Welcome to Geeks Corner. I'm Mr. Daps. I'm Katie. And did you know that I didn't have my note up? There we go. Did you know that
0:24
the signpost at the corner of Mickey Avenue and Dopey Drive at the Walt Disney Studios lot was named or was made
0:31
for the Reluctant Dragon and then was never removed. I actually did not know that. There you
0:37
go. I thought it was just like a feature that um they like put on the lot when
0:44
they were building it cuz I was like, "Oh, close." I mean, it was within a year or two. I think a year of being made. Have
0:50
you The Reluctant Dragon came out what? 41. I think it was the first liveaction movie to be filmed movie if you can call
0:57
it that 40 minutes. Um, have you seen it? Yeah. Why is a couple times?
1:02
Why is there like Why is that relevant to the film? Oh, it's a tour of the studio lot. Like
1:09
the whole thing is just like they're going around the Walt Disney Studios and introducing the world
1:14
to this new lot that Disney has purchased and built. Okay. But what makes that really funny?
1:20
And then there's animated shorts. I think four of them thrown in the middle. They're like, "We're here to give you a tour. Here's this thing we installed
1:27
only for this." Very Walt Disney of him. It's It's a story. Like the whole thing. It's It's cute. Like um
1:35
It's worth watching at least once. Like it's it's cute. It's I don't know that it's the best thing ever, but it's fun.
1:41
I haven't seen it. I will have to. There we go. I think it's I'm 99% sure it's on Disney Plus. I think I think I
1:47
watched it during the pandemic maybe or something. I don't know. We'll find out. Yes. But good evening. Welcome to the
1:54
last Geekmiss episode before the big Geekmiss episode. The official Geekmiss episode, the oneh hourong Geekmiss
2:01
episode, which might have some sort of a return of Geek Miss Dragon. We will see.
2:08
You know, you never know. Actually, we've never had a Geek Miss Dragon. There was the Christmas Dragon, so maybe it'll be the introduction of the Geek
2:14
Miss Dragon. I don't know. Maybe we'll get a geek dragon. That would be pretty cool. Um I don't know, like 14 feet tall, something like
2:21
that. Or would it be like in Gallivant where it's my dragon pal and me like
2:26
that days of old? That would be a good puppet. That was a legend told a dragon puppet that is that is not a
2:34
dragon. Like that's like a cuddly cute geekmiss dragon um thing. Anyway, what
2:39
should people do, Katie, before we go any further? What should people do? People should reach out to their local streaming
2:44
service and demand season 3 of Gallivant. That's what they should do. There we go. Uh, also that
2:50
I'm just saying if season two of Pushing Daisies is or season 3 of Pushing Daisies is coming out, we can get another season of Gallivant. Also, you
2:57
should go into the chat right here where you are here at uh at DavsMagic. Hi. Uh, you should go to youtube.com/savmagic.
3:04
You should subscribe. be part of a community of over a 100,000 people since
3:10
we feel like we're not superstitious enough that we can say that now. Yep, we're good.
3:16
So, be part of that. Um, and then also go to patreon.comdapsmagic.
3:22
Um, we do a lot of fun things there, including a post show for this show. Heyo. Um,
3:28
we're going to show something pretty cool tonight, I think. So, I think it's very cool. um and go into
3:34
the comments for comments comments which we will return to at the end of the show. It's a segment dedicated
3:39
specifically to your comments. So if you would like to see us respond to something or have us respond to
3:45
something, have a random question or just a comment, we will hit those at the end of the show. But before we do that,
3:54
we have to do something that's very important during the GeekMiss season here at Daps Magic. And that is
4:02
we need to see what the duck is going to be this week.
4:16
That is right. It is time for the GeekM duck of the week. As you can see, we've had one, two. So, we had uh spam
4:24
spam. I think I saw whip died or whip died. Whip. Whip won. Whip won last week.
4:32
And we are so sorry to report that Whip died. And then for this week, we have a very
4:39
unique duck that's also a cat.
4:44
This duck dares to ask the question, what if it was also a cat? Yes, it's it's a very interesting thing.
4:51
That will indeed be a murder. Most throw your ideas for a name in the comments. They will be thrown on Patreon
4:57
where they'll be voted on very democratically and then uh we will find out what this duck's name is. What we
5:05
did last week? I don't think that DAP's magic is a democracy
5:10
on some things. We let it happen. There we go. It didn't knock over the tree.
