Welcome to Geeks Corner. I'm Mr. Daps. I'm Katie. and we're so excited that you're here for the last Tuesday after
0:31
4th of July. That's the first. I don't know that that made sense. I don't know. I was flipping it around. I was trying to do like the last first
0:38
something, but it's not the last Tuesday before July 17th.
0:43
It's not. No, it's it's just the last It's the most recent Tuesday after the 4th of July.
0:49
Yeah, that's that's what it is. Yeah. I don't know. Anyway, welcome to Geeks Corner. We're excited you're here. What
0:55
should people do, Katie? Uh, you should go to uh
1:00
You should subscribe. You should go to our Patreon where we did a very fun thing tonight called Five Photos that
1:07
came from the scanner of Mr. Daps. They're old photos. I will give you that clue, but it's in the pre-show called
1:14
Behind the Scenes. If you haven't done it yet, share. We want you to share this show. And then most importantly, comment
1:22
because then you can get points apparently. Yeah, go into the chat.
1:28
Sorry, I am really not used to my new my new intro spiel. I just read the notes. Um,
1:36
we need to get a way to like show the notes again, but we haven't figured that out. Anyway, uh, with that,
1:42
it is time to talk about Thanks, Daddy. Thank you, Mr. Dad. Thanks, man. Daddy. Thank you, Mr.
1:48
Thanks, man. As is no surprise,
1:54
Sam Eagle was the Muppet of the Week last week, and they put him as Sam Eagle.
1:59
Mhm. We had a big discussion after Geeks last week and and we did some research cuz it's not consistent.
2:06
It's sometimes Sam the Eagle, it's sometimes Sam Eagle.
2:12
Yeah. Um, so anyway, now is a time where we decide who next week's Muppet of the
2:18
Week might be. I see Uncle Deadly in there. I see Statler and Waldorf in
2:23
there. Um, I am going to say Gloria Stefan.
2:29
Oh, I just I keep reading. Is Gloria Stefon gonna get a week? No, she's not. But
2:37
Gloria Stefon the Penguin from Upetss ABC. You know who I think it should be this week, right? Always be famous. Who
2:45
who do I often say? And now you've actually seen the movie where I Bobo the Bear. Yes,
2:50
we've watched um Muppets from Space. You can watch it on YouTube for free with ads right now. It's very fun.
2:57
Pretty crazy ads. Um Muppets from Space is great. Uh I
3:02
also almost said Furfu. Um Oh, there we go. I like that.
3:11
We got Fufu coming in. We got Bobo. If it's any of these, we all win. I feel like if if we just happen to get one
3:18
Muppet, right? It's It's like a win for the show. Was like week one.
3:24
Scooter was pretty early. You can keep guessing. That's uh not Chicago's. That's
3:29
Illinois's favorite Muppet apparently. Oh, but you know what? That same one of those Facebook things.
3:35
Yeah, that same graphic. Do you want to know what it says? California's hair is.
3:40
Who's my worst muppet? Who's my op? My muppet op.
3:46
Waldo c graphic. I was like, is it Waldo? That's what it says. California's
3:51
favorite muppet is. We got to vote for Kermit. Okay. With the green. Uh, still holding out Miss Piggy will be
3:58
the last week. Um, still doesn't know what Scooter looked like. So everybody can go uh tweet pictures of Scooter to
4:06
um to Y or post I guess because it's not tweeting it. It's still tweeting. It's always
4:12
uh anyway we will we will all tweet pictures to you tonight of Scooter Y and
4:18
it'll be a blast. Should we get into the show? I guess we it's a full show tonight. So we're going to do our best with this
4:23
which means we're going to talk about nonsense for the longest. It'll be a quick show. Uh Reverends
4:28
America are gone. They they were there one day and the next day it was just green. Everything's gone. This isn't the
4:35
Magic Kingdom, by the way, at Walt Disney World for those of you that um are used to us talking about Disneyland.
