Welcome to Geeks Corner. I'm Mr. Daps. I'm Katie. And did you know that from 2005 to 2009, turkeys, pardoned by the
0:26
president of the United States for Thanksgiving, were sent to Disneyland or Walt Disney World. I missed that.
0:32
It was fun. I really liked when you could go and see them at Big Thunder. Well, right.
0:38
I know there were turkeys back there. Was it the presidential turkey? Yeah, Big Thunder Ranch. Yeah, right on the walkway. uh which is
0:44
now like where the uh it's kind of that weird overhang thing is now.
0:49
The Big Thunder Trail is uh and you could go see the pardon
0:54
turkey and the backup pardoned turkey. I think sometimes both were pardoned.
1:00
Well, like I would assume if it's a backup pardoned turkey like it's No, some years two turkeys two turkeys
1:07
are pardoned and sometimes only one is. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. And sometimes they're well quite
1:14
often they're both saved but only one is pardoned which is what happened this year.
1:19
Uh yeah, what should people do? Katie, you should go into the chat and you
1:25
should tell us. Uh have we already announced the name of this year's pardoned turkey? Uh gobbler, I believe.
1:32
Oh dang, that's not fun. I was going to say you should guess or come up with a name. What do you think the next pardon
1:37
turkeyy's name should be? Uh you should also go to uh subscribe wherever you are. Uh if you aren't already, go to
1:44
patreon.com/nafsmagic. That is a fun little place where you can hang out with us after this show and it
1:49
is probably going to be a doozy tonight. So it'll be fun. And then uh yeah, I
1:55
already said the chat. Gobbler is a weird name. You know what I would name a turkey? H
2:01
maybe this is morbid. Stuffing. There you go. Yeah, that's that's a name. Stuffing the
2:07
Thanksgiving turkey. Yeah, there you go. Sure. See, why not?
2:12
It rolls off the turkey. It does something. That's for sure. All right. Well, now is the time that we
2:19
really look forward to more than turkey. And that is the time to talk about Muppets. Thanks, Daddy. Thank you, Mr. Dad.
2:26
Thanks, man. Thank you, Mr. Dad. Thanks, man. That is right. We get to talk about
2:32
Muppets every week for 70 weeks. It's almost over, which is kind of sad. It's kind of crazy.
2:37
It's It's a little bit crazy. It's hard to believe that we've gotten to that point. But this week,
2:43
we had a very appropriate muppet, and that was Beverly Plume, which I was thinking in my head last week that she
2:51
would be the one for this week, but then like my timing was a little bit off. I think I said, by the way, I want the
2:56
records to show at some point in the 70 weeks. I'm pretty sure I said Beverly Plume. I know she came up at some point like
3:03
because I was like trying to go through characters and I thought that was scraping the bottom of the barrel.
3:09
No, that's I think that's definitely a possibility. And um she was the actual
3:16
Muppet this week. So the big question is who's coming next? So, I really wish
3:23
that Bobo hadn't already been the Muppet of the Week cuz I think after his appearance at the Sabrina Carpenter
3:29
concert, I think Bobo would have been an excellent choice. It kind of makes sense. Uh, what number? I was excited that they used him. I was
3:35
like, that's pretty epic. Oh, first of all, I was more excited about Bobo than than
3:40
uh Miss Piggy. This isn't like we're not talking about this on the show tonight. I just will bring up things that I want to no matter what. Uh, love love that Miss Piggy and
3:50
uh, Bobo were at their short and sweet tour for the final night. People also were like, "So, no one took pictures of
3:57
the people puppeting?" And I went, "First of all, Miss Piggy and Bobo the bear are they're not puppets. They're
4:06
like, they're muppets. They're Miss Piggy and Bobo the Bear." Like, what do you mean?
4:13
Mhm. Um, anyway, uh, I really wish I could say Bobo. Uh, what number is Beverly Plume? That's my question.
4:19
We We don't know. We lost. It's like se 67 or something. Is it 67?
4:24
Maybe 66. Could be any of these. I don't know. 67. Is that what the kids are doing these days? I don't know.