5:17
That is the concern these days. You know, this tree is not the um
5:23
sturdiest thing in the world. So, yes. Anyway, there is our GeekMiss duck of
5:29
the week. It is a cat. There will be a close-up picture of it up on Patreon along with the
5:35
Yes. At sent from Disneyland is saying that we should name it Miss Piggy. Oh, there we go. Speaking of Miss Piggy,
5:42
now let's talk about some Muppets. Thanks, Daddy. Thank you, Mr. Dad.
5:47
Thanks, man. Thank you, Mr. Dad. Thanks, man. It's hard to believe it, but for
5:53
almost 70 weeks, we have been guessing mostly incorrectly about which Muppet
6:00
will be honored for the Muppet's 70th anniversary. This
6:06
week, I think I would be shocked if it's not unanimous. It has to be Miss Piggy.
6:11
It's the last week. It has to be Miss Piggy. Um, this last week we we forgot to recognize the
6:18
mutations and it has to be Miss Piggy because I'm out of space on my graphic. It has to be Miss Piggy.
6:24
Um, I will say Mhm. I think that we should do an inmemoriam
6:30
segment um when all of this is over of the Muppets that did not the Muppets that we think were deserving that did
6:37
not get. Do you have anybody on the top of your mind or uh Gloria Stefan?
6:43
Uh, I love Meoward. Sorry. Um, yes, that's good.
6:49
Mhm. Um, oh, I forgot about Pine Quackle. Um,
6:56
I lips I don't think got I thought he did. Maybe not. Maybe not.
7:02
I don't know. I'm so Yep, he's right there. Third column or fourth column on the right.
7:08
So confused. You just a few weeks ago. Oh, okay. Well, anyway, I think that we
7:14
should do an inmemoriam segment for uh Muppets that we believe should have
7:19
gotten uh noticed or recognized. I do think at some point we're going to
7:26
need to do a segment that is guessing what segments are going to be in the Muppet
7:33
Show special. Oo, good. Like, are they going to have ballroom dance? Are they going to have like
7:38
who knows? Like there's it's I think at some point that maybe that's even a full show is like what will be on the Muppet
7:45
Show. Whatever. Obviously, in my humble opinion, they're
7:50
going to have to do We Don't Have a Phone. Maybe.
7:56
In my humble opinion, that's not really a Muppet Show. It is.
8:03
We don't have a phone. Isn't that from Muppet Vision? It's from Muppet Show. Oh, is it Muppet Show, too? And then
8:08
they do a Muppet Vision. They do a reference to it in Muppet Vision. Okay. Okay. We've literally watched so much of the
8:14
Muppet Show together and I always go, "Oh, Muppet Vision joke." Yeah, it started at the Muppet Show. I I forgot.
8:20
Wow. Who's wearing a Muppet shirt here? Well done. Who's wearing I am not wearing a Muppet tie either.
8:25
I'm wearing a a Minnie Mouse Christmas tie. Do you even know who the Muppets are? Mhm.
8:31
This guy. This guy over here. He likes the Muppets. There we go. Who I'm betting are not going to make. Well, wouldn't that be
8:37
funny? Oh, that would be terrible. The moots for number seven. It has to be Miss Piggy. And they're
8:42
going to put out a video that's like, "Oh, finally." And you know, it's all about mwah.
8:48
Yeah. Yeah. I think that's that's totally what's going to happen. Muppet 70. All right. We'll see how many people
8:53
vote for Miss Piggy and see if there's a revolt next week if it doesn't happen. All right. Dick Van Djk. He just
8:59
celebrated his 100th birthday. This picture is from his 90th, however, which he celebrated at Disneyland. He did not
9:06
celebrate his hundth at Disneyland. Although there was a meet up, I understand. But uh as we look back at this
9:14
1925, that's crazy pants. He has a career in Hollywood that's
9:21
longer than a lot of people live. My question for you is one, do you have
9:28
memories of of Dick Van Djk? Like have you ever seen him in person? Okay. No. Well, then I'll I'll answer that one.
9:34
Oh, I was I was going to let us uh or two, do you have a favorite movie or
9:40
performance of Dick Van Djk? Like either would be fine. Um I'm going to answer first since you don't have a moment. Um
9:46
I've I've actually come across Dick Van Djk a few times through either D23
9:52
events or in the parks or whatever. Uh, my favorite was the 2005 candlelight,
9:58
which some of you have probably heard this story before, but I was given a seat right underneath the um the podium.
10:06
Yes, the announcers podium. And I think what happened is Dick Van Dyke read too far. And I wish we'd filmed this, but we
10:13
weren't filming them yet because I don't I guess YouTube had just started.
10:19
And I actually got the um the like how long our channel's been around and we
10:25
started in 2006, our channel um which is very interesting. Well, this
10:31
channel because we had another one that started in 2005 to play with, but that went nowhere.
10:37
Yeah, it's kind of weird. It was the original Depp's channel. Um,
10:43
anyway, Dick Van Djk read too far. Stage manager or somebody comes up with the
10:48
script. He gets down off of the podium and they're standing kind of behind it like halfway back to where the next
10:55
staircase goes and they're going through and she fixes it like this is what we're going to do. And as she's walking away,
11:00
he goes like this and sticks out his tongue. I saw it and laughed. I'm the only person that saw it because
11:06
everybody else is watching the music or something. I don't even remember what song it was. Everyone else is listening to the story
11:11
of the birth of our Lord and Savior. And Mr. Daps is giggling. Yes. At Dick Van Djk making fun of of
11:18
the stage manager or whatever she was. So he hears me laugh and he turns to me and then points at me and he starts
11:24
laughing at me. I laugh at him. We have a little moment. He goes on with the show. And it was one of the few moments
11:29
where I could be like, "Oh, wow. That was awesome." And and I don't if if you've seen me around media events or
11:36
whatever, I don't really get worked up about uh about celebrities.
11:42
It's it's, you know, they're kind of just they're other people that we happen to work with. And um and that was the
11:48
one moment where I was like, "Oh, that's a Disney moment." Like that was magic moment. But uh if you have if you've
11:54
come across or have a favorite memory of Dick Van Djk, maybe at D23 or something, let us know in the comments. Can I say
12:01
our favorite movie now? Yes, you can say your favorite movie now. I'm going to go for an oddball here. Oh,
12:07
okay. Saving Mr. Banks. Oh, there you go. Um, his like the buildup to his
12:16
appearance. Do you mean um uh No, not Saving Mins.
12:21
Mary Poppins Returns. I was like, yes, sorry, not Saving Mr. Banks. Mary Poppins Returns. Funny enough, I was
12:27
picturing Mary Poppins Returns because I was picturing um what's her face from
12:32
Newsroom and I was picturing all of that. Anyway, Mary Poppins return,
12:38
keep going. Let's Let's all It's been a long day. Okay, guys. Uh
12:44
I'm never going to recover from this one. Anyway, yeah, I actually agree with you. I think it's
12:49
one of the best moments of that movie. It's And I hadn't thought of that when we were thinking of moments. Well,
12:54
because there's like the obviouses of like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, um, Mary
13:00
Poppins, um, like there are some really Lieutenant Robinson Robin Robinson
13:06
Caruso USN. There you go. There's some like there are some absolute bangers from the Dick
13:12
Van Djke lineup, but I think that Mary Columbo,
13:17
you know, he was a photographer in that one. Um, do you see I listen um but
13:24
um Goober Night at the Museum. That was a good one, too. Oh, man.
13:29
Excellent choice. Yeah, he's good. Yeah, but I I love this buildup in Mary Poppins Returns. The
13:38
incredible moment where he just gets up on the desk um and he does what Dick Van Djk does.
13:44
That would have been terrifying. Oh, yeah. I like part of me would love to have been there cuz that would have
13:50
been so magical but on the flip side I'm like if anything happened you were the worst person on the planet.
