New ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ Gives First Look at New Villain

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will be arriving on Paramount+ on Thursday, January 15, 2026. For this release date, the first two episodes of the series will be arriving on the streaming service. This will give fans a look at a new captain, crew, and cadets in the Star Trek universe. This will take place after the events of Star Trek: Discovery. Ahead of the arrival of this new series, a clip was released at CCXP in São Paolo, Brazil. This gives the first look at the series in a continuous scene. It also shows the villain in action and his debut. The villain, played by Paul Giamatti, is named Nus Braka and is Klingon and Tellarite.

Check out the clip below, which shows U.S.S Athena (The school and ship for the Starfleet Cadets) comes under sudden attack, only for the assailant to be revealed as Nus Braka. 

Along with this clip, a new poster has also been released for the series. This is exactly one month before the series’ arrival. It can be seen here:

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy introduces viewers to a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism. Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.

The series stars Holly Hunter as the Chancellor of Starfleet Academy, the Starfleet cadets played by Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané, Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins and Bella Shepard, plus Zoë Steiner, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo, and guest stars Oded Fehr, Mary Wiseman, as well as recurring guest stars Gina Yashere and Paul Giamatti.
