Welcome to Geeks Corner. I'm Mr. Daps. I'm Katie. And did you know that the very first Super Bowl was on January
0:23
15th, 1967 and was the Green Bay Packers versus the
0:29
Kansas City Chiefs? I did not know that. Do you know who won? Uh, I would guess the Packers.
0:35
The Packers did win. I think it was something like 35 to 10. I feel like I read that somewhere one day.
0:40
Okay. Okay. Maybe. You never know. I don't know. Uh, I did watch a video the other day of the like first Super
0:47
Bowl halftime show [snorts] from this game then, I guess. Or maybe it was in the first
0:52
decade or like I didn't actually look up when the first halftime show happened. Uh, it's extremely underwhelming as you
0:57
could imagine. I always like the Indiana Jones one. Of [laughter] course you did.
1:03
I mean, that one's pretty clever. That's Hats off to that one. Except he kept his
1:08
hat on because he's Indiana Jones. Exactly. All right. All right. What should people do, Katie?
1:14
Uh, you should go into the chat wherever you are. You should join us. Um, you should also go I'm so uh turned sideways
1:22
on this. You should also subscribe wherever you are watching or listening or
1:27
what have you. Astral projecting. Um, and then go to uh DAPS HQ, which is
1:32
dapsmagic.com/dapshq. Correct. I did it right, guys.
1:40
Progress. Anyway. Yeah. Yeah. There we go. In like a million different time zones right now and I still feel like I'm on a
1:45
cruise ship. There you go. And we are going to talk about the Super Bowl tonight. Mainly the commercials, uh, the things that
1:51
happened after the Super Bowl and of course more on the Muppet Show, which
1:56
we're all looking forward to, I think. Uh, glad you to see you guys like the studio. We're having fun with it. Uh,
2:03
all right, let's get right into this. The Super Bowl spots from the Walt Disney Company, or at least the ones that we really cared about. started off
2:09
with the Mandalorian and Grou, which was a take on I think a Budweiser commercial
2:15
if if we were all to be uh like a Budweiser Clydesdale. Yeah. But uh even at the snow like so I I'm assuming
2:23
we went back to Hoth. I don't know. Um but why don't you describe it real quick and then uh share your thoughts. Um, it
2:29
is the Mandalorian and it is Grou and uh they are like in a chariot thing being
2:36
pulled by a space slay. A space slay being pulled by
2:43
tonons. Are those tonons? Yeah. Oh, okay. Um, that's why I think it's Hoth.
2:48
That would make sense. Like that was my logic. I'm like, "Oh, tonons. Hoth has to, you know, well, you know, the temperature inside a
2:55
ton [sighs] lukewarm." Um, so they're like it's a
3:01
whole motivational thing like much like you would see from the Budweiser Clydesdale commercials of like, you know, we have to like inspire ourselves
3:10
and we have to go after it and sometimes things that we can't feel the force. Um,
3:17
and it's like a 30 secondond. I think it flat out says like sometimes the force takes things out of our control or something like it. It's
3:23
great. It's um, I think it's super fun. And I saw a lot of people that really hated it. They were like, "This is the first like we
3:30
get a Super Bowl ad spot for the Mandalorian and Grou and this is what it is." And I'm like, "First of all, Super
3:36
Bowl, you only have 30 seconds." Um, what? Why did It just say my name? I got
3:42
scared. I don't know. Just keep going. But I think it's fun. I think [laughter] it's cute. Um, I enjoyed it. Um, I
3:50
thought it was very uh adorable. I agree with you. I actually like too that before anything happened, when you
3:57
hear the narration at the beginning, it's just snow. So, you don't know if it's Star Wars or something like it's
4:03
not initially Star Wars the first moment. Um, the one thing I noticed
4:10
was it didn't seem like it was the most expensive commercial for how much. And I
4:16
I think you could give it some lukewarm uh you could give it some lukewarm
4:21
credit for this because um the music to me sounded a little cynthy.