13:56
Dick Van Dyke show. Absolutely. That is absolutely correct. Um yeah he has well
14:02
and you think of how many things that he's done that inspired other things through the years as well whether it's
14:07
Dig Van Dyke Show or Mary Poppins or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the uh the not
14:13
Disney movie that everybody thinks it is. And uh okay, that and um
14:18
it's Anastasia that everyone thinks. Yeah, but Anastasia is owned by Disney now. So now, so technically you can get away with
14:25
that now. But um yeah, fantastic, fantastic moment with Dick Van Djk. Um
14:32
I also just think this is Okay. Um see, it's a moment in a movie, so you
14:37
kind of did answer the question. Sure. I think everyone should get their tinfoil hats on with me. Um, you know
14:45
how you you used to hear about people living to like 120, 130, whatever? People are like, "Oh, it's cuz lifespans
14:50
have gotten shorter." Incorrect. It's actually because we did not have birth records organized in the way that we do
14:56
in modern times. Um, so we have not been able to actually confirm that those
15:02
people that lived till 120, 130, whatever, actually did that. So, it's really cool to me in this day and age
15:08
when we can confirm someone's birth date that they're making it to 100. And also,
15:14
in my humble opinion, Dick Van Djke doesn't look a day over 75. He looks a lot better than a lot of
15:20
people at 75. Yeah. Uh my grandpa made it to he's either 99 or 100. It was a year longer than we thought it was
15:26
because when we got his birth certificate after he died, uh it turned
15:31
out to be a year earlier. So, did your grandpa know that or was he just He thought he was born in 1911 and it
15:37
turned out it was 1910. So, he didn't know how old he was. No, he thought he was born in 1911, but it was 1910.
15:43
Whoa. Oh, that's wild. There's your little DAP lore for the night. I did not know that.
15:49
Yeah, that's that's an interesting story. All right. Over the weekend, we went to the Walt Disney Studios lot for
15:57
uh Jolly Holiday at the lot, which was hosted by D20 Holidays.
16:02
And uh there was music, there was Michael Vargo, who is the head of D23
16:08
actually, who invited us. Thank you, Michael. Uh there was more music. In fact, there was also jazz. There was
16:14
snow, which was gorgeous. And you could walk in the animation
16:20
building, which was super cool. you go down the hallway on the first floor, so you could be in the the building where
16:27
it happened, not the room where it happened, but you know, all of all of that fun stuff. So, uh there was also
16:33
like popcorn and chips and and water. Like they had hot hot cocoa, I think.
16:39
A ton of cotton cider. Like they had lots of of things to do. Games,
16:44
a massive slide. Um I'm trying to think what else. Oh, uh you could decorate cookies. You could
16:51
get your face painted. You could um get a bunch of booths around. You could
16:56
watch characters different holiday shows in the theater, which honestly, if you've never done
17:01
that, it's kind of worth it. I would pick a shorter one so you don't spend the uh spend the um
17:07
Don't worry, there were indeed four showings of Prep and Landing, The Snowball Protocol, but there was also the the Jonas
17:13
Brothers Christmas movie. It was two, Prep and Landing, The Snowball Protocol, one Jonas Brothers movie, and then two,
17:20
I would have done Prep and Landing cuz it's shorter. Like, if you've never watched a movie in there, you need to. Like, I've seen a few movies in there
17:25
through the years, but uh I think the most one of the most magical experiences of like my life was watching
17:31
a Disney movie for the first time in that theater. Yeah, I watched Wish for the first time there. And I was like, this is the craziest
17:39
place on planet Earth to be like watching a Disney movie for the first time. Yeah, that one was pretty cool.
17:44
And then one time I got to do an event in the executive uh screening room,
17:49
which is where Bob Iger screens rooms. In fact, I think it was we watched um uh
17:54
Oh, it was Mary Barry Poppins Returns. Oh, yeah. Cuz that's when you had Angela Lansbury. That's when Angela Lansbury came out. We
18:00
got to interview her. It was great. Um, but yeah, there's there's some fun parts
18:05
where you get to see kind of where people do stuff on a regular base and and your your imagination comes to life
18:11
as you see it. It's one of those things and I think that you have had a similar experience.
18:16
Um, I have worked in really really cool places. Um, and I don't want to ever say
18:22
that I get jaded or that I have like forgotten the magic of things, but it's sometimes really fun when like people
18:28
come in like, "Whoa, this is like," you're like, "Oh, this is like my Tuesday." And, um, I definitely had a
18:35
few of those moments. Uh, I had never walked through the animation building before. Um, I've been on the lot
18:41
probably four or five times, but I'd never been in the animation building. And I was like, "Oh my gosh, like this is real."
