Disney Afternoon Avenue | DISNEY THIS DAY | March 15, 1991

On this day in 1991, Disney Afternoon Avenue first opened at Disneyland Park in California. The “it’s a small world” mall area was transformed into a new "land" based on the ‘Disney Afternoon’ two-hour syndicated television block. Guests could get event maps stamped and meet characters from ‘DuckTales,’ ‘Chip ’n’ Dale Rescue Rangers,’ ‘TaleSpin, and ‘Adventures of the Gummi Bears.’ The Motor Boat Cruise and Fantasyland Autopia were also rethemed for the promotion.