4:26
Sure. Which maybe that's okay. I don't know. It's just not my preference. I kind of wanted it to be the same level as what
4:31
we're used to with the Mandalorian. Agreed. The music is an important part. And then there was a couple moments uh
4:37
where I was that looked digital to me and and we all
4:42
know that that is one of my um cardinal sins I think. And granted it's just the
4:49
commercial. So I kind of also am like this probably is not even in the movie. So it's probably okay.
4:55
Just watch. They go to Hoth. We find out maybe this was the biggest spoiler of like this is them going to the big fight
5:02
at the end and then a portal opens and they said on your left and all the women Star Wars
5:08
come out and they they show up through their portals. [laughter] I'm sorry I have to clown on that
5:14
sometimes. See, and I thought you were going to go like Star Trek Guardians or uh the
5:19
Guardian of Forever where the big portal opens and they go back in time and then they're able to fix it before you know whatever.
5:26
Yeah. Sci-fi likes the portal thing. Yeah. Yeah. Because there's even the space
5:31
portals in uh um Star Wars to the time in between or whatever it's called. Um
5:37
[sighs] you need to watch more of um the animated stuff. You'll get there
5:42
someday. Someday. Working on it. Um I thought it was fun though. It was a good It was a good commercial. It was
5:47
cute. It It did what it needed to do. Uh, I don't know that it was a home run, so I can see where people maybe expected
5:54
more, but I also I was like, I also didn't think it did anything wrong. And
6:00
uh, and it was one of the few Super Bowl commercials we actually watched because it turns out when you're on a cruise
6:06
ship and they're beaming the Super Bowl from satellite.
6:11
There aren't commercials and they just keep playing the same old commercial for the Masters. And I love the Masters.
6:17
The one for the Masters. I I don't need I didn't need 60 commercials for the Masters. Like it was it was I was
6:24
excited about it the first time I saw it. I was like, "Oh, this is great." Not really funny or anything, but you know,
6:29
it was great. And then they kept coming back and I was like, "Oh, this this is not The Masters. It was a commercial for
6:36
passive income, like owning a property." And then there was one commercial break
6:42
where we got different commercials and we had hope for a second. And that was about if you're um a US resident and
6:48
you're not living in the US, you can still vote. It was it was very interesting. Anyway, we we had to go watch on the internet.
6:55
The other uh trailer that we did get to see was for Hoppers, and they're clearly
7:00
leaning into the quirky and um catchy. Is that good? Quirky and catchy is what
7:06
I would say for this um this uh movie. And the more I see of
7:15
this movie, the more I'm intrigued, okay, because I kind of was like, well, I feel
7:21
like this has been done before and they're fully acknowledging that it's kind of like Avatar, you know, like
7:28
there was some things in there the originally and I was like, okay, it'll be fine. But
7:34
it does feel like they might not be afraid of being zany. Mhm. And that tends to work for Pixar.
7:40
I'm excited. Like I think when Pixar plays it safe, it's usually not so great. And when Pixar goes, you know,
7:47
swings for the fences, whether it's for an emotional moment or humor, like when they go for it, nobody does it better
7:54
than Pixar. And I'm kind of wondering if maybe this is one of those things that we haven't seen all of the ziness and
8:01
this is going to be, I don't know, a surprise hit. I think this is hilarious. I love the um
8:11
all the animals talking. I do feel like there is a vine reference because when the deer are talking, they're like they
8:18
live together, which to me was like a oh my god, they were roommates. Um so
8:25
there's that. Um, but that's like everything I've heard out of the initial um, like watches of the movie from
8:32
people is like this is like crazy and it's it's hit after hit and it's like
8:37
the thing where um, like Family Guy Script has like 10 jokes a page. Like I
8:43
hope that that's what we get. It's just like crazy like hit after hit. Um because I think you're right, Pixar,
8:50
when you think of like the top Pixar films, like we're talking Cars, we're
8:57
talking Up, we're talking Toy Story. I think you could say Toy Story 3 is when they really took the risk. Like
9:03
think of it from a risk perspective is like where did they really
9:09
go for it? like Toy Story 3 at the end, you know, I was in a theater a week
9:15
after it opened and the entire theater was sobbing. And it's still a film that if you talk to a
9:21
certain generation, like that is one of the most impactful, emotional movies of [laughter] a
9:26
generation is Toy Story 3. Yeah. Like that one I just think is is phenomenal. Uh Monsters, Inc.