4:41
What? Whoa. Have you seen the door? Yeah. Um the door is really Yeah. The the door down to the uh
4:49
nothing. It's the door to nothing now. Um, but it's interesting because whenever you have one of these milestone
4:55
experiences happening, you have all of these feelings and opinions and um
5:03
uh conversations, I guess. Yeah. And in concept
5:09
when it was all playing out, I was like, "Yeah, I kind it kind of makes sense, I guess." Like, this is a more popular
5:16
franchise. It's Well, it is a franchise. I mean, Disney doesn't really have a
5:21
Mark Twain movie right now. Um, but uh don't think they would. Tom Sawyer Island uh or Tom Sawyer
5:27
Island movie. Um a bunch of kids go camping. Um I don't know. Anyway,
5:33
follow me, boys. In concept, I was like, "Okay, I could kind of see why they're doing this." Whatever. It expands the park. It adds
5:40
more capacity. Whatever. However, as it was actually happening, I also definitely felt the other side of like,
5:47
"Oh, I don't like this at all." Because I think Rivers America is one of those
5:53
things that used to just I almost want to say you just take for granted, but
5:59
it's also a decompression zone. Like when you're racing through Tomorrowland, you're racing through through Fantasy
6:06
Land, wherever, Main Street, like Magic Kingdom does get a little bit overwhelming and hot and crowded and
6:13
whatever. And there's something very um peaceful and and gives you a chance
6:20
to recover when you go down to the Rivers America and you can just relax. What?
6:26
I would not say that uh Tom Sawyer Sawyer Island is
6:32
uh not hot. But I'm not saying there. I'm saying the rivers. Like I'm I'm thinking okay like Liberty Liberty Bell. I'm thinking in
6:40
particular that that wood walkway around the edge of the river where I saw an alligator once and um
6:47
but I do think it kind of led me on this deeper thought process of there is a
6:54
risk when you get rid of spaces like this of because everything is utilized
7:01
there is pressure everywhere and the one thing you haven't accounted for in this
7:07
case is yes you have your fast rides. Yes, you have your little spinny rides, your little fun rides for the kids, but
7:14
there is something to be said for just space that's Disney that is Yes. Rest in
7:21
peace, Bountiful Valley Farm. Um, that's so true. But don't you think there's something to
7:27
be said for the the spaces that just let you be and let you kind of relax and
7:33
just experience Disney? Yeah. And and I think that's kind of what
7:39
people are feeling but maybe never verbalizing in the same way or not
7:44
verbalizing the same way. And thankfully you can still do that, you know, walking around the waters at like Disney Springs
7:50
to Saratoga or whatever. Um but I don't know. What do you think about
7:55
all this? I think keep moving forward. Um, I think if,
8:01
and this is my extremely unpopular opinion, and I am a-ok okay with that. Um, I think it's okay that it's going
8:08
away. Um, I think that there is still going to be water features. Uh, no, I
8:15
don't think they attempted that with Avengers Campus. I actually was thinking about that while Daps was talking. I
8:20
don't think DCA has a single spot that is like a, oh, you can relax. and
8:26
maybe I was going to say maybe Grizzly Peak. Yeah, I think Grizzly Peak that that back walkway is very much that
8:32
that when it's open. I think those kind of things just give you a moment to like
8:38
just slow down and just enjoy and hear people having fun and you can hear the music in the distance but it's not in
8:45
your fa like it it is a there's a lot coming at you at a Disney theme park and I think there is a risk
8:51
of just cramming too much in under the silly symphony swings other than silly symphony right above you but
8:58
that's my only issue with it but anyway keep going. Sorry. Um, I I think it's okay, honestly. I I really
9:05
do. Um, I think it is going to be missed. I hope that Liberty Bell goes
9:11
somewhere. Um, like even if you can't go on it, I would love just to be able to see it somewhere. Um,
9:16
take it to the Grand For a second. I was like, California. No. Anyway,
9:23
um I Yeah. Well, and my addendum to what I'm
9:29
saying is the new area looks like it could do that. The only reason I'm slightly
9:34
concerned is I don't know how well they'll be able to
9:41
control the sound for race the rally racer. Like if the rally racer sounds like most rally racers, and this is
9:47
probably actually where this is all coming from now that I'm digging deeper. Have you ever heard of a rally racer?
