Top 5 Big Disney Announcements from D23 Day 2! | Horizons & Imagineering News 4K 🏰✨🔮

0:05
Hi, I'm Mr. Daps and I just returned
0:06
from the second day of D23, the ultimate
0:09
Disney fan event, where there were a ton
0:12
of things happening throughout the day.
0:13
There were panels, there were amazing
0:15
segments on the Imagineering Pavilion
0:18
stage. There was so much to do and to
0:20
see, but most of the news came out of
0:22
Horizons, a carousel of progress, the
0:25
Disney Experiences Showcase tonight at
0:27
the Honda Center. Now, there were a lot
0:30
of things that I could pick as the top
0:31
five, but I'm going to pick the top five
0:34
that resonated most with me at the
0:36
moment, I think. First off, Imagineering
0:40
Story. It's getting a second season.
0:42
Leslie Eyeworks is getting unprecedented
0:44
access to Imagineering and telling the
0:47
Imagineering story as it happens, as she
0:50
documents it rather than going back in
0:52
archives, which I'm sure there will
0:53
still be some of that stuff happening.
0:55
Still got a ways to wait for that. I
0:56
think she said 28 is when that will be
0:59
coming out, but it is something to look
1:01
forward to. And the sizzle reel or
1:03
teaser or whatever they showed us was
1:04
really quite amazing. Second, we now
1:08
know who will be playing both father and
1:10
mother in Carousel of Progress when it
1:12
opens next year. And that will be Brian
1:15
Cranston as father and Jamie Lee Curtis
1:18
as mother. And people were very excited
1:21
about this in the room, including me.
1:23
It'll be great. I can't wait to see how
1:26
this ends up being completed. And we got
1:28
a a look at Halloween of the8s.
1:31
Incredible concept art and it just keeps
1:34
getting better and better. It really
1:36
seems like Disney is listening to the
1:38
fans, really trying to um internalize
1:43
what the fans are saying and connect and
1:45
move forward in a way that's going to
1:48
make new and old fans very happy. And
1:50
I'm very happy to see this. Speaking of
1:53
listening to fans, one of the things
1:54
that for many years has been a request,
1:58
a joke, you name it, the Yeti at
2:01
Disney's Animal Kingdom. That is right.
2:03
The Yeti in Expedition Everest will be
2:06
getting fixed. Who would have ever
2:08
guessed that? We don't have a timeline
2:10
on this, but it is happening and it will
2:12
be amazing once it does. Can't wait for
2:16
that. Next, the last two, easily the two
2:20
biggest stories of the day, perhaps of
2:22
the weekend if I were to make a guess.
2:24
Tomorrowland at Disneyland will be
2:28
getting redone. This is something fans
2:30
have been asking for for many years, and
2:33
it seems to been falling on deaf ears.
2:35
There has been lots of discussion about
2:37
what Tomorrowland could be, what
2:39
Tomorrowland should be, what should be
2:40
done about those wonderful walls at the
2:42
entrance of Tomorrowland. What I can
2:45
tell you, we still don't know. But what
2:48
they did say is they want to make
2:50
Tomorrowland a place where people want
2:52
to go, where it inspires people to think
2:54
about the future, and it is a generally
2:57
positive place for people to come and
3:00
really live out the vision that Walt
3:03
Disney had for Tomorrowland. And I love
3:05
that approach. I don't know what it's
3:07
going to look like yet. I don't know a
3:08
timeline yet. They haven't announced
3:09
that. I think it's pretty early on in
3:11
things. But what I do know is that
3:13
there's great care being taken to get
3:16
this right. And I've spoken to the
3:19
people that are working on this. I've
3:20
looked them in the eyes and I've spoken
3:22
to the executives behind this too. And
3:24
all of them have a deep uh
3:27
responsibility is probably a good word
3:29
to really nail this and to really do
3:31
something that fans for generations
3:34
current and future will love and enjoy
3:37
and get to appreciate. Finally, the
3:40
number one story I think of the night
3:42
was the the long shot for many
3:44
predictions, but perhaps one that had as
3:47
big of wishes, if not better, as far as
3:51
we could imagine. Yes, we were hoping,
3:54
but we really didn't imagine it could
3:56
come true, but Figment and Dreamfinder
3:59
will be getting a significant upgrade as
4:02
Dreamfinder returns to the Imagination
4:05
Pavilion and they go on a new adventure
4:07
together.
4:09
What that looks like, we don't know.
4:11
When that will be, we don't know. What
4:13
we do know is that is something that's
4:15
coming into the future. And we will get
4:17
to imagine what that will be like as
4:19
Imagineers are doing the same and
4:22
creating a new adventure for both
4:24
Figment and Dreamfinder. And I can't
4:27
wait. Those have been our top five
4:29
stories of day two of D23, the ultimate
4:32
Disney fan event. Let me know what you
4:33
think the top story of the day was. or
4:36
if you have other top fives, let me know
4:38
in the comments as well. Hope you have
4:40
enjoyed our coverage of D23, the
4:42
ultimate Disney fan event. We will have
4:43
the entire Disney Experiences Horizons,
4:47
a carousel of progress up on our YouTube
4:49
channel very YouTube channel very soon.
4:52
So, make sure to check that out along
4:54
with all of our other coverage that will
4:56
be going up in the coming hours, days,
4:58
and maybe even weeks. We will see how it
5:00
goes. But that's what I've got for you
5:02
tonight. So, make it a great one, keep
5:04
kind, and we'll see you at D23.