9:32
I think is is in that kind of uh category as well. And uh it's it's going to be really interesting to see if this
9:40
becomes like what if this becomes a franchise? Like I hadn't thought of that till just
9:45
this moment because it kind of seems like it's a one-off. But you could also
9:51
do more with this technology and go different places and have different reasons for doing it or whatever. And I'm assuming there's some sort of a um
10:00
lesson learned at the end, you know, to, you know, be one with nature or something. Um but yeah, it'll be I can't
10:08
wait to see how that works out. Um I can't wait for the uh crossover at Disney's Animal Kingdom. [laughter]
10:16
Well, what it is is you'll actually you'll put on a helmet. Exactly. Yeah. No, I'm saying like each
10:22
exhibit is going to have like a listen to what they're saying. Yeah. I want to listen to what Baxo is
10:28
saying. He's just a silly guy. He's just a fella. A dude. And I'm like, where would you put this?
10:34
Because the place that I would put this is where Blue is going. Oh, well, I'm saying each exhibit would
10:40
have one. Like you'd have a cast member. You could just walk. It could be like the new version of the uh Wilderness
10:45
Explorers. Yeah. Okay. Maybe it's the updated version of Wilderness Explorers. You can hear the gorillas talking. You can hear
10:52
the lions, all of that stuff. And you also learn. If you want a meeting, Disney, we're
10:58
open for this. We can we can I don't even like ask for money for this. Like I I just think this is a
11:03
great idea. So we just asked for the interview afterwards. like you have to come on and talk about the process on Geeks Corner
11:10
afterwards of like, oh, we heard these crazy people on Geeks Corner talking about this and we thought it'd be fun
11:16
and and then we get to to have the exclusive first interview about the process of creating.
11:21
You wanted an interview with them. I guess that makes more sense. Yeah. Yeah. I wanted to interview an animal.
11:27
[laughter] Well, that would could be part of the interview. I mean, we we have interviewed cows before on Geeks, so nothing possibility.
11:36
I'm going to interview this bird. [laughter] Well, we could talk to Egon. He might
11:42
step aside and let you interview Egon. I mean, I know where some geese are if you want to go interview them.
11:48
I'm scared of geese. Um, just thinking of animals I knew were easy access. I'm scared of geese. I'm scared of
11:53
turkeys. Okay. I'm actually scared of most birds, but I think that if I could talk to them, they
11:59
would understand I'm pure of heart and they would love me. Okay. Much like Boxo the tiger. I actually
12:04
think that What about like a parakeet? Like when you go to the, you know, like the the pet store and they always have like
12:11
hamsters, parakeetses, and fish. Like that time you had a parakeet for like two days. Well, that too. I mean, I've had
12:17
parakeetses longer. Like when I was a kid, I had them a lot like for years. Uh they're great.
12:22
One time I became like a de facto aunt to a parakeet that I didn't know. It was
12:29
very scary. Nobody knew it. It came out of nowhere. [laughter] All right, let's keep moving on. Super Bowl time.
12:35
More of that. As was always the case at the end of the game, instead of saying
12:42
I'm going to Disneyland, we it was we are going to Disneyland. That's the magic of friendship.
12:47
Yes. So MVP and quarterback from Seattle Seahawks, who won the game on Sunday,
12:52
got to say those magnificent lines or that magnificent line and then they were flown down to Disneyland the whole what
12:59
30 minute flight. [laughter] Yeah. 45inut flight. I don't know. Nothing. And uh and they spent yesterday.