9:53
No. Okay. So, in uh when I first moved to California, the town I lived in, there
9:58
was a rally race course just outside of town. When there was a race happening,
10:04
everybody heard it. It's loud. It's it's I'm assuming it won't be as loud as a true rally race, but I'm also expecting
10:11
it to be kind of like maybe Radiator Springs or something where it's it's
10:16
it'll be there. So, we'll see. I What I'm thinking is that you're going to be sitting you're going to be trying to relax. You're going to have a bench,
10:22
right? even if you're by the water, but you will just hear [Music]
10:31
no matter how far away you are from it. There you go. Maybe that'll be it. Yeah. You know, and then just
10:36
kachow. There you go. All right. Lightning McQueen if he was Darth Vader.
10:43
Kachow. Another new addition that's coming to the parks is the third verse of It's a
10:49
Small World After All. It will be at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. We learned it this week. I think it's
10:55
great. What do you think? I'm super excited about it. Uh I've said this, I think on the show multiple
11:00
multiple times, but when we did um the
11:06
Yeah, the D23 Sherman tribute. Like cried my eyes out at the revelation of the third verse. Um
11:13
but what do you think specifically about Walt Disney World getting it also? Like I think it's great. I wish they had to
11:18
wait one day. I agree because I do kind of wish July 17th was a Disneyland day.
11:23
July 17th means nothing to Magic Kingdom. Wait till October 1st, then come back and talk to
11:29
I actually like that idea, too. Yeah, that's a great idea. It would have made more sense. All right. Um that's it.
11:34
Okay, that is it. We also learned the acts. Well, most of the acts. I think
11:39
there's a couple open, maybe one open spot for the Eat to the Beat concerts this year at Epcot International Food
11:45
and Wine Festival. The only reason I bring this up is because there's some new groups this week this year and I
11:50
think it's a good list. Um here it is. This is the list of the entire
11:55
lineup is now there. There are there is a TBD uh space that I left out, but um
12:01
for new groups or artists, we've got Katie Tunl, uh Ben Recctor. I'm amazed I
12:06
can read this from this far. Um the Wanted 2.0 and uh Jordan Sparks, Bowling for Soup,
12:13
and The Beach Boys. This is how I found out that uh Mike Love got the Beach Boys in the divorce cuz I 100% did not think
12:21
it was Mike. Of all of these, what are you most excited for? Um I think because I'm a millennial, um
12:26
bowling for soup. I kind of think so. I think that's going to be so fun.
12:32
I think it will. And I'm also just curious, do you begin or end
12:38
with Phineas and Ferb? You end with Phineas and Ferb for sure. Okay. Okay. Um, but like you get some
12:45
1985 in there. Oh my god, Jesse and Joy, they are on there.
12:51
I actually think like looking through this list, every year it gets better. I think so, too.
12:56
Um, like there was multiple in here that I'm like, "Oh, yeah, that would be fun. Smashmouth would be fun. Big Bad Voodoo
13:01
Daddy would be fun. Boys to Men, we would at least recognize." Uh, like I've got friends that would love going to see
13:08
David Archeletta. Uh, you don't want to see Hansen. People would love that too. The Frey
13:13
would be like um I actually think Joey Fetone and Friends would probably be hilarious.
13:20
Like I am very curious who are his friends. Like if we lived in Florida, I would
13:26
want to go to lots of these just because I want to also see who do they attract
13:31
cuz I feel like I mean go from um let's say Big Bad Voodoo Daddy to Mercy Me
13:39
very different. Also, Huba Stank like come on
13:45
and Starship like Yeah. Like they are literally hitting things for everybody.
13:50
Yeah. And it's kind of amazing. Like I don't know. I I think it's um whoever is booking this year,
13:57
I'm impressed. Yeah. Uh fun fun Katy Bear 13 lore drop.
14:03
Uh Joey Patone judge from one of my show choir competitions.
14:08
Isn't he also the one that's on um that got on uh Impractical Jokers?
14:15
Oh, he like he's like buddies with the Impractical Jokers. I don't know. Um that's I also another connection to you
14:21
to the Joey Futon was one of my show choir competition judges but not the show choir year where we had Katie
14:27
Tonstall in the set. We had Black Horse in a Cherry Tree. There you go. Yeah. Which might be the only song I know by
14:34
her. That's the only thing I know. I literally was like, I kind of want to be excited about her, but
14:39
but I only know the one song and like and that used to be played at Starbucks a ton.