4:29
Uh, I am going to say cuz you would think the last like three
4:36
would be big stars, but like we're we're doing Beverly Plume, you know, which is perfect for Thanksgiving
4:42
though. 66. Okay, so I was close. So we still have 67 8 9 and 7.
4:47
We have four left. Um I am going to say Mhm.
4:54
I'm waiting for you to say like Waldo or something cuz I don't think he's been said.
4:59
He has not. I'm going to go with newsman.
5:05
Okay. I'm going with Gloria Stefon. Okay. Those I think both count
5:10
like Like there there chances like there's a possibility for either of them.
5:15
Yeah. I mean the Mupits could also be or would be one of the Muppets maybe. We do love the Muppets. I don't know. It'll be interesting to
5:21
see. Um yeah, it's going to be it's going to be it's going to be hard. I feel like the
5:27
next two or three because like what if it was Miss Piggy early
5:34
cuz she I don't know. Like I don't know. After eating all of the Thanksgiving food, she's like I don't know. She's
5:40
what? She's Miss Piggy.
5:47
I think if Miss Piggy was here on the show, then it would be a good running gag. I
5:52
think so, too. Miss Piggy, you are always welcome. As are you, Kermit. You You could take my seat. Actually, I
5:58
don't I don't even need to be here. You could be the star. You know, she'd want my seat. Well, yeah. It would be uh The Miss
6:06
Piggy Show featuring Geeks Corner. Mhm. Something like that. I'm sure that would go over well.
6:12
Yeah. I don't know. We'll see. You're always invited. It'll be interesting. Bobo could come, too. Bobble could be security.
6:17
I would like that. That'd be very bouncer. All right. Christmas Fantasy Parade celebrated its 30th anniversary kind of
6:25
on Sunday. It was the It was the 30th anniversary officially on Sunday. And we
6:30
were there performance. Mhm. We were there and we uh filmed the parade. It's up on our YouTube channel.
6:36
And uh and we were talking with with Jeff and Denise from Mouseps and obviously Doug from our from DAP's Magic
6:43
and it's interesting how much the parade is similar but different through the years. Like even as you see this first
6:50
float, that's generally what it was 30 years ago. You know, I think it had a little bit different but it's pretty
6:56
close. And um there's there's elements of the parade that have
7:02
basically not changed a ton. the mail room has stayed and there's other things that are
7:08
completely gone or different. And um my question for you, one, what is your
7:13
favorite part of the parade? Uh Santa. Oh, okay.
7:18
Like Santa and hearing Santa talk to everybody in different languages and
7:25
these signs and like to me that's Christmas. Uh yes, actually
7:30
the my first conscious memory of ACF is when Duffy was on the float. Uh but
7:35
yeah, like I think something about Santa singing We Wish You a Merry Christmas,
7:40
saying hi to people, doing it in sign. Yeah, that's that is so so so magical to
7:46
me. And as I've said multiple times, I love the the toy soldiers playing the
7:51
trumpets and the drums cuz I just think they bring so much life and energy to the parade. And but like all of the
7:58
elves and and everything in between are are a lot of fun, too. And I would be remiss if I
8:04
didn't, especially tonight, um, give a hat tip to our friend Olaf, who for the
8:09
last however many years has done the parade like this. It's true.
8:14
And I think it's I think it's one of the funniest parts of the parade because there's been so many advancements
8:19
everywhere else, like even what we're going to talk about later. And and Olaf is still completely
8:25
stationary. And I'm like, I just feel like even put a puppet there or something, you know? I think that
8:31
Olaf was just really tired from Paint the Night. Oh, so so he's frozen. The
8:37
I Yeah, you know, I can't top that. That door, that door was wide open. And did you say that love is an open door?
8:45
I don't think it's going to unfreeze him, though. Um, only one act of true love can thaw
8:50
frozen. There you There you go. And that act of true love is So now we know what the next two Frozen
8:56
movies are about are Olaf's love story. So the first two were really about Anna
9:02
and Kristoff, their love story. It was sisterhood, the first movie.
9:07
Well, that was also painting the seeds or planting the seeds of love with with
9:13
Anna and Kristoff family love the first one and then it was romantic love the second one. So we meet Olaf's family in the next one
9:19
and then the fourth one is his his snow person thing.