13:07
Was that yesterday? Yeah, yesterday at Disneyland. Um before we get that, what did you think of the commercial this year? I think it's cute. I think that they
13:13
were very excited to say we're going to Disneyland. Um and it it was one of
13:19
those ones I always think the opening shots are a little corny because it's like So, it's one of the ones I wish I could
13:26
produce it. Sure. I would change things a little bit. I would change the music a little bit,
13:31
keep the song, different arrangement of it. I think there's I think you could make it even more
13:37
powerful and and um I would just make it bigger, I think, is
13:43
what I would do. It's fair. And I know there's that rush because you have to get it out in like an hour or
13:48
something or two hours, but I think you could do it. Um but I liked it. It's
13:54
fun. And they were legitimately excited to go to Disneyland, it seemed like. And um and I thought that was fun and I
14:00
would love to have seen after seeing the commercial my thought is like oh I want to see these guys ride like Indiana
14:05
Jones Adventure like that would be fantastic or maybe fly the Millennium Falcon together.
14:11
I mean I wouldn't be surprised if they did cuz they're really into this uh ride the attraction without reacting thing. I
14:18
wouldn't be surprised if they filmed one of those and it's like in the can somewhere. Which attraction at Disneyland would
14:24
they do? Because isn't it usually that they're doing it with Tron Light Cycle? No, they've done it for a lot of things.
14:29
They Oh, they did do it on Indie, didn't they? Aqueduck. They've done it for Indie. Like Darren Chris on Aqueduck.
14:36
Um they did it on Indie. They did it on maybe Tiana's. Like they've done a lot.
14:43
That's true. That is true. Um also, but I'd like to see it out now. Like we want it now.
14:48
I hope the Bears say it next year. Yeah, that'd be fun. I mean, the Seahawks are being sold anyway, so
14:54
that's fine. Um, it's a good cause. The guy who owned them before died. His
15:00
sister's owning them, and her job is to sell the team off for charity. Good.
15:05
Isn't that amazing? Yeah. Like, I think that's such a great story. Um, heartbreaking. [laughter]
15:11
I'm sure he didn't know they were gonna win the Super Bowl, but uh, yeah, that's cool. All right, so then they go
15:17
to Disneyland yesterday. They have their Cavalcade. They go on the teacups and um maybe the teacups was them uh filming a
15:24
do not [laughter] do not read. It wasn't because they were sitting there smiling and waving at people and
15:29
and like my favorite part was somebody that wasn't related to the NFL or Disney
15:34
or ESPN was uh filming from outside the attraction. And so you see them and they're like
15:40
leaning back and having fun and waving at people. And then you see in the um the decap next to them is like one
15:46
social media person with her phone like this just on them the entire time. And then you look over there and there's
15:53
another like they had a whole team of social media people all on their phones. It was fantastic.
15:59
And um that's what it takes to get the shot. It was fun. Like it was one of those things that a lot of proc or thought was
16:06
put into that process of like, oh, let's not get each other in the shot and let's get them and we need both of them and we
16:12
need to be able to like I was very impressed with it. I thought it was a lot of fun. Um, I also love the energy
16:18
that comes to Super Bowl day at either Disneyland or Magic Kingdom. um just because there's so many people that show
16:25
up that you just don't know are fans and maybe they're not even a fan of the team, they're a fan of the player or
16:31
whatever, but the energy is always insane. It's almost rivals like New Year's.
16:36
Yeah. Um and and that's and there's confetti and this year there
16:41
was ESPN. Yeah. ESPN handoff and and that's because ESPN is taking over
16:48
production duties for the uh the Super Bowl next year, which is fascinating
16:53
because what that really means is the Walt Disney Company is taking over the Super Bowl next year. And uh they they
17:01
kind of jumped into this with this we're what's we're going campaign and and they
17:07
had this I guess you could call it a trailer. It was and it yeah it had over 60 characters
17:14
getting ready to go to to the Super Bowl meet the Robinsons there a year from now but there's still time because there's there's more details and
17:20
and all of this stuff coming and um what do you think of this campaign? I don't know what to think of it.
