Monorail Refurbishment at Disneyland

Disneyland Resort’s Monorail Closes for Refurbishment

The Disneyland Resort Monorail has closed for a refurbishment. Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort on Monday, March 30, 2026, could see walls around many of the entrances to the Monorail in both the Downtown Disney District and Disneyland station in Tomorrowland. At the time of this writing, a reopening date for the Monorail has not been revealed.

Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by the Disneyland Resort on Monday morning to check out any work that was being done on the Monorail. Work was already underway. What was being done is unknown. Below are photos Steven took of both Monorail stations in their current status.

The Monorail originally debuted at Disneyland in 1959. It was the first daily operating, straddle-beam monorail in the Western Hemisphere. Decades later, the “highway in the sky” continues to be a favorite with fans. Daps Magic will continue to monitor progress on this attraction and share any information that may become available about it.

The Disneyland website currently says the following about work being done on the Monorail:

Disneyland Monorail is currently closed for refurbishment. Please check back here for updates.