9:26
I don't know. I don't know either. That just popped into my head. That would be very it'd be very funny. Can
9:31
you imagine after all that like everybody thinks it's going to be this huge epic thing that continued the stories of the sisters and then it ends
9:37
up being all about Olaf. I don't think that would happen because I happen to remember a certain 22minute short that people did not react very
9:43
well to. I wonder how it's reacted or I wonder how it's um
9:49
I enjoy that today. I enjoy it a lot. Well, and I feel like those things you give it a little time, they become
9:54
favorites. And I'd be curious if that's what's happened in the last however many years. I'm actually surprised that wasn't in your rotation of Frozen one and Frozen
10:01
two. It was Oh, Olaf. Yeah. It just It's short, so I kind of forgot about it.
10:06
That's fair. Um I also think because it has that funny song in it. Like it's it's got a good song in it.
10:11
I just think that they did do a disservice. It was a great short, but putting a 22minute short before a film
10:17
kind of a lot. Yeah. You know, Pixar shorts are like 5 to 10. I feel like if they'd gone straight to
10:23
something like Disney Plus, it probably would have been fine. Exactly. That's why I'm saying putting it as a short Yeah. before. I'm like,
10:29
that's a TV episode, right? I do miss when they would put true shorts in front of films, but that's another show.
10:36
The Mickey shorts or the Goofy shorts. Like I like the little short animated things in front of Disney animated films
10:43
or Pixar animated films. Still does sometimes like not every time now I feel like. And
10:48
every Pixar film is a short. No. Wait, what? I think it stopped during the pandemic
10:54
and it's been on and off, but they also now have that thing where they do all of the because there was like the directs to
11:00
release like souls. Well, there's the ones that are the upand cominging directors that they do now, too. Well, they were always up and
11:05
coming directors, but now it's they've got a program for it that's all about shorts. That's crazy. Anyway,
11:12
it's changed a little bit, but it's still good. Like, it's fun. Anyway, um
11:18
I could imagine them changing things in the future for ACF, which is what we were talking about initially,
11:24
but my question is, do you think they would ever change the theme song for Christmas Fantasy? No, I would hope not.
11:30
They change the theme song. I think it's a different person. Or would they re-record it? Cuz I could see them upgrading or
11:35
re-recording, you know, they just re-recorded Small World so they could add another verse. Um I I wouldn't be opposed to that.
11:42
What if they add another verse? I wouldn't be opposed to that if it was good. Okay, there you go. I wouldn't be
11:49
opposed to them adding more recent characters into it in a because like I
11:54
think the most recent is probably Frozen. Yeah. But I think you could probably add other
12:00
characters into it and um that could be kind of interesting too. I'm trying to go through in my head. I
12:06
think it's I don't know who I would add off the top of my head, but
12:12
I mean there's the easy hits, there's the Moana, there's the Mirabells, but you also want to make that they kind
12:17
of go with a snow motif. So you would have to have Moana in snow clothes, which doesn't quite work. It could be fun.
12:23
Okay. Okay. Like I think that there there could be something to be said and this this parade has changed so many times and
12:29
it's had so many different whatever. Mhm. What if we had a tropical float of
12:35
They're the people that have ended up in Christmas land. So, it's like the Moana.
12:40
It's uh actually I'm thinking of speaking of Pixar shorts,
12:47
Nick Snacks, the uh the snow globe. That's kind of what I'm thinking of is like when he
12:53
goes to like hot climates, whatever. But like imagine these warm temperature
13:00
Sure. stories, but they're Christmy now. Okay, I think that could be fun.