17:26
I don't know what to think either. When I first watched it um I was so like I
17:31
think I had either just laid down to take a nap or I just woken up from a nap and I was like this doesn't make sense
17:38
to me. Um, and I watched it and then I showed it to you and you were like, "That doesn't make sense [laughter] to
17:44
me." Um, I think the thing for me that's very hard is it's very jarring to see
17:50
3D, 2D, and live action all in like the same space. But I also think it's fun.
17:57
Um, I think it's fun to hear Woody and Buzz say that they're going to go to the Super Bowl. I think it's funny to hear
18:02
Deadpool say he's going to go to the Super Bowl. Um, we already saw Mickey and Minnie go to SoFi with some cute
18:09
football um, costumes. So, I think that this is going to be a fun thing. Um, but
18:15
I'm also not a football person. So, like I So, I'm hoping we see all of their
18:20
character likenesses. So, you know, Lightning from Cars Land, Deadpool from Avengers Campus, whoever.
18:27
This could be the ultimate halftime show. Like you could have Darth Vader and
18:33
Captain America in the same place. Uhhuh. They did it with Indiana Jones. Like you
18:39
could like this is the Walt Disney Company. They put on a better show than just about anybody else. In fact, they
18:45
do put on a better show than anybody else. Imagine if they put all of that creative energy, couple it with
18:52
whoever. Like I don't know who's going to be your your halftime person and like
18:58
you make it the biggest bash ever.
19:04
I don't know. Who would you put? Like, who would you have as that center star? Or maybe it's multiple stars. Maybe you
19:09
do Miley Cyrus and Sabrina Carpenter, like all of the former like Disney stars
19:16
or something. I don't know. I don't know what he's saying either. It's okay. Um,
19:21
how do you not know what I'm going talking about? You just watched it. I know what you're Oh, okay. But we're saying we just watched the Bad Bunny
19:28
halftime show. Yeah, this would be a Disney version. I know. Like you you can kind of It's a different production value.
19:35
It It would be a massively different production value. Yeah. It would be a different approach to to
19:40
the creative process. Um No, I think it'd be awesome. All right, we're not going to talk about
19:46
that anymore. All right, we are going to move on to something we all want to talk about, and that is the Muppets.
19:52
Thanks, Daddy. Thank you, Mr. Daddy. Thanks, man. We have gotten to watch The Muppet Show
19:58
again and again and again and again. And uh it is fantastic. And as we promised
20:04
last week, we're going to return to it for a more in-depth review. This week, hopefully you've all gotten to see it by
20:09
now. And if you haven't, get on it because it needs the views so that we can get um the actual season.
20:17
Yeah. And I saw multiple times this week on Disney Plus. It was in the number one slot for
20:23
most watched, which is great. I heard it had a great opening night on ABC. And um
20:31
I was spitballing. I don't know. Like you never know. Uh anyway,
20:36
had a great spot opening night on ABC and uh and now that we've had a week to
20:42
digest and process it, more thoughts, Katie, on what did you think about The Muppet Show?
20:48
I think it is excellent. Um I
20:54
just watching it again, like the amount of things, not that I missed, but like I didn't catch because it is such a
21:00
jam-packed special. Um, it's magical. It feels like the
21:07
Muppets. Now, with people that I don't even know how people catch these things,
21:12
but the eagle-eyed fans that have spotted some of the things that have come from the parks that are in the
21:17
special, um, like it's really fun to now go, "Look, I see it." Mhm.
21:23
Um, it just has this unique charm
21:28
that you can only create when everybody is fully 100%
21:35
sold on the Muppets. And I I think it's great. I also think Sabrina Carpenter
21:40
was the best first guest they could have pulled out cuz she's so like she kind of is a muppet.
21:46
Yes. And she's surprisingly charming with them. like clearly having fun. Like
21:53
you can see the best stars or guest stars in the Muppets are the ones that you can tell are having fun. Um and she
21:59
clearly is having fun especially with Miss Piggy and but like there's even the joke of like with uh Kermit where
22:06
they're like well she's like I'm the same height or something. We're all Oh yeah, cuz he goes oh you fit right in. She goes it helps we're the same height.