14:46
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air. I don't know. But it's it's a solid lineup. It It'll be fun. Let us know if
14:51
you're going to see any of them. And um um post of common knowledge, too. There
14:56
we go. Oh my gosh. Yeah. All right. We also learned today what the poster for Walt Disney A magical
15:04
life will look like. And if I'd have been on the ball, you would see it right now. But we actually don't have high
15:10
quality photos yet, so it would look blurry, so we're not going to show it. But um I think they did a really nice
15:15
job because it's kind of it's one of the most iconic pictures of Walt and then um
15:21
um I think it's the one on the Bob Thomas book if I recall. And and then it's kind of got that classic look. It's
15:28
very interesting to me because you've got a new um Lincoln poster and then
15:34
this one and they're definitely pulling from two different centuries but they work.
15:41
Those are two different centuries. Yeah, I guess like I I think they did a great job. Um no, I think it's wonderful. I also
15:47
just really nerd out when we get new attraction posters because like this isn't something that happens super
15:53
often. I mean, it happens more lately with like Star Tours getting a new one
16:00
andah, but I think it's super fun. I really like it. I think they capture the
16:06
essence really well. Um, and I think it conveys the nostalgia that they're going to try and like
16:13
put across in the attraction. Yeah, it'll it'll be very fun. And after July 17th, we'll definitely be talking
16:20
about that. So, uh, go and see it. I just want to say the weekend of the 17th
16:26
cuz I'm still I just want this on the record. I still don't know how I feel about the Walt Disney animatronic. I
16:31
don't know yet. I don't think we are going to know until we've seen it face to face. I was going to say I don't even think
16:37
I'm going to know in video how I feel about like it'll be interesting because up until Lincoln the movie
16:45
Oh yeah. In my head, when you thought of the the like, who is Abraham Lincoln? In
16:52
many ways, it was the animatronic mixed with the books I'd read about Abraham
16:57
Lincoln. Um, but like, you know, it's that that's Abraham
17:04
Lincoln. And and when you think about it, especially for the younger people
17:09
that don't have the access to all of the old, you know, remember the the young people,
17:15
I'm thinking remember all the tin DVD sets that used to have a ton of old Walt Disney clips and and whatever. And um
17:24
you don't see as much of Walt Disney like just
17:31
in regular programming I guess now where it used to be, you know, Disney Channel every night. They'd had the what Walt Disney and you'd often see Walt doing
17:38
something or you could see the old uh Disneyland shows or World of Disney.
17:43
like a lot of those things just aren't as um available I feel like as easily
17:49
for like you can find some of them on YouTube but you really have to go uh
17:54
like they're just not there as you're flipping channels I guess is what I'm getting at agree and so it'll be interesting to see if
18:00
this becomes yeah late night Zoro classic um in fact I watched through all
18:06
of Zoro on Disney Plus when it was added because of that um put put a pin in that comment I'm coming
18:11
back to that during comments comments Okay. Um, but, uh, yeah, it's going to be
18:17
interesting to see if this becomes the Walt Disney that that fans, especially
18:23
younger ones or newer fans, know and love because this is the first time they really get to interact and see him in in
18:31
what's now a new way. I'm just a little I'm a little scared. That's it. That's fair.
18:36
Um, well, I think it's interesting is like I think even like they had a media event a
18:43
couple months ago that um members of the media were invited up to see different elements of the show and that was not
18:49
part of it. Yeah. So, like it will be, you know, next week that's when everybody's going to really
18:54
see what this is like and and um I'm I don't know what to think. I'm fascinated
19:00
and I'm intrigued. I do wish we were getting Abe Lincoln a little bit quicker in the rotation just because I'm equally
19:07
intrigued and interested in that. I was hoping that two brothers actually featured Abraham Lincoln and Walt
19:12
Disney. The new two brothers. Yeah. You thought it was Walt and Roy. No, now
19:18
it's Walt and Abe. Now it's Walt and Abe. And the song is still the same. Um, and they're they they duel.
