Two Tours on the Disney Wonder

Earlier this year, Daps Magic was invited by Disney to go on a media cruise aboard the Disney Wonder. The Disney Wonder is the second ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Even though it is nearly 30 years old, it is still as magical as ever. This cruise was very special. It sailed out of San Diego, California, with stops at Catalina Island and Ensenada, California.

On the day of the visit to Catalina Island, Daps Magic had the opportunity to go on two tours before heading to the island to check out the bison herd on an incredible tour. The first tour looked at the Oceaneer Club, where kids (ages 3-10) can go and get some specialized magical experiences. The second tour was The Art of the Theme Ship Tour. This is a tour of the entire ship that cruisers can sign up to experience, free of charge. Below is a look at both of these tours as seen through the lens of Mr. Daps

Here are the highlights of the Oceaneers Club:

Andy’s Room: Featuring a larger-than-life Slinky Dog slide and character visits from Woody and Jessie.
Marvel Super Hero Academy: A high-tech training space where kids can test out superhero technology and get visits from Spider-Man and the Avengers.
Themed Craft & Game Hubs: Dedicated areas like Wondering Oaks for crafts, science experiments, and group games.

The Art of the Theme Ship Tour is a guided walk through the Disney Wonder that highlights the design philosophy, architectural choices, and rich storytelling woven into every hallway, dining room, and lounge. From the Art Nouveau and Art Deco design cues to subtle nods to classic Disney animation, the tour offers a whole new perspective on how the ship was built.

While the first tour was specific to media, there are open houses that give those aboard the Disney Wonder the chance to see the Oceaneers Club. The Art of the Theme Ship Tour is a lot of fun and very informative. Definitely sign up for this tour via the Disney Cruise Line app.