22:11
Yeah. And like there's a lot of little subtle jabs that um I really think they
22:17
were smart with. I think it was also smart that they didn't keep it um rated
22:23
G like it's a PG show and probably as the Muppets should be as they should be because you really do
22:30
want to connect at all ages and the the kids that don't know aren't going to know and the adults that do get are
22:36
going to that was funny and and I think they really threaded that needle very effectively and and having caught more
22:43
and watched it um subsequently like I was very impressed at how um
22:51
how they carefully took risks and and I hope that's something that happens more. And even as I'm thinking
22:57
about, you know, Josh Dear, the new CEO, talking about how he's a risk taker, I'm hoping that that translates down to
23:04
Muppet Studio and they're like, "We're going to take risks with the Muppets. We're going to make a show." Um, I liked
23:11
that beyond just being a comic variety show, there is a little bit of a storyline because I think that helps as
23:17
well. And um, the thing I was thinking about the most time recent time we watched it is like what other story
23:23
lines could you do? And I really think there's quite a bunch of them that you
23:29
could, you know, it doesn't have to be all the same thing and you could do seasonal things and as they've done in
23:36
the past and um I think the thing that uh somebody said online and I do really
23:44
agree with this is the thing that it would take to make this feel like really
23:50
like this special did is if they didn't, you know, pre-record record 25 episodes
23:56
or something like keeping it in a tighter turnaround does make it feel
24:02
more timely and relevant and because the Muppets are very pop culture based
24:08
um and so it does rely on like what is happening right now in the world. Obviously this was still filmed maybe
24:14
six months or a year ago or what have you. Um, but like having that relevancy
24:21
and the Muppets have a a really great talent for being extremely relevant
24:26
without being outdated, if that makes sense because it's very easy if you
24:32
watch Muppets ABC actually. Again, I love Muppets ABC. I'm Muppets ABC Truther. Okay, watch Muppets ABC if you
24:38
haven't after you watch the Muppets and Sabrina Carpenter special cuz we need more. Um, but that has a lot of jokes
24:46
that were very relevant and funny in 2015 and now you watch it and you're like, "Oh, I see why that was funny 11 years
24:52
ago." Mhm. As where the Muppets are very relevant and they can make jokes about things
24:57
that are happening now, but you don't go, "Oh, yeah, that was a thing that was happening 11 months ago." Or
25:03
because when you hear a Muppet say it, it's completely different ballpark. Um,
25:08
yeah, I agree with that. I think I think they do a nice job and they they didn't push it too far.
25:14
Mhm. And like I like that they use songs also that different eras are going to know.
25:19
So like there were songs that you know are popular today and then there's other songs what 30 40 years old and
25:26
islands in the stream I think is like 70s so 50. Um don't stop me now is like
25:32
yeah 80s like there's songs that dated back through different generations and are just loved by everybody. And I think it
25:38
was a really smart move um for the songs that they picked. And um
25:44
I also think there is something incredibly magical about the Muppets putting together a
25:50
showstoppping finale and it being all the Muppets together singing Don't Stop Me Now
25:55
in the first like really great reboot we've gotten since the original [clears throat] Muppet Show ended. Like
26:01
how do you not feel a little something in your heart with like the muppets
26:07
saying don't stop us now? Like Yeah. Yeah. I think it's I think they totally nailed it. And um [snorts] and
26:14
they only hit a few of the segments. Like there wasn't a true fozy moment.
26:19
There wasn't a true like there wasn't an at the dance. There kind of wasn't. There kind of was.
26:25
It wasn't an at the dance. It was But yeah. Yeah. Um, you know, Pigs in Space could
26:30
come back easily. Like there's a lot of things they could do. True. And um, and I thought Seth Rogan,
26:37
like honestly, if there's more, keep him exactly what
26:42
he's doing. Like, yes, let him executive produce, but also let him act as the executive producer because I thought
26:47
that worked out really well. And um, Maya Rudolph was also a really great celebrity guest.
26:53
Yeah. because she is also very Muppety in like everything she does.
26:59
Um, and I also thought it was funny that Muppets Newsman is like, "My Rudolph is dead.
