As Home Alone celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, Disney+ and Hulu decided to make things even more memorable. This was done with the building of a massive gingerbread house recreation of the McCallister House from the film. The new house was confirmed as the new Guinness World Records title for the largest gingerbread house by an official judge. This Guinness World Records judge verified the record and also confirmed that the house, which measures 44,838 cubic feet, holds the new world record.
It took a team only 8 days to build this gingerbread house that was designed as the iconic McCallister home. It stands an incredible 34 feet long, 58 feet wide, and over 22 feet tall. It is constructed with 4,200 gingerbread brick tiles and almost 1,800 roof tiles. Below is a hyperlapse that shows the McCallister House being recreated out of gingerbread!
This massive holiday showstopper hadquite the recipe to make it come to life. This includes 7,350 pounds of all-purpose flour and over 6,600 eggs. These were held together with 20 gallons of edible glue and then finished with 10 pounds of fondant.
For those who want to see it in person, the gingerbread house can be visited in person tonight, December 19, from 4:30 PM – 9:30 PM at:
