The Muppet Show

It’s Time to Meet the Muppets!… Again!

In 1976, The Muppet Show made its debut, and the world was never the same. Mia Farrow was the celebrity guest. 50 years later, The Muppet Show has returned for a special event presentation with Sabrina Carpenter as the guest. Rather than simply revisiting the past, this version of The Muppet Show takes the foundation of the past and builds on it. On February 4, 2026, the world will get to see The Muppet Show. Hopefully, when they do, they will see it over and over again. The return of The Muppet Show is something that fans have been longing to see for years.

The Muppet Show

The Muppet Show in 2026 is reminiscent of the original version of the series that ran for five years. In fact, I would say that it keeps true to the principles of the show from fifty years ago. However, it doesn’t act like a show from fifty years ago. This is a show that uses the foundation of the past with the humor and cultural references of today. This makes for a modern Muppet show that connects with longtime Muppet fans and brings in new ones. It builds on the brilliance of the original The Muppet Show. Jim Henson nailed the balance of a classic variety show with performers and performances that were modern. Fifty years later, this version of The Muppet Show does the same.

The Muppet Show

For many years, there have been many attempts to bring The Muppets to their former glory. Nothing will ever be able to take The Muppets to the level that Jim Henson led them. What can be hoped for is a new level for a new generation. The Muppets aren’t in the same world that they were in 50 years ago. However, they still have something to offer, just as they did five decades ago. This take on The Muppet Show takes what was loved about the original and puts it into a modern world.

Through the last few decades, it has felt like The Muppets have been afraid to take risks or be edgy. The original version of The Muppet Show was edgy and did take risks. This new version of The Muppet Show does the same. There are jokes that are edgy that adults will understand and will fly over the heads of kids. This is what made the original version so brilliant. The zaniness of these characters entertained the kids. This also entertained adults, but the added frosting were some of the edgy moments. In this case, Sabrina Carpenter, as the special guest, was very effective at this.

The Muppet Show

The return of The Muppet Show is perhaps something that many fans didn’t see coming. However, it is a welcome return. Is it perfect? No. Is it fun? Absolutely. This is a fun and entertaining show that has favorite charcters new and old. It also provides hope for fans, new and old, that there could be a future for The Muppets that can bring the whole family together as they watch Kermit and friends on stage.

The Muppet Show

The Muppet Show is a gift that many fans of The Muppets have been hoping for, for a very long time. It appears that now there is a chance for something really special to come from Kermit the Frog and friends. Hopefully, this leads to more. The only way that this will happen is if enough people watch it enough times. If you like this show even remotely as much as I did, watch the show again, share it with your friends, and help build a fan campaign for more of The Muppet Show. While it may not always feel like it, the consumer does have some power. This can be shown by the minutes watched on Disney+ and ABC when this show airs. Let’s come together and help The Muppets continue to entertain us and build the world up, just as they have done for the last 50 years since the original version of the show appeared.

Watching The Muppet Show was such a wonderful experience. I found myself enjoying this show and laughing along at the moments that mattered. Did I know every song that was sung? No, but Sabrina Carpenter fans will. Did it make me happy? Absolutely, it did. Would it make my nieces and nephews happy? I sure think so. I think this approach to The Muppets works for all ages, and I sincerely hope it leads to more. Yes, there are things I could nitpick about. However, what I think is more important is that this is a fun show that I could enjoy with my whole family. At the end of the day, that’s what The Muppets are all about. I take my hat off to this show, and I hope there will be more like it in the future! There are endless possibilities for more segments, more celebrity guests, and more Muppets! Let’s hope we get to see them!