27:05
My Rudolph is no longer dead." Like, she sells it. So,
27:11
yeah, it was great. Um, one of my favorite moments was towards the end with uh Seth Rogan where he was sitting
27:18
in the uh in the audience clapping for them and uh complaining that that his
27:24
segment got cut or whatever and the the muppet next to him just reaches over and like pats his arm. And I was like,
27:29
so funny. It's so funny and it's adorable and it's just absurd all at the same time, which
27:35
is what the Muppets do when they're at their best. It's also the level of celebrities with the Muppets because
27:41
Sabrina Carpenter was like, "I am a fan of the Muppets. Um, this is so fun." My
27:46
Rudolph is like, "I am a fellow Muppet. I just am a human." And then Seth Rogan is like, "I am Michael Kaine and I am
27:54
with these Muppets. Like, we are like, I take this very seriously." Like,
28:00
what do you mean? I got cut for an armadillo and a tutu. I've never seen that guy before. He's not even canon.
28:05
Such a great line. as we're the Muppets just it's okay. Absolutely incredible work. Um I want to
28:15
watch this like a million more times and I am going to watch it a million. It needs to happen so we get more. Uh
28:21
absolutely. I've only been wearing like Muppets merchandise for the last week. He can attest. I was like I was packing and I
28:28
was like, "Oh, I have this Muppet shirt and this one and this one and this one and this one. I'm going to throw it all in so people have I was like subliminal
28:36
messaging. They're going to see my shirt, be like, "Oh, you know what? I love the Muppets. [gasps] Disney just
28:41
put out a new special with the Muppets." But they didn't play it on the big screen. Yeah, they didn't. I should have
28:46
requested at the Super Bowl. There you go. That that totally would have worked. All right. Now, it is time for one of our favorite parts of the
28:53
night, and that is
29:00
comments. comments. That is right. It is time for comments. I've seen there are quite a few of them
29:06
that we need to address as we go back. But as we scroll through the comments and react to them, feel free to ask any
29:12
more comments or make any more comments or ask any questions, all of that stuff. And uh we will respond to those for the
29:19
next few minutes as well. All right, I'm going all the way at top. So uh Muppet Show up at the end of the Kenny Center
29:25
where the show could be centered. Yeah, I think you could do a uh a Muppets
29:30
Great Moments in American History thing. Great. Love that idea. Um would have Muppet Show. Electric
29:37
Mayhem tour. I I would love if the Electric Mayhem went on tour. That would be one of the
29:43
best thing. I would love to interview them again because that would be amazing. Um wait for current friends to find next
29:50
celebrities. Yes. So, who's your next celebrity guest? Bad Bunny. There you go. Okay. Um,
29:57
and mine would be, who would mine be?
30:04
I'm thinking. I'm thinking. I'm thinking. Okay. We've said Steve Martin in the past. Steve Martin's already been on it, I
30:09
realized. So, that's a no-go. I also feel like following your lead, it should be a guy. Paul McCartney. Uh, that's a
30:17
no-brainer. I want to see Paul McCartney with the Muppets bad. I was like, that's actually my choice.
30:22
Uh uh let's see. Speaking of Super Bowl, I
30:27
remember back in 2013, Baltimore Ravens defeated San Francisco. That is true. Uh
30:34
studio. Thank you. We do like how the studio Pascal did eat. He also was in the Super Bowl twice because he was also in the
30:41
halftime show and in um
30:46
[snorts] the Mandalorian commercial. is like the the commercial brain is literally rocking.
30:51
I I literally was like, is there another one we don't know about? And okay. Yes. Um, we would love more Star Wars movies
30:58
with John Williams music. I think everybody would love that. I also think the fact that We Bear Bears
31:04
creator is also the creator of Hoppers because said that like two comments ago. Oh, I missed that one.
31:10
It's okay. Um, very exciting. Also, I do think that gives help hope though.
