
everything else has changed. And this
10:36
this show building, I mean, that's still
10:38
>> that show building's still a show
10:41
building,
10:41
>> but the fences would be the way we could
10:43
get it, I think. [snorts]
10:45
>> That's cool.
10:46
>> For sure. All right. Next, we go
10:47
>> watch. Somebody's going to tell us they
10:49
actually flipped all the fences about 10
10:51
years ago. Oh, okay. Oh, this is fun.
10:54
Yeah, this is one of my favorite photos
10:56
of this because of everything is that's
10:58
going on. We have the CK Holiday pulling
11:01
into or getting ready to leave the train
11:03
station, the Santa Fe and Disneyland
11:05
Railroad, so still both u ownerships. We
11:08
have the information stand that's also a
11:10
a sales location. We have the tunnel
11:12
that everyone swears that you don't walk
11:14
through to coming in. So maybe we're
11:16
leaving. [laughter]
11:17
And then the the new stand on the right
11:20
kind of one of the last shops before
11:22
leaving Disneyland u or before leaving
11:24
the the burm for sure um there as well.
11:28
But these
11:30
>> these pennants right here I've I've got
11:32
one of them behind me. So it's fun to
11:33
see awesome the cell the sales of these
11:36
objects as well as those are all
11:38
postcards.
11:40
So fun times. Isn't it interesting too
11:43
like when you think of a traditional
11:46
Main Street that this is representative
11:49
of, I don't really think of a castle
11:52
looking uh informational, [laughter]
11:54
right? Like it's it's kind of
11:56
interesting because I think sometimes we
11:58
get into this like, oh, you know, back
12:00
in the old days they would never do
12:01
something like that and then you see
12:03
this and you're like, well, yeah, there
12:04
were some things that kind of stuck out
12:07
>> and uh and it's a crossover piece,
12:09
right? I mean, granted, this is well
12:11
before you get to the castle, but the
12:13
this the [snorts] blue and white is a
12:15
tent tent look or or umbrella look, but
12:18
yeah,
12:18
>> it almost feels like it should be in in
12:20
Fantasy Land,
12:21
>> right? Or could be in or they made one
12:23
for Fantasy Land as well.
12:25
>> Or they could move it, [laughter]
12:27
>> right?
12:28
>> I'm trying to
12:29
>> I love the uh the haircuts and the suits
12:32
happening here. I think I see a bow tie
12:33
even uh the far guy on the right. If
12:36
that looks like a bow tie or is that
12:38
just a bush in the background?
12:40
>> That might be a bush in the background.
12:41
But
12:42
>> I like the idea that's a bow tie better.
12:44
>> Yeah.
12:47
>> And yeah, the CK holiday.
12:50
This This one's a good one. I like this
12:52
this photo.
12:52
>> That is That is very fun. It's also I
12:56
feel like a different kind of tree
12:58
that's overhanging there.
12:59
>> Yeah,
13:01
>> just looking at the leaves are a lot
13:02
more tropical than what you see on Main
13:04
Street now.
13:07
I could be completely wrong. I don't
13:08
know what country that is.
13:09
>> These lights. Now, now it makes me want
13:10
to go back and look at a nighttime photo
13:12
of of this
13:15
>> information booth to see what these
13:16
lights looked like lit up.
13:20
All right.
13:20
>> Yeah, that would be fun.
13:22
>> Next one.
13:24
Here we have the Mark Twain riverboat.
13:27
>> I love this.
13:28
>> This one's great. I I chose this one
13:30
specifically from this batch because it
13:32
was a full I have about 10 or 12 slides
13:36
from this trip from from these people.
13:38
I'm assuming these people because I
13:40
think we've seen her hair.
13:41
>> Okay.
13:41
>> The other Yeah.
13:42
>> photo,
13:44
>> but this gazebo here is just wild to
13:46
look at because I don't know how long it
13:48
was there. I don't have too many photos
13:50
or images of it.
13:51
>> Uh so it's a great one to kind of see
13:53
and go, "Yeah, that there was a gazebo
13:55
there and I wonder what happened to it."
13:57
Well, and and the lights that are
14:00
hanging across on the wire also. Like
14:02
that's not something you see very often,
14:04
I don't think.
14:06
>> There's not a lot of pictures of
14:08
Frontier Land at night from
14:11
>> anytime really when you think about it.
14:13
>> Until recent years,
14:14
>> light up lit up is the only thing you'd
14:17
really see often.
14:18
>> You and even that I feel like is from
14:20
the other side.
14:22
>> True.