19:26
Oh, okay. Cuz a cannonball don't pay no mind. Oh, I thought they were gonna have dueling haircuts. Um, no, no haircuts.
19:35
Uh, if you've experienced that, let us know in the chat. The ASMR version and what you thought of it. Um,
19:41
anyway, we will be covering that and we'll let you know what we think about it and all of that fun stuff. Uh, we also got more details. There's
19:48
been a lot of news that came out this week. Like, there's other stuff we could do, but I'm just more excited about the thing that's coming. So, we learned
19:55
about the holiday season at Walt Disney World this year, which there is a lot going on and um Two Brothers Rewritten
20:03
for the Sherman Brothers. I like that. Um that wouldn't be super hard, I don't
20:09
feel like. But uh anyway, we learned a lot about what's coming for uh Walt Disney World's uh holiday season. It's a
20:15
lot of stuff that we've seen before that we like. Um you they're bringing back the two
20:20
parties, one in Hollywood Studios, one at Magic Kingdom. the decorations. They're doing the um the show where Olaf
20:28
and and company make the castle come to life at night, which I think that would be cute to see to be honest. Uh they are
20:35
continuing Disney Starlight through the holiday season, except for on Nights when Mickey Very Merry Christmas Party's
20:41
happening. Also cool. Hopefully we'll get to see that at some point. And then
20:46
uh Epcot's doing Festival of Holidays, which is one of my favorite like Epcot
20:51
Festival of Holidays. They always do. I know. But it just always feels It's very funny for a park or for a
20:59
resort that loves to start things like super early. Like, oh, we're starting Halloween
21:05
in like the first week of August. They're like, "Oh, festival holidays." Nah,
21:11
it is interesting. Like they they started after Thanksgiving and and and that is how I feel about Christmas.
21:17
But before you come for me, that's also how I feel about Halloween. Um anyway,
21:22
we have Festival Holidays coming back. They've got a bunch of entertainment coming. Uh one of my favorite parts is
21:28
the storytellers around World Showcase. Like I just think that is one of the I
21:33
would like to go and see each of those multiple times. Yeah. Like that would be very fun. I think Barn is my favorite. But yeah,
21:40
Barn Santa's great. Barn Santa. I also like the what's her name in Italy. Oh, it's funny because on the what is
21:49
that? the southeast side of the park. I don't know. Um I don't know directionally uh Walt
21:54
Disney World parks, but it is funny how like that corner of the air like that quarter
22:00
I guess or two or third of Epcot the um the holiday trick uh stories are a
22:07
little bit more tricksterish like hm like France.
22:13
I guess France is too. Yeah. Well, he's like if you don't leave things in your shoes. Yeah. So that's the whole half then.
22:19
Yeah, we've moved on. Um, but no, I would like more time to be able to experience
22:24
Festival of Holidays at Epcot because I just think they do a great job. And like we really never get to like the times
22:30
we've been there. Um, like getting to see Joyful in the front, which is now at the stage, which I think is probably a
22:36
much better place for it. If it's where I think it is, I don't know. But like a lot of the music stuff we don't get to
22:42
see. Um, I've never actually seen Candlelight there. Like I've watched parts of it from the back. Um, but other
22:50
people have gotten our videos that we have up from from Florida and uh that would be kind of fun to do. I feel like
22:55
I would like to sit down. Um, I love Hollywood Studios during the holidays. Like I like Jollywood a lot.
23:01
It's really pretty. Jollywood's fun. I would love to do that again. And then
23:06
Animal Kingdom Mary Managerie. I was building to that.
23:12
I think that is the greatest holiday offering at any domestic Disney park is the Merry Managerie.
23:18
Mhm. It is so uh uh spontaneous. It is so genuine. It
23:24
is so fun. It's puppetry. Like and I think anytime we get puppetry that's
23:29
awesome. Um especially when it's well done. Like it is very well done. And there's pictures of me just screaming at the puppets in the very
23:36
managerie because there's video too. There's al probably a video, but like it's just so special and I love it and you could buy merchandise.