13:06
I need a better pitch. Sorry that I came up I'm going into old producer mode where
13:12
I'm like I'm intrigued, but I need a better Sorry that I came up with this while I'm sitting in front of you. I don't have
13:17
It's a good start. It's a good start. Uh we'll see before the end of Geekmiss if you come up with a fullon pitch the
13:23
pitch the parade. Maybe it'll even be a segment. Pitch the parade. Pitch the parade. Yeah, there we go. All right. Uh,
13:32
Christmas Fantasy had its 30th anniversary. Yes. 30 years old. Happy birthday. Yes. Also this last weekend, a um the
13:39
Knots Mary Farm Yeah. festivities begin at Knottberry Farm, which I think is actually one of the
13:45
best Christmas ccentric celebrations in Southern California. I
13:50
agree. Like to me, if you want classic Christmas, you go to Knots Merry Farm. It's got carolers. It's got um the uh
14:00
the Billy's play. There's the Wranglers. It's got a tree lighting. It's got Snoopy. Like there's Snoopy's Night
14:07
Before Christmas, which is adorable. And um this year we
14:13
had a loose bird that um got out early and took over the stage and took over
14:18
the whole show. And the show kept going, but nobody cared because they were all watching the bird. It was hilarious.
14:24
It's on our YouTube video. You can watch it and you can see how they finally deal with it. I was going to say I think that happened
14:30
the year I was there without you, but that's not what happened. The bird did not feel like going back to its handler.
14:36
Oh, so it was staying. So it was like I'm free. I want to fly around. Well, that's what it started but didn't
14:42
know where to go. So then it ended up um on the stage just watching skaters. It was very funny. Um, and like at one
14:48
point two girls that were skating like tried to like brush it off and it
14:54
literally just looked up at them like they were crazy. It was very funny. Uh, I love that. I also love um that it
15:03
does like it follows um a very Charlie Brown Christmas ish. Yeah.
15:08
Well, it does the like God bless us and it has Lion is telling the Christmas
15:13
story. Yeah. which is I think one of the cutest Peanuts things in the It's very cute and people love it. And
15:19
um and then speaking of Christmas story, they have a Calico Christmas Carol over in the Bird Cage Theater which is
15:25
fantastic. Um they've upgraded or upgraded they've updated that and they've also updated the Gift of the
15:32
Magi 1885. And they weren't like full-on changes, but they were subtle changes that I
15:39
actually found myself completely engrossed in the shows. And if you've seen them year after year after year,
15:45
you can get into this kind of like, oh, I've seen this year after year after year and you kind of get that relaxed,
15:50
not completely paying attention mode struggle. And well, that wasn't in it this year, but um I think that's another show
15:56
actually. It was I was just doing it. But um but I found myself completely engrossed in both shows because there
16:02
was enough different that you didn't know was going to happen and it was performed in a way that kept
16:07
you on your toes. You're like, "Oh, this is funny." There was lots of humorous moments and little subtle things that
16:14
just added to the show. And uh hat tip to whoever did that and directed that because I really was impressed along
16:20
with all the actors cuz they were fantastic as well. My personal favorite and I hope it's still happening this year. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
16:26
Okay. The snow moment that plays somewhere in my memory that you want to talk about. I so
16:36
one of my most special memories at knots period is uh funny enough that same
16:42
event it was like two years ago I think you were in Japan um getting to take my mom to that and
16:48
watch the snow with my mom and I have this picture of us in the snow uh snow uh but like
16:55
there's something about like white Christmas lights when there's snow
17:00
falling and somewhere in my memory is playing like that is that is beautiful.
17:06
Like I really think that that is like magic. And when I say that there's snow,
17:11
you guys cannot fathom how much snow there is. They they make it really come down. You
17:16
can see our video. Um like it'll be on Dap's hat like this thick. Unless I'm under a I like to go
17:22
underneath the um the awnings because then I don't get it all over. But uh no,
17:28
it is very magical. They use a ton of snow. It is everywhere. Kids are playing with it. It's It's They really do a good
17:34
job. And um and the new tree is bigger than better than ever before. It does go
17:40
taller. I don't know off the top of my head how tall it is, but you walk up to it and you're like, "Oh, this is
17:45
bigger." And it's now Victorian themed instead of kind of um old west craftsmany, whatever it was before. Um
17:53
I'm forgetting exactly what it was about the arts and crafts of California. It kind of felt like that though, wasn't it? crafts on it or something like like
18:00
wood wood shapes or whatever. And um and the stage around it is much bigger
18:07
this year too. So then when they do the lighting, all of the people from Home for the Holidays, which they're also
18:12
performing and is fantastic, um come out and they do their little song and dance moment and then they pull out a a
18:18
glowing uh ornament to start it all in. It's It's cute and um like it's really
18:24
pretty and the whole thing just lights up the area and it's it's very charming and uh no notes like it's fantastic.