14:24
Like do you ever really see from this
14:27
you know in frontier land proper facing
14:30
towards the mark? Maybe occasionally but
14:31
I don't I don't Yeah, especially in
14:34
older pictures I don't feel like you see
14:36
that as often.
14:37
>> Um it is fun to see they've got the
14:39
Columbia stand over there on the right
14:41
which some things never change except
14:43
the paint job.
14:47
>> Yeah, we have someone pushing a
14:48
stroller.
14:49
>> The benches are nice.
14:51
>> Benches. I think that's a popcorn box or
14:53
possibly a map in a hurry.
14:56
>> Yeah. And then the uh the flags that
14:58
have been there, you know, you don't
14:59
realize how long things have been there.
15:01
You think, "Oh, that may have updated
15:02
when they added Fantastic." But no, the
15:04
flags with the little sayings under them
15:06
of what flag it was. That's all there.
15:09
>> That is very fun.
15:11
>> This one's a good one. Yep. Oh, and then
15:12
and actually you can see the Columbia.
15:13
That's Columbia right there.
15:14
>> Yeah. Oh, you're right. You're right. It
15:15
is interesting how much is exactly the
15:18
same and how much is completely
15:20
different. Oh yeah,
15:21
>> because if we were standing I mean we're
15:23
kind of where that little stage is now
15:26
where you can meet Miguel or uh
15:29
>> or Yeah.
15:30
>> or Mirabel, you know, the KTO
15:32
characters.
15:33
>> Yeah.
15:35
>> And there'd be there'd be stuff in your
15:37
way, I think, right now. Cuz
15:40
>> while the walkway is basically the same
15:42
that's going across in front, I would
15:44
tend to guess we're right in the middle
15:46
of rocks or something.
15:47
>> Right. Well, and then and then just this
15:49
little patch of of
15:51
>> uh foliage of having the flowers and
15:53
just just a rock. I mean, no fence, just
15:55
rocks
15:56
>> and the uh the benches.
16:00
>> All right, I think we have another
16:01
photo. Oh, this one I also enjoy.
16:04
>> Oh, I like this one.
16:05
>> I thought we had used this photo before
16:07
and I had to go back and look and I was
16:08
like, "Oh, no. We haven't used this."
16:09
But I really
16:09
>> I was say I don't think we have. Look at
16:11
how many benches though,
16:12
>> right? [laughter] How many benches?
16:15
But here
16:16
>> this is so so this is Magnolia Park
16:18
today,
16:19
>> right?
16:20
>> If I'm correct. Is that
16:21
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So this is
16:23
obvious the Columbia is docked at the
16:25
Fowlers Harbor. We have got the Mark
16:27
Twain going by. We have a a ticket
16:29
booth. That's just a ticket booth in the
16:31
middle of nowhere.
16:32
>> Um
16:33
>> and then over far left would This is 64.
16:38
Actually, this is 64. So the haunted
16:41
mansion was about to be the the facade
16:43
was about to be erected or had been
16:45
erected
16:47
over there. So that would have been the
16:49
end of kind of uh the Indian territory.
16:53
>> It's crazy.
16:54
>> But this is all frontier land. So new no
16:56
New Orleans Square. This is the
16:58
transition
17:00
before
17:01
>> which I think there'd be something
17:02
pretty magical about that cuz that would
17:04
create a more I mean Disneyland Paris
17:07
has it where it's kind of the frontier
17:09
really does go off into the frontier
17:11
>> and uh in some ways I think in recent
17:14
years with how they've expanded
17:16
uh New Orleans Square straight into
17:19
Bayou country. It makes more sense now
17:21
in that regard because you're like,
17:23
"Okay, well the frontier land actually
17:24
is the other direction now instead of
17:28
>> that, you know, it goes up north instead
17:30
of west." But there's always that kind
17:31
of in your head of like, well, no, the
17:33
frontier should go west. Um, but um are
17:37
there any garbage cans? Is that one
17:39
right in the front middle? There's one
17:40
there. There's two there. And there's a
17:42
third here. And then two drinking
17:44
fountains.
17:45
>> So two drinking fountains over there.
17:48
>> And then Yeah. Tom Island raft. Oh yeah.
17:52
And I love just seeing the grass. Yeah.
17:56
Like there is something so refreshing
17:58
about that and it will and weird. I'm
18:01
going to just flat out say it's it's
18:02
weird to see grass without a fence. And
18:05
>> yeah,
18:06
>> it's very parklike and I do love that.
18:10
Look all those benches. All those
18:12
benches just line.
