This year, this ultimate Disney fan event takes place on August 14, 15, and 16th. There will be events happening the week leading up to the big weekend, however. Mr. Daps goes into all of these events, all of the ticketing options, when they go on sail, and also offers his own insights from previous D23 events.

I almost called it an expo, D23, the

ultimate Disney fan event with Josh

the role of chairman for Disney

experiences. And you can hear more about

with new leadership comes a new approach

to some of these things. And while I

same, I also think we will start seeing

and feeling the personality differences

that's something that's very exciting.

This year, just like last time, two

years ago, this will be an event that

takes over all of Anaheim. It is going

to be taking place in many different

parts of the the city whether it's the

convention center whether it's the Honda

center whether it's a museum whether

it's the packing house even Disneyland

is getting involved in the exciting uh

activities that are happening this year

we are also going to see expanded hours

this year so for the first time the

convention center floor will be open

later at night so I believe things will

be open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on

Friday and Saturday. Sunday they're

going to open early is also um I'm not

entirely sure which time that is, but it

will be staying late open that day as

well. And uh and this is something new

and exciting because they're also

offering an evening or an afternoon pass

As I mentioned before, this year D23

really isn't just the weekend, it's the

full week leading up to it. And this

starts on Saturday, August 8th, with a

an an a new exhibit coming out of the

Walt Disney Archives that's going to be

opening at the Museum Museum and

Cultural Center in Anaheim. It's called

Capturing Life, Creating Character: The

Art of Live Action Reference, and that

will be opening on Saturday, August 8th.

And if you know anything about the Walt

Disney Archives exhibits, you will know

that this is something that you'll want

to check out. It'll be worth worth being

there really. It's always fun to be

there on opening day. And then I believe

this exhibit after its run at Museo will

be traveling as well. And they've done

Then you fast forward to Tuesday, August

11th, and it's D23 night at the Anaheim

Packing District. There will be a world

There will also be a DJ. There will be

trivia. It'll be a whole lot of fun with

your best D23 Disney fans with you is

where all with you as well. I can speak

for real. But uh this is a blast and if

you're coming from out of town, it's

worth hopping in an Uber or Lift or

whatever it takes to head on over to the

Packing District. It's not far from the

Disneyland Resort. It's also just a very

very charming venue with a lot of

find something they like and it's

is Wednesday. That is D23 night at the

Angel Stadium. This is August 12th. This

will see the Angels facing off against

the Rangers. But really, it's not about

the game. The game is just there. This

is an excuse to hang out with other

Disney fans who also love Disney and and

maybe you want to get a prize cuz the

first 23,000 fans, maybe it's a giveaway

is a better word than a prize. U anyway,

the first 23,000 fans will be receiving

a D23 Mickey bobblehead.

On top of that, 2,000s of 2,000 of these

bobbleheads are an ultra rare gold

variant. I'm assuming that will be

something that's just sporadically

uh bobbleheads that random fans and D23

highlight of this day, for D23 fans at

least, is the Disney Legends Cavalcade

that will go down the parade route. And

that were part of this Cavalcade waving

to the crowds, giving chance to for fans

to, you know, get to see these Disney

distance away. So, this gives the

about how that Fortnite could be the

Showcase. Uh this is going to be the

first time that we really see what

Disney Experiences is going to be like

under the leadership of Thomas Maslam.

It's also going to be very interesting

to see how this is run. So it's been

done different ways through the years.

There was a time where the Disney CEO,

which was Bob Iger at the time, would

come out and he would run this this

segment. I don't think anybody will ever

forget when Star Wars Galaxy's Edge was

announced, what was it almost a decade

ago, probably. And and Bob Iger

announces Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and

then he goes, "But wait, there's not

the crowd went crazy. And so it'll be

very interesting to see if this is

coming for the Disney parks, the Disney

Cruise Line, all of all of the things

attraction there, the Indiana Jones

attraction there. I would not be

surprised at all if we get more

um Avatar or even the East Gate project.

Not as glamorous perhaps, but it's a big

deal for Disney fans, especially anybody

visiting the Disneyland Resort,

whether it's regularly or on an

occasion. It is going to dramatically

change the arrival experience of the

Disneyland Resort. And hopefully, this

is something that's massively better.

So, I think a lot of people, while this

might be a little bit more practical,

are excited to see what comes of the

East Eastern Gateway. We also might be

learning, you know, Disney Adventure

World will have just opened months

before. We might earn uh learn about

more plans for what's coming to

Disneyland Paris in the future. They are

very entertainment heavy, but you know,

they do have the Lion King attraction

that's coming to Disneyland Paris, so

that would not be a surprise to see at

all. We also might see news coming from

the other Disney International Parks.

You know, whether it's uh new lands, new

parks, new, you know, this is where

those announcements will come. And um I

think there's been lots of speculation

about what possibly could come in the

future. And and that will be exciting to

see some of these things revealed. I

think we will also learn probably a

little bit more about what's coming for

the Disney Cruise Line. Maybe we'll get

some details on the new class of ship

that's coming out that uh are reportedly

smaller than the current Wish class of

ships and uh that will be coming

sometime after the Disney Believe which

is very exciting as we look to the

future of what uh Disney experiences can

offer. We also might I'm not expecting

it quite as much here but it's also a

very good chance we will get news about

more integrations between Fortnite and

the Disney parks and experiences as

well. And that will just be one of those

things that we will wait and see. And uh

know, Martha Blanding getting the

Disneyland band and the characters all

coming out for her as she's named a a

Disney legend. And you think of all of

the other ones. Miley Cyrus is popping

into mind uh as as I'm just spitballing

about the last time. But this time there

will be um people that come from

Imagineering, from acting, from

animation, from the company that will be

honored as dis Disney legends on August

6 or uh what is the date? August 16th.

Yes, August 16th. And we've already have

honored that uh include the likes of Bob

Iger who just stepped down as CEO of the

Walt Disney Company after basically

Disney Company and really set the

foundation that takes the the Walt

Disney Company from its first hundred

years and sets sets it on a firm

years. And uh and I think his

contributions will continue to be

realized and um probably studied

honestly as the years go by and it's a

very earned honor and it'll be fun to

see him receive it on August 16th.

You'll also see Dwayne the Rock Johnson

who's in uh Moana, the live action one

this summer. He's done a lot with the

Walt Disney Company and he's really in

recent years

uh put himself into a position of of

partnership and collaboration with the

Walt Disney Company and and really has

helped uh Disney storytelling as it's

moved forward. And it'll be fun to see

him honored. You're going to see Anne

Hathaway honored who

so many different things she's done with

Disney. And it'll be fun to see her uh

get honored as well. The one I'm perhaps

most excited about is Kim Irvine, who

was uh the Walt Disney Imagineer, who

just retired after decades of working

for the Walt Disney Company. And and she

was really instrumental in in what

happened at Disneyland and making sure

uh it it continued to move forward, but

also still felt like Disneyland. And so

she was very good at being a caretaker

of the Disney story, the Disney image

and the Disney creativity and

imagination as she was doing it so that

it didn't get stagnant. whether it was

adding more color to the castle or or

helping with, you know, redoing Main

Street a few years ago or and a lot of

that was color and little details or um

I think the Adventure Land Tree House

like she had her her fingerprints on so

many different things through the years

and and really was a living legend while

she was working at the parks and now

she's a living legend in her retirement

and it'll be nice to see her honored in

that way and I can't wait to see as I'm

when they're honored. You know, what

Miranda is getting honored as well,

contributed in so many ways to the Walt

perform because they're being honored.

what they do to honor these people and