18:31
Home for the Holidays also solid home run. If you haven't seen it, it's worth showing up at whatever times they are
18:38
and and catching. And then also uh Crazy Kirk and the Hail Billies. They they play progressively more Christmas music
18:44
the closer it gets to Christmas, I think, is how it works. And so, um, they're definitely worth catching. And
18:50
nothing will beat though back in the day when they're at Disneyland in the golden horseshoe and and they would have the
18:57
big Christmas spectacular where they lower the tree. Like that was one of the funniest, weirdest, dumbest things I've
19:03
ever seen. And and you know, they just didn't have a place to lower the tree in this this location. But it is very fun to hear them. They're
19:10
fantastic. And uh that goes to January 4th if I recall. So you got lots of time to check
19:15
there. If you have an annual pass, they don't have blockout dates. So, you can go any day between now and the 4th
19:21
except for Christmas when they're closed. And you don't have to make reservations. And you don't have to make reservations. It's fantastic. Exactly. All right.
19:28
Well, if you've watched a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, heard of it. Yes. Then you know that the the peanuts
19:38
eat popcorn for Thanksgiving. My question for you, they have popcorn
19:43
and other stuff. Yes. Um, what is your favorite and least favorite Thanksgiving
19:49
foods? And you can let us know in the chat as well, but um I don't So I actually I know I made a
19:54
joke about it earlier. I don't love stuffing. Okay. Stuffing is not a me thing. Um it it I
20:02
don't know. I've never found it appealing. Um favorite
20:08
mashed potatoes probably. Okay. Uh although it's it's kind of hard because I do love green bean casserole.
20:14
Yeah. Um I like the combination of mashed potatoes with the stuffing with
20:20
the turkey and the gravy all together in one perfect bite. That would be the top
20:26
of my list. And and then my least favorite is probably the um
20:32
like the sweet potato with the marshmallows cuz that's just too sweet on sweet on sweet for me and I cannot
20:38
handle that. Like even if it's the other way that they they often make for Thanksgiving where it's sweet potatoes sliced up with brown
20:45
sugar and and water or something. I don't know. Um that's too sweet for me, too. I have discovered I do like
20:53
Japanese sweet potatoes and I like them when they have spice on like when they balance it out then I'm like, "Okay,
20:58
this is pretty good." But um but yeah, it's it's just too sweet for me. Like
21:05
we like sweet potatoes and savory things. Like we do it in curries, we do it in things like that. But that's not Thanksgiving. This is all
21:11
about Thanksgiving tonight. I will say I literally was saying today to people that maybe weren't that
21:18
familiar with Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. I was like, you know that Snoopy makes those children popcorn and
21:24
and jelly beans, right? And toast. And toast. Don't forget the toast. And they were like, oh. And I was like,
21:29
but Woodstock gets a feast. I was like Woodstock gets a Thanksgiving turkey to himself, which there's there's lots of
21:37
ethical questions with the meal that Woodstock is Woodstock is eating a turkey. Exactly. Um I don't think Woodstock deals uh
21:46
bothers himself with ethical quandies. Apparently not. All right. Speaking of ethical quandies, the Walt Disney
21:53
Company is building a bunch of self-motivated, is that a good way to put it?
21:59
Robots. One of which is Olaf. So far, they're all very cute. They're very, very amazing.
22:05
I am really impressed with them. Like, they're self-learning. They They announced this week that Olaf is one of
22:12
them. He will be at Hong Kong Disneyland and also at Disneyland Paris. He looks
22:17
amazing. He sounds obviously he is amazing the way he sounds. He interacts with people. His arms come off, his nose
22:23
comes off. He's for all intents and purposes a lifesized
22:28
um autonomous Olaf. Yeah. Amazing. What do you think of this?