23:43
We have a we have an ornament somewhere. Mhm. I don't know where. Anyway,
23:50
Mary Managerie of all of the holiday offerings at Walt Disney World
23:55
besides Mary Managerie now because you already kind of answered the question. What do you most like what would you
24:01
most like to experience? Have we confirmed Muppets at Jollywood Nights? I'm gonna assume they're still there. Then I'm going to say Muppets of
24:06
Jollywood Nights. Okay. In the in the big stage show. Yeah. I'm forgetting the name of it, but
24:12
I feel like that is one that when you look back on it, it's going to
24:18
be one of those slow burns that through the years it's like, oh yeah, it had a rough start that first year, but it's
24:23
going to continually get better and better and better. And even the first year, I didn't think like we didn't go
24:28
the first night. So, we still had fun. I thought it was already significantly better than um than what other people
24:36
said. The only thing that I was like was that it was um Jingle Bell Jingle Bam
24:42
for fireworks. I was like I could I could go to something else. Um and we've never been to Merry Mickey's
24:47
Very Merry Christmas Party cuz that would be fun to see the Speedway with like that would be pretty cool.
24:54
Um don't they do something with Space Mountain, too? Am I imagining this? I feel like they do something with Space
25:00
Mountain. Opposite of Ghost Galaxy. Merry Mountain. I just think I just did
25:06
something. Unless it already exists. Walt Disney Imagineering, I have something I'd like to tell you.
25:12
It's very important. Put me on the phone with Walt Disney. I'll hold. But I do think techno Christmas music.
25:19
I'm right. Um, perfect. So, yeah, I think that would be cool. I
25:24
do think the parties there at this point might be a slightly better
25:30
value than the parties here. Do we even have Christmas parties anymore? No, all parties. I'm just saying
25:37
generalized statement because you've got their Halloween party and um remember that time we got a Christmas
25:43
party? Um I'm okay that we didn't keep those. Like I loved it. I missed the Muppets Caroline Coach.
25:49
That's it. They should make that a regular thing. I would be okay with that. But um No, I I also agree there's better value
25:56
because also you get cookies. I was going to say you get cookies, you get treats, you get
26:01
sweets, you get like there's And we haven't been to the Halloween party cuz I heard the lines are pretty ridiculous for that. So maybe not as
26:08
much that one versus OogieOogie. I was going to say I heard I hear that OogieOogie is the the goat on that one.
26:14
But um I mean OogieOogie is hard to beat even even though they haven't changed a
26:20
whole lot this year. Um but you know what? It's a lot of fun. Like I love OogieOogie Bash. I'm sorry. Yeah,
26:27
I I just think it's fun. And I think the uh the real challenge for Disney with
26:32
with OogieOogie in particular is supply and demand is the demand for the thing is just so so um high that you know
26:41
there's that's a challenge like that's when people will pay just about anything. Um there's only so much you
26:47
can do without alienating people also. But uh holidays are going to be a lot of
26:53
fun. We don't have details yet for Disneyland Resorts holidays, but uh I'm sure they will be coming in the
27:00
notsodistant future. And um Oh, and there's all the gingerbread houses. That would be fun to see, too.
27:05
Oh, yeah. At the at the hotels. Like that would be something that's on my list of like Oh, yeah. I like to go see those, too. Um
27:13
because really my main times, both times being in Florida for holidays were quick
27:19
trips. Like one was the suicide trip that was like 48 hours and then the other was like three days and um
27:26
and we changed hotel rooms once a day. Yeah, that was probably wouldn't do that again. Um
27:32
yeah, that was silly. But yeah, I think I think that would be uh
27:37
that would be a fun thing to do again at some point. And um maybe do a very
27:42
Mickey's very merry Christmas party instead of Jollywood just to like to mix it up. But um and we didn't get to the
27:50
food. Yeah. But that's totally fine. Um what we could get to though
27:55
is if you have anything that you would like us to respond to or talk about or
28:02
whatever, it is time for
28:10
comments. Comments. That's right. It's time for comments.
28:17
And as Katie said earlier, we're sticking a pin in one of them, which apparently we need to bring back. I'm going to see if I can find it. I think I
28:23
found it. Late night Zoro was my jam. That was the comment that you would like to respond to first.