18:14
>> It's almost like where should we put
18:16
them? Ah, just throw them over there.
18:17
>> Throw them over there. We'll use them
18:19
somewhere else later.
18:21
>> Uhhuh.
18:22
>> Yeah. So, this would have been boarding
18:24
for going over to Tom Island. So, this
18:26
is just kind of another
18:28
>> That is so cool.
18:29
>> Yeah.
18:31
>> And in this one, you can see both the
18:32
Mark Twain and the Colombia.
18:37
>> Wow.
18:40
>> All right.
18:42
Nope. Do I
18:43
>> That's where you wish you had the
18:44
pictures of today where you could just
18:46
kind of like scan around more. Like
18:48
>> Oh, yeah.
18:49
>> Like that one you could get lost in and
18:51
go explore some more.
18:53
>> And here we have the springtime castle
18:57
with the new Cinderella castle paint
18:59
job. Right. [laughter]
19:02
>> Maybe not.
19:03
>> That does that [clears throat] does look
19:04
better. Uh but here we have the uh you
19:07
can see the top of the chicken of the
19:09
sea pirate ship.
19:10
>> Oh, good eye. Mhm.
19:11
>> And then just people walking back and
19:14
forth through the drawbridge.
19:16
>> So busy.
19:17
>> No, no, so busy. No fencing.
19:20
>> I'm trying to figure out what this is
19:22
other than maybe a sign for something
19:24
like a Showtime sign. I'll have to look
19:27
for it in other photos, but this is an
19:29
odd piece here.
19:31
>> Yeah,
19:32
>> it's likely in the grass because here we
19:34
have the two of the lights. You can kind
19:36
of see the lights that would turn on to
19:38
show your path. Um and and again, no no
19:41
fencing, just grassy area.
19:44
>> That's amazing.
19:46
And very little uh
19:50
greenery climbing up the the castle at
19:52
this point,
19:52
>> right? You can see
19:53
>> you can see a little bit on the right.
19:54
>> Yeah. But but the left Yeah, it's
19:58
a little bit less. But yeah, there's the
20:00
>> It's always weird when you see the
20:02
castle this open just because of how
20:04
different the perspective is.
20:07
>> Oh, yeah. like the walls look so much
20:09
taller
20:14
and it looks more you I don't want to
20:17
say fortress-like but almost
20:18
fortress-like.
20:20
>> It It's more uh intimidating. Yeah.
20:24
Medieval.
20:25
>> Like it has a little bit Yeah. There's a
20:27
little bit more of a
20:29
>> It's more stoic.
20:31
>> Yeah. In strength. Like it almost has a
20:34
more
20:38
It's interesting because you feel like
20:39
this castle you could imagine a knight
20:41
coming out of. And the way it's
20:45
designed, painted, all of that today,
20:46
you expect a princess to come out.
20:48
>> Like one you live in and one is more of
20:51
a a
20:53
guardian that you also live it. you
20:55
know,
20:55
>> it's protecting fantasy land [snorts] as
20:58
opposed to I mean, it's not not that
21:00
it's not inviting. It's still a castle.
21:01
But
21:02
>> yeah, but there's a there's a definite
21:04
different uh vibe that and story that
21:08
comes out of each of those. Um I still
21:10
wonder how many people fell into the
21:14
>> the water there.
21:15
>> The fact that you could just walk right
21:16
into it
21:17
>> and like how how many for each age? Like
21:20
did little Timmy fall in the moat or was
21:22
it Grandpa Joe? You know, like
21:23
>> Yeah. Yeah. Did Did Who Who who who
21:25
[laughter]
21:26
was told, "Oh, go go go stand over there
21:28
by the curb." Okay. To take a step back
21:30
and then fall right in.
21:32
>> Exactly. Exactly.
21:34
Oh, man. That would be so good to see.
21:39
>> All right.
21:39
>> And no garbage cans in this one.
21:40
>> No garbage cans in this one. We're going
21:42
to get to the hardest part of our show,
21:46
and that is
21:48
what's your favorite photo. This one's
21:50
hard. This This one
21:51
>> It is hard. There's a lot of good
21:53
photos. this week. Can we Can we scroll
21:55
through them slowly real quick?
21:57
>> Okay, so here we have Main Street.
21:59
>> Mhm.
22:00
>> Here we have Tomorrowland.
22:03
Then we move over to back to Main Street
22:06
and the uh the train.
22:08
>> We get go back to the Mark Twain.
22:11
>> Oh yeah, that one's good, too.
22:13
>> Then we go to
22:15
the busy and very springforward um
22:19
>> two boats in a yard.
