On this day in 2006, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast opened in Discoveryland at Disneyland Paris. The attraction is one of several at Disney Parks across the world that showcase Buzz Lightyear and allow guests to earn points by shooting lasers at targets while riding on Omnimover vehicles. The primary inspirations for the attraction are Buzz’s backstory from ‘Toy Story 2’ and ‘Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.’ From 2006 until 2017, every Disney Resort around the world had this attraction!