28:29
Wonderful. So, Dabs has no idea what I'm going to say.
28:34
Not a clue. Let me just get on my high horse for a second. Okay.
28:40
Cannot be knocked off of this. Zoro is what? intellectual property.
28:47
Zoro was where? Frontier Land. No, I agree with this. So, so was Frontier Land not based on
28:55
IP, Mr. Daps? It was crazy.
29:01
Adventure Land, The Jungle Cruise, that was based off Walt Disney's True
29:07
Life Adventures. Correct. We're getting this. The castle
29:13
is what? Intellectual property to uh
29:18
advertise for sleeping beauty. Where is this coming from? The parks.
29:24
Let me have this. The parks themselves were to introduce more people to Disney
29:33
films that more people would see them. And yes, it was a thing for people to do
29:38
and families to do to experience together, but it was solidifying the Disney brand in families.
29:45
This is coming from the fact that people said uh Rivers America and Tom Island were not IP. They absolutely were IP.
29:53
I mean, they they may not have been always timing exactly right, but Walt Disney recognized what was popular,
30:00
would would resonate with fans, and that was the basis. But yes, anyway, I think that there is a very I
30:07
just Mhm. you can also like you could like leave
30:13
the frame while I say this that people throw arts at my face and not yours. You don't have to be associated with this.
30:19
I just think that there is this very interesting mindset right now with fans where they're like, you know, Walt
30:25
Disney didn't build things with IP and the parks used to be better without IP.
30:32
Babe, the parks were all IP and the the things that weren't IP. Walt
30:37
Disney made IP by making a show about it. Where do we pick up the darts? Uh, just
30:43
I I figured they were dropped off next to by a parachute. Um, anyway, just get just the ones that stick to the
30:49
TV and then you can shoot them at her. Um, no. That gives me Tyler flashbacks when I would get hit.
30:55
Anyway, I just wanted to go on a little IP rant. Um because I I think that there is this current mentality of like oh the
31:01
good old days the good old days of Disney parks and I'm like you know what I think that for some people we are in
31:08
the good old days. Um and they are available on Patreon. You actually get more darts if you're a uh Patreon
31:15
subscriber. So um so if they do add Jared Leto to the
31:21
Haunted Mansion, I will have complaints. Uh, mainly because I feel like Jared Leto has blackmailed.
31:27
Isn't he already in the mansion? No. Okay. Are you just trying to say that the
31:33
hatbox ghost? No, that's not Jared Leto as the hatbox ghost. That's the hatbox ghost. It's the
31:38
hatbox ghost. Okay. Silly goose. Silly goose.
31:45
Just just asking. Um, anyh who, I do I do think there is a uh an
31:52
argument to be made that it's always dangerous to speak for Walt.
31:57
Yep. And I think that's what I would say for everybody on both sides of it is because I think nothing was an outright
32:07
sellout. But I also think Walt was very businesssavvy and was like, "Hey,
32:15
I can have my cake and eat it too." And and so um like I I would be very
32:20
reticent to be like, "Oh, Walt would do this or Walt wouldn't do that or Walt would like this or Walt wouldn't like
32:26
that. because it kind of seemed like Walt like true creatives
32:32
changed his mind a lot. Chang his mind very frequently. Um so yeah, I don't know. I I think it's it's
32:38
an interesting conversation to watch and uh I also think that on any given moment
32:44
everybody is right and everybody's wrong. Um because it probably depended on what meeting you were in with Walt on
32:50
what he said and what he felt and and that's just I think how how things play out. Uh, moving right along. Fozzy, are
32:58
we excited about the new Star Wars Coke bottles? I think they're fine. Um,
33:05
they kind of feel like the Share a Coke promotion, but like with Star Wars characters, so I'm like, do I get to
33:11
pick? Is it random? It's probably random. I mean, we have the best. Yeah, we already have the Buddy Pals
33:18
Coke one, so uh we're we're set. Um, no, I think it's cool. Like, it's kind of a
33:23
fun thing. I don't want to have a bunch of um empty Coke bottles sitting around. I
33:30
don't know what to do with them to be honest. Like my favorite thing was the day that they were announced. Um my boss's boss was
33:37
around and you showed them to him and he went, "Huh, well, it's good for somebody, I
33:44
guess." It was like my favorite. Um Caleb is excited for Walt Disney
33:50
Magical Life on Disneyland's 70th anniversary. It is going to be fantastic. I'm curious how much of a wait they have to do a virtual queue. I
33:57
don't know. Like I could see. I don't know. We will see. I'm not making any predictions.