18:47
The old animation building, not the new one. Correct. Yes. Um, but still like just so cool
18:55
and they light it up like there's there's Christmas lights around and decorations and you've got Santa and you've got characters and all that fun
19:01
stuff. And um, so there's there's no shortage of things to do. And it's it's
19:07
just a there's something magical about being where Walt Disney was
19:13
during the holidays. It's like double magic. And and the only other place you can really do that as a Disney fan is
19:19
Disneyland. And so you've got Disneyland and then if you're D23 member, a gold member, I think, I don't remember
19:25
exactly, then you can also go to the studios at Christmas, which is is
19:30
just double magical. Like it's fun to think of, oh, this is where Walt maybe came up with some of these ideas that we
19:36
we know and love today. When I walk around the lot, in my head is playing
19:41
that black and white footage of um one the military footage of when they're
19:47
like getting sent off. Um from Walt imaginary life or Walt Disney
19:53
Imaginary Life. Go ahead. A magical life. The magical life. Yes. An imaginary life. Yes. Um
19:58
sure, why not? But practically, no, I think there's you've seen it captured in so many
20:05
different ways that there's something about it when you get to see it like firsthand and you're like, "Oh, the nine
20:11
old men were here. Walt Disney was here. Like this is where Disneyland was going to be originally if Walt had his way."
20:17
Like, so what was your favorite thing of the night that they offered? Um,
20:25
that's difficult. Um, I personally would say that I'm stalling for time and
20:32
I can't think of MelOll D23 is the correct answer. That's that's the cast choir. They were really cute. Um, they also had uh I think it's
20:40
called Blow the Brass Band, which we had a picture of. They were great as well. The snow moment was fantastic.
20:45
Um, I have to say Santa Claus. Santa was very cute because I saw Santa Claus and Santa
20:52
Goofy. Um, oh, I'm so sorry. Santa Claus, get
21:00
out. Okay, sorry. My favorite thing was Muppets Christmas Carol. Oh, yeah. They did have they had an
21:06
exhibit in the archives that you could see of Muppet Christmas Carol stuff, which I will have an article up on soon. Miss Piggy's costume
21:13
with the padlock prop with the house.
21:19
Mhm. The Cratchet home. I literally was just standing there like
21:26
I didn't want to even touch the glass because I was like a that would that would be a violation of the muppet and there were a bunch of kids doing it
21:31
anyway. So you don't want to get germs but all right well we also got a early
21:36
look well an imperson look at the premium items that are coming for D23 next year which includes an incredible
21:42
Roosevelt shirt a pin set. Uh this is actually two things I think or did they
21:47
come together the Loungefly and the together? Oh, and the Oswald earards. And then also a sorcerer Mickey uh
21:56
statueette, I guess you could call it. And you can either get one with the choice plan and gold gold choice and get
22:03
one of those or they have the complete thing where you can get all four, which there you go. If you want them, you can
22:09
get them. I like that Kermit's featured. Yeah, that was cool. That was that made me want the He's giving him the old razledazzle.
22:16
He's on the shirt, too. All right. Well, because the 50th anniversary of uh the Muppet Show, so
22:23
next year hopefully will also be a big year for Muppets. All right, we learned this week of an interesting agreement
22:29
the Walt Disney Companies made, and that is with Open AI, and they are licensing
22:34
out their characters for a billion dollars. Well, they're paying a billion
22:40
dollars, and then their characters will show up and it's basically an agreement. My question is, we're not going to argue
22:46
the merits of this. My question is, what do you think the reasoning is behind
22:53
throwing your characters into uh Sora for Open AI? And
23:01
and what do you think? Like obviously there's going to be restrict restrictions. There's not going to be
23:08
voices. There's not going to be likenesses. It's literally just the characters. So what do you think comes
23:14
of all of this? Well, I already saw today uh Rapunzel
23:21
doing Tik Tok dances. Oh, okay. So, I
23:28
personally I think what the intent is um I think the intent is to say, okay,
23:35
you know, people want to do fun content creation. This is a fun way to bring Disney characters
23:42
to life in a new and exciting way. Mhm. Um, I don't think that's going to
23:49
be the end result. Uh, I
23:54
see. I actually don't think that's what it's about. Really? What do you think it's about? I think this is all about a new way to
24:00
generate revenue. What I haven't figured out is it this another way to get people to sign up for Disney Plus
24:07
because they did say that some user generated content is going to end up there. So, maybe it's this.