22:20
>> Two boats. Yeah, two boats in and enough
22:23
benches to drown someone and then the
22:26
castle
22:27
>> or to make a raft out of, you know,
22:28
>> to make a raft. [laughter]
22:30
>> I I don't think the iron on those would
22:32
do anything uh to help get rid of that
22:35
river like Yeah, that that's not going
22:36
to You can make a a bridge with them,
22:38
though.
22:38
>> Make a bridge.
22:39
>> Um I think I'm going to go with the
22:41
Tomorrowland picture.
22:43
>> Tomorrowland photo.
22:44
>> Excellent choice.
22:46
>> I'm gonna That man, they're all good.
22:48
I'm gonna go with
22:49
>> they really are
22:50
>> the main street with the train.
22:52
>> I can see making a postcard of this on
22:54
top of the fact that I just I love
22:57
looking being able to look into
22:59
>> um you know you be able to see the
23:01
Montreal track being able to see the the
23:04
fact that you used to walk out and just
23:05
go to your car. Can't you just imagine
23:08
like as you were saying that I could
23:10
totally I just had flashbacks of walking
23:12
out for lunch or in the end of the day
23:14
or whatever to go to the car and
23:16
>> maybe it was just to get a jacket or
23:18
something. But yeah, I mean back then
23:21
the difference now
23:23
is [laughter]
23:24
if you needed something out of your car,
23:26
you go, you know what, can I just buy it
23:28
in the emporium
23:30
>> because it's gonna be an hour.
23:31
[laughter]
23:31
>> It's gonna be an hour to go to the car
23:33
and come back. Uhhuh.
23:34
>> Whereas whereas back then it's like,
23:36
"Oh, well, it'll it'll be 20 minutes and
23:38
if I forgot my ticket, I I will pay $1
23:40
to get back in."
23:42
>> Yeah. Back back in the simple days. Uh
23:46
progress, right? See, we need to do a
23:50
carousel of progress episode. I just
23:52
realized I don't know exactly what that
23:53
looks like, but
23:55
>> Oh. Oh, that'd be
23:57
>> not not like literally, but like
23:59
thematically is is my thought process
24:01
with this. I mean, now we're just now
24:03
we're just you're listening to us make
24:05
our next episodes. But if we did
24:07
something like the now and then photos,
24:10
but I was able to get
24:12
>> a 50s60s7s
24:14
80s 90s and today photo of
24:17
>> around the same area.
24:19
>> That would be it. That would be the way
24:21
to do it. That would be that'd be a lot
24:22
of fun. Or if you really wanted to swing
24:25
for the fences, you find somebody that
24:28
like has given 60, 70 years worth of
24:31
photos somewhere and you get the same
24:33
family
24:34
>> in the park through the years. Yeah.
24:36
Well, decades or whatever. Like that
24:38
would be insane. That almost has to be a
24:40
family member, you know. But if you like
24:42
this idea, let us know in the comments
24:44
or on social media.
24:45
>> Photos of you and Disneyland from 195 to
24:48
the present. We will take all of them.
24:50
[snorts]
24:50
>> We're looking at you, Doug. Maybe. Maybe
24:52
you're the guy. Um,
24:54
>> but be sure to comment.
24:56
>> He might be the one. Anyway,
24:57
>> he might be the one. Yeah. Uh, be sure
24:59
to comment on uh whatever social media
25:01
platform which photo you like the best.
25:03
I will try to get these photos up uh
25:05
before summertime and we will see what
25:09
photos everyone enjoys. I This one's a
25:11
hard one. I think I've chose especially
25:13
from one family taking all those photos.
25:16
a photo from almost every land and then
25:18
a photo of just a lot going on, a lot to
25:21
look at, a lot of landscape. Uh so,
25:23
thank you whoever family that was that
25:25
got those slides and now that they are
25:27
in my collection,
25:28
>> we I will keep sharing them.
25:30
>> They're beautiful and uh yeah, it was
25:32
hard to pick which one. I could have I
25:34
could have probably picked any of them
25:35
and been happy,
25:37
>> right? the the New Norland Square one or
25:39
well the future New Orleans Square one I
25:41
really like because it's just
25:43
>> this was a very specific time before
25:45
some that all changed and it's changed
25:47
again. So
25:48
>> and it's so recognizable too like you
25:50
know exactly where that is but [snorts]
25:53
>> very different.
25:54
>> Yeah.
25:55
>> All right. Well, hopefully you've
25:56
enjoyed this episode of Photo Nicks.