34:02
They're like, "We don't have a queue in the opera house. What do we do?" Well, my hunch is they would do the uh
34:09
wristband thing again and they'll have different colors for different times of the day because I think they have um the days or the times posted on one of the
34:16
signs. But um but like I am very curious
34:22
what the demand is for that. Like I think on the 17th there's probably an
34:28
inflated demand over other days, but it'll be interesting to see what it is on a normal day. Um will this make the opera house a like a busy place to go
34:37
including with the thing outside? I don't know. But um uh my shortand currently is Magical
34:42
Life. I've been calling it Walt Matronic.
34:48
Is that better? That's better. Yeah. Okay. It's the Walt animatronic show. I don't
34:53
know. Um Huh. I said that's a little silly. Sorry. It just it you're just so full of
34:58
whimsy. I just love that about you. When do we get a tiki room movie? Great question. I don't know, but I feel like after Lilo
35:05
and Stitch, it's coming. Scarlett Johansson. Yeah. No. Abandon the the the Tower of
35:11
Terror. No. You still can't figure out a story. Got a great one for you. Yeah, I'll hold for Colin Jo.
35:18
Yeah, I think I think the queue for Walt Metronic could be uh near Disney Gallery and Main Street Station. Like there's
35:25
spaces you could you could use it, but um and then Mickey's just going to be like, "Okay."
35:30
Um it'll also be interesting because to see how many people go in, see a
35:38
magical life, and then they hop out and get back in line. Like like I don't know if that's like are
35:44
people going to want to do that too? I don't know. Maybe. Um my thing and I this is my
35:50
first time considering it. What do you think the post show music is going to be? I don't know. Because to me
35:57
And does it switch when when like will it be America for for Lincoln and will it be like When You Wish Upon a Star for
36:04
uh I need to hear America. Spread your golden wings. I didn't know he was a
36:11
real guy. At least one person's probably going to say I feel like if there is somebody standing at the entrance, you're going
36:17
to hear somebody say that. Yeah. Um I think when you wish Wish Upon a Star might be the one probably.
36:22
Yeah. Um or um Wonderfold of Color. Yes. But that's not as much of a like
36:29
send you like Yeah. It might show. Yeah. I don't know. Um,
36:37
a great big beautiful tomorrow. And then that would tie in with the Sherman Brothers thing too, which
36:42
they've also got the um the show in Cinema House or in the main street cinema coming on the 17th too that
36:48
really we haven't uh talked about. But uh yeah, you kind of need that eagle to
36:53
pull you to the door. It's true. Unless Blue Fairy or a Star or something, I don't know. But like um
37:00
America, it's actually Roy going, "Hey guys, we have a business to run." So if you all could
37:07
That's funny. There there's a surprise Roy Disney animatronic. He's in the hall. Um
37:13
he's he actually is the person. He opens the door and he's like, "Hey, Walt, got to wrap it up." He's the person that's swinging
37:20
with the counter. That's that's totally what it is. All right, Kitty, we are running out of time. What should people do? You should
37:27
go to dapsmagic.com. You should check out all the Disney and geek news as it happens. You should subscribe to our
37:32
mailing list so you don't miss any of it. And you should also go to patreon.com/dapsmagic where you can see Mr. Dap's five photos
37:41
uh from the scanner, which I was even surprised by and I thought they were super fun. So, you should go and you
37:47
should comment on it. That's that's just my opinion. Just hers. Also, make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel if you haven't
37:52
already because we've got a lot of exciting things going on, including the uh third verse for It's a Small World in
37:58
about a week and a half or whatever that is. But thank you for watching. We are out of time. We hope you have a great
38:04
week. There's the dog. Yeah. Anyway, that's about all the time we have for you this week. We'll see you around the