24:12
Is it a way to sell a new type of merchandise? Because at the end of the day,
24:18
everything is going to come back to the shareholder and or are they getting a a
24:25
I can't imagine them getting a cut of Open AI subscriptions because I just
24:32
don't think that's what it is. But I do think there is a a bigger picture thought
24:38
process behind us. And it's not just about, oh, we're going to connect with our characters one more way. I think
24:43
it's, oh, we're going to let you connect with our characters and then you're going to spend money A, B, C, or D. And
24:51
uh maybe it's even like I don't know like a D23 membership or something like
24:56
I think it comes down to how can they connect the the people with the
25:02
characters and and really not to be I mean they're they're a for-profit
25:07
business. They need to make money. It's another revenue stream. What? And um I thought they thrived off my
25:12
but that's the part I haven't figured out is what the revenue stream is that they're getting out of this because I think that's what it is. I also think
25:19
the other part of me is saying um they recognize that people are feeding Disney into AI content anyway. So they may as
25:27
well control the messaging and control the market in a way that is their own.
25:33
Yeah, I mean that's that's possible. Um the interesting thing I see Mikey's comment about them getting a cut of the
25:39
profits also is OpenAI has yet to turn a profit if I'm if I remember correctly
25:45
and um I think they have a goal to raise a certain amount by like 2030 or something and with the hope of turning
25:52
it profitability. So it'll be interesting to see if like it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. At
25:58
some point I feel like it's going to turn a profit. At some point, I think we're going to see what this looks like
26:05
as as it becomes whatever it's going to become. But it is very early and it'll be interesting to see what what happens
26:11
with it. And I have not a clue. What I do have a clue though about is something
26:17
I'm very excited about and that is disclosure day.
26:23
Stephen Spielberg is back. And I think that's what this is all about is Stephen
26:28
Spielberg is like and who's back with him? John Williams. Um, we got the first
26:34
trailer for Disclosure Day today. And I will admit
26:41
this, watching it reminded me of the first time I saw like Close Encounters of the Third Kind because it just has
26:48
that like eerie you don't know what's going to happen. Everything's a little bit like
26:56
offbalance. Um, you know, like what? I don't I don't
27:01
even know like but it looks to me like it is vintage or or old school Stephen
27:08
Spielberg. What do you think? Uh, and I really hope it's good. The trailer started.
27:14
I got five seconds in and I said, "My butt will be in a seat." And I don't go
27:20
to movie theaters, guys. This is a big deal. The fact that I'm like, I want to sit and have the daylight scared out of
27:27
me. I want to not sleep for three days. And like, Mr. Daps is aware. James Bond
27:33
movies are too intense for me. I will have nightmares and I will wake up at 2 in the morning scared. Okay.
27:40
But there is something to me about Steven Spielberg when he does things
27:46
like Close Encounters of the Third Kind, even parts of ET where it gets kind of scary. He blends
27:53
something scary or otherworldly or whatever and brings it to
28:00
your real life. Like it feels closer than you are comfortable with. Like I fully expect us to halfway be
28:08
scared of like deer and cardinals by the end of this movie cuz and we might be.
28:14
Who knows? like it it just looks like they're taking things that look so innocuous and suddenly like, oh, there's
28:20
something behind that. Uh yeah, Jaws does that as well. And um it's this thing that it it feels far
28:27
off. It feels um oh that wouldn't happen, but Steven
28:32
Spielberg brings it to life in a way that is so like close to home and so plausible.
28:38
And I hope he continues with his kind of subtleness. Yeah. Like I don't want it
28:44
to be obvious. I don't want it to be in your face. I want him to really make our
28:50
imaginations go crazy. And if he does that, this will be a home run. In Close Encounters, you see the aliens
28:56
for like couple minutes, if that. Um, and so I think Steven
29:03
Spielberg is very very good at building suspense. Um, it is the story is by him, but it is
29:12
directed by someone else. Is that he came up with the story?
29:17
David Kemp wrote the screenplay. Got it. He's also directing it.
29:24
Stephen Steelberg is Oh, okay. Got it. I was like, wait, who's he? Yes. Usage of pronouns. We're super strange,
29:30
sir. Um, Tiana is snoring, by the way. Um,
29:35
I'm super excited about it. I also love a summer scary whatever feels like
29:42
telling spooky stories by the campfire. Yeah, I'm I am super super super excited
29:49
about this. And as somebody who loves the horror genre, um I love the horror
29:55
genre because typically it's not plausible and so I go, eh, that can't happen. James Bond scares me because it
30:00
could happen. Um, this is a way that I get to watch horror uh with my boyfriend
30:07
who does not watch horror because uh yeah, it's great. Great fun.