22:35
I when I take away my ethical quandries,
22:40
um I think it's amazing. Like when I'm on surface level Disney fan, I turn my brain off. Like this is the coolest
22:46
thing I've ever seen because like it's Olaf. Uh, at first when they showed him in the video, I was like, I thought we
22:53
were done with the rear projection stuff. Like, it's not looking that good. Like, cuz when they first when he's like
22:58
meeting Josh. Oh, you thought it was a projection of some sort. Well, when he's first meeting Josh, they were doing rear projections on his eyes,
23:05
but he's like, "Hi, I'm Olaf." And he's like, "Were they really?" I don't think they were. It was not the final product.
23:11
No, it does say that it wasn't, but anyway, keep going. But whatever. It It looked like the rear projection. whatever. So, I was like,
23:18
"This I I don't get it." But then I saw him walking around and I was like, "Oh, like if our niece saw that, she would
23:26
immediately run after him being like, Olaf." Which will be interesting to see how that plays out. Yeah.
23:31
Cuz it looked to me like when I was reading through stuff that at Disneyland Paris, he's in the show, which is on
23:39
three Viking ships in the water and kind of maybe in front. I don't entirely know, but it's it's going to happen
23:44
throughout the day and it'll be cool at World of Frozen. Don't know what they're doing in in Hong Kong Disneyland. They
23:50
didn't say anything. It was just like, "Oh, he'll also be there." Um, for all we know, it's it's Hong Kong is where he
23:57
goes first and then he goes to Hong to Disneyland Paris. Um, just like they did with the um the BDxroids.
24:04
Yeah. Uh, which would make sense because if you were to go in like from January to
24:10
February into part of March, that would totally work because March 29th is when
24:17
World of Frozen and Disney Adventure World officially opens even though it's kind of a we're already open. We're just
24:24
adding a bunch of new stuff that's opening that day and renaming it. And renaming it. Um, goodbye Walt Disney Studios. But, uh, it
24:31
will be I don't think you'll be missed. I I won't. Um,
24:37
but we're getting um the newest iteration of Frozen Ever After.
24:42
Yeah. Which looks really cool. We're getting a a restaurant that I'm spacing the name
24:47
of that looks like it will be fantastic. I will say on the realm of Frozen ever
24:53
after if it is if it is even a half step up from what
24:58
we have uh what we have goodness what's in Fantasy Springs in Tokyo I think that this is going to be
25:04
incredible. My expectations is that it's miles above it, which is crazy to me because they were talking about um
25:11
projection mapping or projecting for immersive environments, which they don't really do in
25:17
like they use screen stuff, but I think this is taking it to a whole new level and it'll be very interesting to see how
25:22
that plays out. Um there's also a quick service place. There's um there's
25:28
there's going to be a little troll that you can get that interacts with other little trolls. So kind of think of like what they do with the the droids in
25:35
Galaxy's Edge. So it's like taking that and taking it from Star Wars but to the world of Frozen. There's going to be a
25:40
place where you can get dressed up like you live in Arendelle and then you can you know bound Arendelle bound Arendelle
25:47
whatever as you go around like there's going to be a lot of fun stuff and um I'm very curious about it. And then
25:54
potentially you bump into Olaf. And there's also a character opportunities to meet with uh with Anna and Elsa and
26:01
and uh I'm forgetting his name. The the little rock troll, Papa Moose M, something like that. The
26:09
little guy. Um he's at I think he's in Hong Kong already. But super cool. I can't wait for all of
26:15
this. Like I I think it's going to be amazing and it'll be fun to see how that all plays out. We also are getting a new
26:22
show called Disney Cascade of Lights that will be in the bay right next to
26:27
where World of Frozen is, but it's called Adventure Bay. And um this is
26:33
going to be interesting because it has not only the projections and the fountains, it'll also have pyrochnics,
26:39
it will also have drones both above the water and in the water. And if you watch
26:46
the most recent, we call it Imagineering, they they have some water drones.
26:52
Yes. And not the ones that are going under the water, but there's ones that are kind of they look like boxes and they're
26:58
on hydroplanes above the water. Yes. And I could imagine them being a certain
27:03
character that floats around in Moana. And Moana is one of the stories they announced for Disney Cascade of Lights.
