Storybook Land Canal Boats are once again open at Disneyland when the weather allows it to be. On a very rainy first day of the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, this beloved attraction reopened. When it did, it included a new story scene with Rapunzel’s Tower rising above the canal between the Patchwork Quilt and Toad Hall. This new addition comes three-quarters of the way through the attraction. It can also be seen toward the beginning of the attraction as well.
Throughout the day, the rain came and went. This led to the attraction being open sporadically and then closing again when the rain returned. Daps Magic was able to experience the attraction during a brief respite in the rain. Here is a video of this experience with the new Tangled tower:
Along with the addition of Rapunzel’s Tower, there are also some other fun story elements found nearby. This includes wanted posters that are seeking out Flynn Rider dotting the stone wall. Look closely at these posters, and it can be seen that even these posters can’t get Flynn’s nose right. Each poster has a different depiction of Flynn’s nose. They are small, though, so maybe bring a camera with a zoom lens! Further down, there is a secluded dock with a boat inspired by the one in the film. It is just waiting for Rapunzel and Flynn Rider to come and go for a cruise. The dock is framed with twinkling lights that wind up a trellis of the Casey Jr. Circus Train bridge.
During the day, the music of When Will My Life Begin? can be heard coming from Rapunzel’s Tower. In the evening, I See the Light will be heard as the Storybook Land Canal Boats float by. Daps Magic was unable to get on the attraction at night due to the rain.
The addition of this story to the attraction is one of the offerings of the ongoing Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. This celebration continues through the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort and through the summer of 2026.