30:14
There you go. I think it's going to be great. I hope it's great. Um I'm looking forward to seeing more trailers and hopefully it does they don't give away
30:19
too much and hopefully the movie doesn't give away too much either and keeps you like the best thing it can do is let
30:24
your imagination go crazy and uh not tell you too much. All right. Now, it is
30:30
time for
30:35
comments. Comments. That is right. It is time for comments.
30:41
We will return to the comments. I think there was a few of them earlier on in the show that
30:46
I was like, go. Uh, will the Geek Miss Dragon pull Santa sleigh? Um, I'm not going to answer that
30:52
yet, but I will say that there is a segment in the GeekMiss episode next
30:58
week that might give a little bit more of a story to the Geek Miss Dragon.
31:04
I love when I don't even know what's going on. Um, production meetings, you know,
31:09
the penguins don't invite me. They stopped giving me invitations a long time ago. That's it. Season 4 of Hannibal is what Bailey said because I
31:15
was asking for season 3 of Gallivant and I said if Pushing Daisies is getting another season, which apparently it is,
31:22
which is a thing that people have been asking for for a very, very long time. I've never watched Pushing Daisies.
31:27
Heard it's great. Um, what other shows should we get Ferber back? Like, anything's possible.
31:34
But what's another show that should come back? You tell me. I don't know. Or that episode of Scrubs he was in. Oh,
31:41
Dick Van was in an episode of Scrubs. He played I feel like he played a he was a
31:46
doctor or hospital administrator and he was way more friendly than the old grumpy guy. Oh well yeah
31:51
yeah it was very funny. I have been saying that we should watch um Scrubs. There you go. Uh we are doing that is
32:00
correct. I see from scent from Disneyland looking forward to a special photo nicks recording this Saturday. We
32:05
will have a very special Christmas Eve episode if all goes well coming up for
32:11
photo nicks. maybe even a day early, who knows? Um, but we will have our first guests on Photo Nick this week, which
32:18
will be a lot of fun. And, uh, when it goes up, you will not want to miss it. Uh, Ducttales did make the return. That
32:24
was great. Um, what are your thoughts about the new Disney D23 2026 gold
32:31
member gifts? I think they're great. And I think what I'd pick the Roosevelt shirt I think is one of their most brilliant ideas. Mhm.
32:37
Like I think that's going to be I don't know if they can run out, but I could imagine them running out because I just
32:44
think that's going to be ridiculously popular and it will be fun game at D23
32:49
the ultimate Disney fan event to count how many of those shirts you see throughout the weekend.
32:54
Well, the other piece that was very interesting at Jolly Holiday on the lot is that they had vendors and so they did
33:00
have Roosevelt's there. That line was nuts. Yeah. Crazy pants. The only time the line died
33:07
down is when most things were sold out. Mhm. Yeah. Like crazy pants. Absolute crazy
33:13
pants. Yeah. But the first probably 3 hours of it was just insane. Like
33:19
like probably one of other than like the studio store line, it was probably
33:25
the longest I would say the longest line after that. Um
33:30
yeah, there you go. Get get your dad the shirt. He'll love it. Um, I think they did a great job with it and uh, it'll be
33:37
fun to see. All right. Well, I think we're running out of time. Katie, what should people do? Well, you should go to
33:43
patreon.comdapsmagic so you can go get ready for DAPS after dark, baby. You should also go to uh,
33:50
dabsmagic.com. Check out all the Disney and positive stuff as it happens. Um,
33:56
and we we've we've got some stuff to talk about over on Daps After Dark. So, we'll see you there. It's all about
34:01
that. That is true. Also, make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel. You won't want to miss any of the exciting
34:07
things we have going up. In fact, I filmed something just today that was kind of a fun surprise. But, uh, we've
34:12
got more going up from D23, uh, Jolly Holiday on the lot and some other stuff
34:19
in the next couple of weeks. And we're actually frontloading stuff right now because we won't be able to get into the
34:24
parks after Sunday, something like that. But that happens. Anyway, that is all
34:30
the time we have for you this week. So, we will see you around the corner. Bye.