31:16
Yeah. Like I think I think it keeps Pixar from becoming too
31:21
formulaic because there's always that risk when you use the same talent from the same studio that you end up even
31:28
with new ideas, they start feeling the same. And I do think it's good to kind
31:33
of mix up that secret sauce a little bit to add a little spice here and there. And I think,
31:40
you know, Disney does that, Pixar does it, and the more you do that, the better. Uh, can't wait to find out what Indie is
31:45
thinking. Easy. Uh the inside of his head is just
31:50
um that's all he it's all he listens to. It's actually kind of wild. Um
31:56
[laughter] wait, there was a reference to Muppet Vision 3D in and pointed it out to you tonight.
32:02
No, no, no, no, not the sign cuz I showed you the sign. When they referenced Mupp Vision 3D with Dr.
32:10
Bunson, Honeydew and Beaker, I cried. What was the reference to? Nope. Down.
32:15
Caleb said it. I think it was the the cam the uh was it the sign?
32:20
I think it was the sign. Okay. Um Mano was cute. Feels like Disney's
32:27
making similar mistakes to see the marketing campaign for Solo. Three months left. I'm curious. Like I'm sure
32:32
there's a plan for it and part of it is you don't want it to get lost with everything else, especially when they had Avatar and Zootopia 2 that have just
32:40
been crazy big in the theaters. Um, yeah, it'll be interesting to see
32:47
because we already have more for Doomsday. We have more for um I guess
32:53
Doomsday is the big one. I am really scared that there is going to be a scene um where he's like,
32:59
"What's your name?" And he's like, "Mando?" And he's like, "Mando what?"
33:04
And he's like, "I don't have anybody." And he goes, "Mandalorian."
33:10
Remember Solo when that happened? Mhm. I think it's the silliest part of that movie. I didn't love it that moment either. Uh
33:17
yeah, solo. Uh I loved it.
33:23
So I think I like your idea with Seth Rogan being a guest, but I also would prefer him staying as the executive
33:30
producer so he can be in more shows. I also really like the idea of the bit being that Seth Rogan's bit keeps
33:37
getting cut. Mhm. They keep saying, "Seth, we've made time." Um,
33:43
and the real payoff would be as if they don't give him a payoff at the end of the season. Exactly. Because I think the natural inclination
33:49
to be like, "Oh, yeah, at the end of the season he actually did get the thing." Oh, no. And I think the way you do it is you
33:55
don't and then you're left hanging. I'm like, "Well, hopefully next year." And then it turns out Seth Rogan doesn't even come back and it's Nathan Lane
34:01
instead. I don't know. It just popped into my head. you would. Um,
34:10
Paul McCartney being another guest star on the Muppet Show. I agree, Paul. Yeah, Paul could perform with the Electric
34:16
Mayhem. It'd be fantastic. Or with Ralph because he does a lot of solo stuff. So, it could be kind of a fun, you know,
34:22
acoustic and piano moment. Ralph playing um 1985,
34:30
like that piano bit. Oh, like there's there's a lot of stuff you could do with with that. That would be
34:35
very fun. But we will have to keep those in mind for next time cuz we are running out of time. So Katie, what should
34:41
people do? You should go to dapsmagic.com. Check out all the Disney and positive stuff as it happens. Subscribe to our mailing
34:48
list so you don't miss any of it. Uh you could also go to dapsmagic.com/dapshq.
34:56
uh join our super um secret fan uh fan club, super secret like friendship club.
35:03
Um we make friendship bracelets sometimes. Um we have code names like it's fine. Um we do have a post show to
35:09
the show. Um and that's I don't have any brain cells left
35:15
tonight, so this is going to be super fun. I promise. Yeah, you can watch Daps After Dark on Dapsmagic HQ because that
35:21
is what we do after this and you never know what's going to happen there. And it's kind of funny when Katie's like
35:27
this. So, we will see. Anyway, make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel as well. We've got a ton of videos that are going up, including the Super Bowl
35:34
commercial is already up. The Super Bowl Cavalcade on Main Street is already up and I think we have a vocal so soul
35:41
video going up tomorrow if I remember correctly. But that is all the time we have for you this week. So, we will see
35:47
you around the corner. Bye.