27:10
So, I'm wondering if when they talked about water drones, they didn't mean like under the water. They meant in the
27:16
water, kind of on the water. Yeah. Like we saw with these stingray looking
27:22
characters that look that are drones. People are going to cry, man. Right. Right.
27:27
It's also Yeah. I think it's going to work really well. It's also just really neat to see this natural progression of storytelling. Um
27:34
because you have to you have to wonder if part of the question began with Epcot
27:40
Forever. Absolutely did. And the kites and the jet skis which also turned into kite tales which also
27:46
like it becomes this how can we tell a story in a different way on water.
27:52
Mhm. And so well and in a space that's 360 degrees around and like it'll it'll be very
27:58
interesting to see um how that plays out. But uh we'll have to wait and see.
28:04
We got a couple more months until that happens. But before that happens, because Thanksgiving is this week, I
28:10
thought we'd play a little game called turkey trivia.
28:25
All right, it's time for some turkey trivia. Katie. Yeah, you can play at home, too.
28:33
How many turkeys are eaten in the United States on Thanksgiving according to the USDA?
28:41
Uh uh
28:48
250,000. 250,000. I that has to be wrong, but I don't even
28:53
know. I can't. If you ask me right now, you're like, "What?" Do you want to do you want to phone a
28:59
friend? What's the population of the United States? Like, I don't know. 12. I would say at least at least 12.
29:06
Mhm. Do you want do you want to know the actual reason or number approximately?
29:12
46 million turkeys. Yeah. So, that sounds more correct.
29:18
Yeah. Yeah. That's that's okay. We'll get there. All right. What was President Calvin Culage
29:24
gifted to eat on Thanksgiving? Was it a turkey? No, it was not a turkey. Oh my god.
29:31
This is turkey trivia. Um Thanksgivingish, but yes.
29:37
A yam. Mm- I don't. This is hard. I'm not being
29:42
given multiple choice. Want to know? Yeah, I would like to know. It was a raccoon. Why would you tell me that?
29:48
He didn't eat it. Okay. It became it became I think it went to a zoo or something. I don't remember exactly. All right. How many
29:54
pumpkin pies are eaten by Americans on average on Thanksgiving Day.
29:59
Remember 5 million ish. Try 50. 50 million.
30:07
All right. What year was the first turkey pardoned by a president of the United States? And for for extra points,
30:15
which president? Don't PMO. Um,
30:24
was this within my lifetime? No. Okay.
30:34
You know, I think it'd be easier to say like bonus points. What year was it? But what president was? If you can do anything, go for it. Okay.
30:42
George HW. No. FDR. He was the one that modernized it,
30:47
I believe. But the first president that did anything remotely close to this was Abraham
30:53
Lincoln in 1863. What? Yeah. All right. How many calls does the
30:59
butterball turkey talk line experts field per year on average? How many of them are President Bartlett?
31:05
Right. One. Uh, okay.
31:11
You take the 400 million, you divide it by um I'm going to say
31:20
I'm scared. I'm going to say 70 million. How about 100,000?
31:26
What? 100,000. Okay, that that seems to be pretty consistent as I was looking from recent years. All
31:31
right, final question. I hate this game. What traditionally song or what song that's traditionally recognized as a Christmas song was
31:38
actually written for Thanksgiving? Jingle Bells. Yes, it was. See, you got one. I did know one. You got one. Very good.
31:44
I knew one. All right. Well, we are running out of time. So, what should people do, Kate?
31:50
You should go to dapsmagic.com where you don't have to know anything about Thanksgiving or turkeys. It's magical.
31:58
It's just there. Uh, you should subscribe to our mailing list so you don't miss any of the Disney or positive stuff. We've been doing a month of
32:04
Thanksgiving. It's been really magical. You should also go to patreon.comdapsmagic.
32:09
Dapsmagic. Uh, we do a post show for this show. Uh,
32:15
it's a lot of fun. That's all I could say. And make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel. We have a lot of videos
32:20
going up, including more from Disneyland, more from Knots Mary Farm. You won't want to miss any of it. Um,
32:26
because it's a lot of fun. And we'll have candle light very soon as well. But that is all the time we have for you
32:31
this week. So we will see you around the corner. Bye.
